No offence to Mike Antonovich, but how, exactly, are pornographic sites going to be blocked at the County's libraries? Usually, the geniuses who want to "protect" the public with theses measures set up filters to deny a user access to a page that has any obscene words. These filter lists always seem to include things like "breast", "anus", etc. If you want to read about breast cancer, or enemas, or whatever, these sites are typically blocked too.
I think that, if the sites are going to be blocked, we ought to go whole hog and have members of Antonovich's staff hand-select domains to be blocked. Especially anything that has "Antonovich" and "jerk" in the same sentence. If his idea gets made into official policy, I am sure that there will be plenty of web sites of that nature that he'll need to "protect" us from.

Yeah, I've wondered about filters and blockers like that. What if a teenager wanted to know about Circumcision, would that be considered pornographic?
