Googlin' Through The Years

Our friends at Google (the parent company of Blogger who makes this all possible, so yes, they are our friends) are celebrating their 7th birthday. They took the time today to announce that their search index is now three times the size of any other search engine.

Google is very cool and just keeps getting cooler. Recommendation: If you haven't, download Google Earth. Its a free mapping and satellite imaging program that is just fantastic and extraordinarly powerful. Lots of potential political uses here in terms of urban planning, getting out the vote, gerrymandering legislative districts, etc. Or, just fly to Paris or the pyramids in Egypt or the US-Mexican border or wherever.

Happy Birthday guys!

Various Googlebombs:

Google Search: "Martini" (alas, eighth slot, but it's good with that word to be on the first page)

Google Search: "Roderick" (I'm LAObserving results page six for the local one)

Google Search: "80 Fake Neighborhood Watches" (Where else?)
