Sherman's Follies
Rarely do we check in with the national political scene, but this one involves a local Congressman who you all know and it just couldn't be passed up.
The target of this post is a staffer for Congressman Brad Sherman.
Now, we have all made bone-headed mistakes. As we have pointed out here quite a few times, you need to be careful with e-mails because it will come back to bite you in the ass. In this case, he deserves the beating.
From Wonkette:
Why Congressional staffers should disable "reply all":
Mathews is the LD for Congressman Brad Sherman. It's not blogging about your sex life, but it won't get him a book deal, either.

So Sherman's got a job opening?

Don't worry so much. Do what our Mayor did in the past.
Admit it.
Repent.
And Move on.
And he still has a job. Miracles. Do not fire anyone for being honest or using freedom of speech. How lame.

This is as racist as it gets! The caged kids in Ohio are black; the foster parents are white. Let's assume the Brad Sherman staff idiot who sent this white. Ya think?

What an absurd thing to say. I know the staffer in question and he is no racist. Quiet the opposite --- he is a liberal progressive who has spent his entire career in Washington fighting for justice and inclusion. I read the story about the kids in Ohio in the LA Times and heard about it on TV and on the radio. Never once was the race of either the kids or the foster parents mentioned.

Sounds like a case of trying to be a comedian but not worthy of any real attention. Why don't we concentrate on getting the Gulf States back up and running and addressing the racism at work in leaving thousands of African Americans stranded in the face of a hurricane?
