Nick is Back!
Wow, what a morning. It's never fun to have cold pizza for breakfast as you recover from a hangover triggered by staying up all night with my fellow VFW members in sunny Simi Valley.
So as i ate my pizza from my home in the San Fernando Valley and watched Channel 35, who should pop up on my screen but lil-tricky-nicky.
There he was complaining about the New Mayor and his old CD 14 staff. He complained and complained and sounded like a whiny little girl. It's astonishing that any voter would want him as their DA (wait they didn't) or their councilman (wait the don't, he was defeated).
Listen Pacheco, going around picking fights with folks more powerful than you is always a good way of getting exactly what you asked for -- an electoral pounding.
Leave well enough alone, resign from the race, go back and drink beers with Eliseo and stop with all the complaining already.

Proof of Villaraigosa's "claim" to have started 80 neighborhood watches in CD14, to earn his $300K salary for two years. He never proved it, but you said YOU could, Chief Faker.
Until you produce that (as you SWORE your could and would do, repeatedly, just a few short months ago), then shut your lying face... you have NO credibility (even less than his DIS-honor, the mayor, if that's possible).
Yes, Elisieo, the Champion of the People, the man who acquired the necessary signatures for the recall of our now Mayor, Antonio, is a perfect companion for Nick. In fact, they make a great trio, Nick, Eliseo and Ricardo.

Nick will be squashed in the election (again). There is no love lost between him and The Mayor, and if a miracle occurs and he is actually elected, you may be assured that he will receive treatment that will make Hahn's treatment of Councilman Villaraigosa look gentle.

Just pose for more pictures, AV -- the nightmare in CD14 is almost over. We'll get a decent, hard-working public servant back by years end, and budget-busting Jose can make guest appearances at new elementary schools named after dead conquistadors.
Good for Pacheco. Obviously you don't know the whole story. Antonio being the control freak that he is having a community clean up in Aug. The 1st flyer sent out states "Antoio will be guest appearance." Then a week later another flyer goes out with also guest appearance by Jose Huizar. Then a flyer goes out for National Night Out. Two police stations Northeast/Hollenbeck because Antonio wants lots of people. 1st flyer states Antonio special guest. Next flyer goes out has special guest appearance by Jose Huizar. Little Jose can't get an appearance by himself without holding on to Antonio's balls. Now constituents are pissed CD14 is using their resources campaigning for little Jose. No one knows Jose nor do they care. Word is this crap is flying through the community and the next meetings are going to be volatile going off on both Antonio and Little Jose.

I have yet to hear why, after all their bragging, Lee Baca has yet to appear on any official endorsement notices for Nick. Instead of sitting around all day criticizing MAV and Jose, why don't you go out there and collect some signatures. If you could get just half of what the Eliseo people claimed they had, you could be the first "official" candidate having qualified for the ballot. Not that is press release worthy.

For the record:
Nick Pacheco supports Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa hosting the Northeast Day of Service and he only raised concerns when CD 14 converted the Mayor from host to guest.
Last week Laura Barrera from Huizar's office sent out a flyer including Huizar as a special guest for this CD 14 event in David Tokofsky's school district.
None of this would happen if the office was being overseen by the Chief Legislative Office instead of a political appointee.
Once again, Nick supports Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa hosting the Day of Service and only raised these issues once it became clear that CD 14 was furthering a particular candidate with City resources.

Well, I guess as far as logical thinking being an integral part of Pacheco's campaign is concerned, we can just throw that idea out the window.
When Pacheco was the Councilmember back in 2001, he saw his district come out overwhelmingly for Villaraigosa to be the next Mayor. That alone should've sent him the message that Villaraigosa is somebody who needs to be dealt with carefully and cautiously.
When Villaraigosa decided to run for Councilmember against Pacheco, Pacheco should have been wise enough to recognize the reminder of what he found out in 2001: Villaraigosa comes packed with the credentials and the skilled staff to clear the road and go right through. I'm sure that Robert would agree to that after reviewing the fact that Pacheco didn't break 40% when the dust settled on March 4, 2003.
And now, after Villaraigosa comes through and beats Hahn by almost the same margin that he beat Pacheco in 2003, you thought that Pacheco would have avoided going after the same people who put him in the history books. You'd assume that he would avoid bringing into the electoral equation the people who gave him the distinguised honor of being "the first incumbent elected official in the City of Los Angeles to lose in a re-election primary". I guess I was wrong.
Pick your plots at Ressurection Cemetery, because you'll be done for good after this election. You wanted a war? Now you have it.
So, where is Ricardo Torres, III when we really need him?

