Mayor Sam's Morning Update
Full Disclosure Network continues in interviewing some interesting and legendary newsmakers. Next on the list is Hustler publisher, Larry Flynt. The iconic pornographer will discuss everything from illegal immigration to fundamentalist Christians to how he stopped the Clinton impeachment. To watch the interview, click here.
Steve Hymon, writing in the LA Times, talks about how a group of about to evicted tenants didn't get their day in City Hall, because the Council, including members Parks, Smith and Reyes - joined in by a visiting Mayor Villaraigosa - spent upwards of half an hour making bets on Saturday's USC - UCLA game (in case you didn't know USC beat UCLA 66-19 and is now most likely headed to the National Championship at the Rose Bowl on January 4th.) Taking it from the ridiculous to the sublime, a football was tossed as fight songs played and former high school footballer Tom LaBonge went long for a pass. That is, before he nearly ran into a podium. Is this the City Council or is it Romper Room? What happened next? You guessed it, due to all the antics, by the time the Council got to the renters' issue, there were no longer enough members present to maintain a quorom.
Matt Meyerhoff, until recently a reporter for the LA Business Journal, tells us he has joined the staff of Councilman Greig Smith as Director of Communications.
As convicted murderer Tookie Williams awaits a clemency hearing with Governor Schwarzenegger that could halt his rapidly approaching execution activity surrounding the case is heating up. A number of Williams' supporters held vigil outside a Santa Monica restaurant formerly owned by the Governor. In the meantime, a sort of organic blog of sorts on the subject is brewing over at Craig's List. The ultimate in anony-blogging is in full tow - with opinions all over the maps and comments ranging from articulate to offensive. Not for the faint of heart, but click here if you want to read more.

Rosendahl needs to have his staff roaming the chamber when his consituents are there.
Jan Perry knows when her consituents show up and other councilmembers aides as well have their staff walking up to people in chambers in the morning, to make sure that if council gets out of hand they can remind the people their consituents are there.
I have to be honest with all of you though the whole city council should worry about anyone who arrives in chambers and be cognizant and mindful of thier arrival. But due to the childish boundary antics of our council people if you aint within those boundaries you don't mater to them. But I can't generalize because many councilmembers don't display this behavior and I believe the territoriality of council districts does play some how in how the city counci conducts itself as a group subconciously.
The thing to do I have learned , although this shouldn't be the case is walk to the front of chambers before it starts and wave at your councilperson , gotta yell though , but at least you are there and also call you council office to elt them know you are on your way , so they know you are coming, but if you are coming on an issue that you are opposed to , best not to .
