Great job Mayor Frank. There's another piece of property on the corner of Mission and Cesar Chavez that Muerlo just bought. It was the old Gemline company that had been there for over 25 years. Seems odd that Muerlo is buying up all this expensive property right in the heart of downtown or its outskirts. Didn't he buy property near Staples that was going to be used for another school?

I wonder what AV's office did to piss off Mayor Frank. No longer returning his phone calls now that the election is long over and the first 100 days are up?
or was he one of those who didn't even get a rejection letter?

What's the connection between Murello and Fernando Guerra. Fernando is teaching at Loyola and heads up the The Center for the Study of Los Angeles, yet he's a registar lobbyist for Murello. You should check out contributions Guerra has made to any and all entities. We all know whats going on here, it's called find out where the district is going and planning facilities and tie up the land, then sell it for a premieum. Murello is slick and will do what it takes to make a buck. You also forgot the IE Murello made in the Mayor's race.

Fernando Guerra is one of those "Latino experts" that the press always seems to call when there is a significant Latino race. Only thing is, Guerra has never stepped foot inside a political campaign office, other that to smooch with Alatorre and Villaraigosa. He doesn't know the inner workings of campaigns and through Alatorre, Gastelum, Hernandez and Villaraiagosa, has made himself a good amount of money, much more than any other Chicano Professor. Yet he is always called upon to offer his "objective" view.
And the when it is obvious he cannot be objective - because he already cashed the check - he directs the press to his stooge, David Ayon. David has never set foot in a campiagn office either and would rather wait in the sidelines to write about other people making history. David never got his Ph.D., although he did graduate from Princeton, and now must serve as Fernando Guerra's stooge. He is, however, Monica Lozano's live in boyfriend - she's the editor of the Spanish Newspaper La Opinion. Connecting the dots now? David is known as Lozano's "mantenido", the best english translation for this is "kept woman."
And then you guys wonder why the younger Latino generation is up in arms against the old guard.

Guerra is a low-life who pimps Loyola.

Mayor Frank,
You want to look into LAUSD land deals? Why don't you look into the sweetheart deal LAUSD gave Jose Huizar's sister for her property. Her property in Boyle Heights was purchased when Huizar was president of the school board. Ironically, LAUSD didn't "drop the ball" on this purchase, as Muruelo says they dropped the ball on Taylor Yard before he purchased it and nixed any notion of a Glassel Park High School. LAUSD purchased Huizar's sister's house and yet no schoool has gone up there.

Does anyone know f Meruelo has donated to Jose's campaign?
I hope LA reporters learn their lesson and not contact Guerra or his cronies for quotes or their fixed "survey." They did that during the mayoral campaign only to find out later that Guerra was an Antonio person.

Body guy?

Back when I was running for mayor, I studied carefully the correlation between campaign contributions, on the one hand, and receipt of taxpayers' money, on the other. My conclusion? The most lucrative "investment" anyone can make is to make "contributiions" to local career politicians. The return on your "investment" can easily exceed 800%.
Anonymous said:
Finally you're making sense Walter. But you're a little off on your numbers. The Florida Airport donors to Villaraigosa gve what, $50K? They are going to make at least $150,000,000 off their deal- that's a 3000% return.
Frank Villalobos, Barrio Planners and Ron Martinez - Gloria's husband - each gave the $500 max to Huizar. Given recent history, these peole have taken in nearly $50,000,000 in MTA funds (they've got their hands on other taxpayer money in several other pet projects), that's a 10,000% return.
Welcome to Eastside Latino politics. Now you know why eastside campaigns are so nasty.

Walter, who was your body guy?

$95,600
If Muruelo where to turn around and sell Taylor Yard back to the school district at $30,000,000 he would make a $6,000,000 profit. That's a return of 67%. Throw in all his other deals and he's sure to make a casino style return of
%120 TO %150. I'm not an accountant so my numbers may be off, but you get the picture.

Can someone without a dog in any current races explain what all this mish-mosh means? Looks to me like the guys just spreading his seed all over the local political landscape.

And this is not counting Meruelo's 170k in independent expenditures during the last campaign. Villaraigos.

