DOT Steals Lolipops From Kids

Talk about cruel. The LA DOT left 90 kids waiting for a bus and then said NO. Back to your classes. No field trip for you.

CANOGA PARK - Ninety kids at Canoga Park Lutheran School, with 15 parents and teachers, stood huddled on a porch in the rain last Tuesday clutching the King Tut tickets they bought months ago as they waited eagerly for two free buses they had ordered through a city charter program.

At the last minute, a call came from the city - there would be no buses. There had been a "clerical" mistake.

There would be no field trip to the sold-out "Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs" exhibit, so the disappointed grade-schoolers, some in tears, trooped back inside holding their soggy, nonrefundable $20 tickets and sack lunches.

Good news is that non-government entities are coming to the rescue. Figures!
