This is the city: Los Angeles, California. I work here. I'm an ex-mayor. Los Angeles is a magnet for people from all over the world. Some of them run for public office. Inevitably some of them stray from the golden rule and rule for those that have the gold. That's when I go to work. My name is Yorty. I'm a dead pol.

I don't know her but May you rest in Peace Tracey, I will pray for you.
Tracey was a longtime newsperson for KFI and later hosted the morning show with Terry Rae Elmer, which was the first all woman LA talkradio program. I believe that show was before Bill Handel. At one point Tracey had a baby and hosted her show from home while on maternity leave.
She also co-hosted a radio program with Peter Tilden on KMPC and I believe she hosted a show on the successor station to KMPC, KTZN which became an "all woman" station about the same time Tilden was sent over to KABC to co-host with Ken Minyard. She also contributed reports to the Minyard show and filled in for various slots on KABC over the years. I also think she was doing news fairly recently on KFWB or KNX.
She was a great broadcaster, with a terrific personality and sense of humor, but with strong journalistic credentials as well. I am not sure how hold she was, but I don't think she was more than 50, if that.
MY HEART GOES OUT TO TRACEY'S FAMILY. I FIRST BECAME FAMILIAR WITH TRACEY WHEN SHE DID THE SHOW WITH PETER TILDEN. HER COMEDIC TIMING WAS GREAT AND THEY MADE A TERRIFIC TEAM. I MISSED HER AND WAS ALWAYS GLAD TO HEAR HER VOICE WHEN SHE DID A REPORT ON OTHER SHOWS. I WISH I HAD KNOWN THAT SHE WAS ILL, I WISH I HAD WRITTEN TO TELL HER HOW SHE LIFTED MY SPIRITS AND MADE MY DAYS BETTER.
I was a close friend of Tracey's during the Albuquerque and Seattle years. I spent time in the studio with her in each city...and in her arms. We parted so that she could pursue her dream of making Network Radio.
You made it, Tracey. You made it.