Mayor Frank
So you must know about the Capitol incident with AV and that lady he hit.
Anonymous said:
Very good insight on Meruelo - check out chris pak also. he's tight with this guy and does all the dirty work for him. Another AV appointee and his wife who is an airhead has been appointed to some education commission. These people don't know anything about community and they should be locked up!

Are you setting up the real Mayor, Mayor Frank?
Antonio is going to get pissed off at you

10:14 & Mayor Frank:
Antonio never hit this woman, he got the shit beat out of him by her. He did get some visible scratches.
Mayor Frank, if you neer heard of this incident then you weren't in the inner circle. Parke knows her name. This was one of the incidents highlighted in the infamous Torres mailers and one of the reasons Tony's camp went bezerk. What was that statement from Tony's camp to the Times, "We will not be commenting on the content of the mailers." I wonder why?

Inside, outside... who care!
What does all the Murelo stuff REALLY mean?
Anonymous said:
It means Muruelo is buying himself the City of L.A., just like his dad bought Miami.
Anonymous said:
10:40 Can you give us a clue as to her name, maybe a rhyme or similarity?
Anonymous said:
I think you are doing this to cover up for something. You are clearly distancing yourself from the Mayor and telling us you don't take sides. I find it peculiar of you to all of a sudden distance yourself the way you are. Suddenly, you are now not in the camp. What happened, was there a paper link to you, Antonio, Parke, and this blog site? Did you get caught and advised not to get Antonio tarnished, so instead trash him? Make everyone believe you are not affiliated with him anymore.
Someone is in the HOT SEAT...it is pretty clear on what is going on here.

Richard Meruelo and his parents Homero Meruelo are considered slumlords in Miami rentals.
They are considered the Beverly Hillbillies of Miami.

LOL re "body guy." Is that like a "body guard?" Do my German Shepards count?
Anonymous said:
I'm not sure I like the sound of what "body guy" brings the mind, even in a political climate. . .
Not that there's ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT!!

Land Deals? What other deals does LAUSD do? With city workers, health industry employees, and friends.
Do you want a piece of raw meat?
Here it is:
Why did LAUSD accept fake addresses for majority of the kids in Magnet School Program. The Magnet School seats can go to children who actually live in the LAUSD district (community). How many parents do you know, use a fake address to get the kid in an LAUSD Magnet. After school kids are picked up by their parents who drive Mercedes, SUV's, BMW's and are head out of the area, you see them head home, away from the Barrios. Sure, LAUSD Magnet schools are good enough for their preppy kids, but not good enough to live in! Some live in Covina, West Covina, Long Beach, Bell, Compton, South San Gabriel, Alhambra, and many others. Why are you letting this happen, or are we the citizens of the area to blame for not speaking out?
I know of 6 families who do this. Will I have to rat them out, I hope not, I want LAUSD to investigate and find out how many of our tax dollars are going to teaching kids that do not live in our districts.
Los Angeles city workers have abused this program, while living in middle class neighborhoods and taking spots away from neighborhood kids. USC employees have also abused this, one particular employee has 2 kids in LAUSD while living in a middle class Alhambra neighborhood, and why not send them to Alhambra? She says this is closer to her work, and the program is what she wants for her kids.

Hey Walter,
Why the heck did you not run for Council District 14? You could have done nothing, like AV and got elected Mayor like him. You might reconsider this one day.
Anonymous said:
1:21 - SHUT UP WITH YOUR WORTHLESS DRIVEL! You want LAUSD to waste resources to investigate tens of thousands of addresses?
You're a classic moron. And if you snitch, Karma will bite you in your sorry a$$.

1:58 PM
You must be one of the guilty parents. If you lied, you must worry. If you didn't, then don't get mad.
Anonymous said:
5:48 don't listen to 1:58! This person is already reaping what bad karma they seeded by lying to LAUSD.
1:58 is the classic moron. They lied, they will reap BAD KARMA. Sad, taking away seats from neighborhood kids!

A great job clueing us in...
Anonymous said:
Ditto, had no clue LAUSD let this problem become a norm.
Thanks 1:21 blogger.

Thanks to the former board president RM knows all the land the district is serious about putting schools. That's why JH has had so many donations from he and his family...
Plus with AV in his right pocket, and wanting to take over the district RM will be sure that those sites he has purchased will be brought back by the district at higher prices instead of purchasing other sites...What a scam...