Why is Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez refusing to allow the budget vote to reach the floor of the assembly? Could it be that he is fearful of the actual vote?
Speaker Nunez is calling the Republicans "obstructionists"...how can this be when the vote is being ''held hostage'' by Speaker Nunez?
Last Saturday, in the LA Daily News, in reference to Republican “Big 5” member Kevin McCarthy’s charge that Nunez is holding up the vote. Speaker Nunez was then quoted as saying, "Mr. McCarthy...can say whatever he wants - McCarthy is full of (expletive), if you ask me," Nunez said, upon exiting the governor’s office. "Mr. McCarthy needs to act like an adult and stop playing games. Last time I checked, I was the speaker and I can shut down the session whenever I want."
Remember, Democrat Speaker Fabian Nunez is a “not ready for prime time” speaker. He is afraid that the assembly holds enough votes to pass this budget along to the ‘red carpet’ of the California State Senate. If that happens, Nunez would lose his “speakership."CRO
LA Times.....Huizar said his office added his name to the flier, and he defended his right to do so....(NOW HOW ARROGANT IS THIS HE ADDED HIS NAME TO A FLYER WITHOUT ANYONE'S APPROVAL)...Sarno declined to comment on the matter Wednesday and referred all inquiries to Padilla's office.
Padilla said the city Ethics Commission probably would look into Pacheco's complaint about Huizar. But he also said it was "very unlikely" that Sarno would be replaced.....Pacheco also said a caretaker should have been appointed from the city's chief legislative analyst's office, which is the custom.....For example, when Councilman Martin Ludlow left office this month to become head of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, Padilla chose a member of the legislative office's staff to fill in.....But Padilla chose Lisa Sarno in the 14th District, because, he said, "There was a genuine interest and enthusiasm for her to serve the district."

BOND VOTE ABRUPTLY TABLED
Board members to revisit issue again today
Minutes away from taking a vote on whether to put a multimillion-dollar construction bond on the November ballot, the Los Angeles school board was forced to table the issue when board member Julie Korenstein abruptly left, followed by Jose Huizar.
A Korenstein staffer said she had to leave to attend to a "personal family issue."
"I had told them I had to leave at 6 and I'm leaving. I have an appointment in the (San Fernando) Valley," Korenstein said at her car in the district headquarter's parking garage.
Huizar, who also had a Wednesday evening appointment, left when board President Marlene Canter started talking about tabling the vote. He would have stayed for a vote, he said.
And this guy ran for DA? Just read the Times story on Tricky Nick's CC appearance yesterday. You should have given us the details, Parker, if only for laughs. This is what he considers a charge worth making in public? An argument? Evidence?
What would Tricky Nick say about a councilman funneling public funds to somebody running an independent expenditure campaign on his behalf?

Jose was stupid enough to admit in the LA Times that he added his name to the flyer and sent it out. Didn't someone post he also LIED about a gov rep being at that LA32 meeting? Politics!!! Sleazy Huizy endorsed Pacheco back when Nick ran against Antonio. Huizar was a hard campaigner for Nick. Now he switches to Antonio's side after telling anyone who would listen what a gangster, corrupt, lying sack of shit Antonio is. Only in politics can you be THAT TWO FACED.
In regards to the Chamber mixer
The Chamber is a private entity which is not funded with public funds. Anyone can be a member if they decide to pay the membership fee - just like any other chamber in the world.
They can partner with anyone they want. The flyer listed Jose's name as LAUSD member not as Candidate for CD 14 - so that does not violate any 501-C3 codes.
Why are you associating LA-32 with this event when they are no where on the flyer?
This is a war Nick. I'm sure it will be getting a whole lot dirtier as we get closer to November. Let's all try to stick to issues and accomplishments (or lack there of). You should know how this game is played. I bet you didn’t complain when XB would parade you around.

With the pathetic financial showing that will be released next week, it looks like it will be a miracle if you get paid. Take a lesson from the former La Colectiva kids that Nick hired who never got paid -watch your back.
MONICA: You're going to have to crack the whip on your D.O. staff. That one blunder by your field rep at the LA-32 has been the only fodder used against Jose as of late. Add to that the name on the flyer and his poorly thought out response and we start seeing a lack of leadership that can only hurt. I agree. Huizar is weak (done nothing for Dist. 2) and Nick is scary.
Enrique, Nick never hired any La Colectiva kids, that was Becerra, and he didn't pay them. It's all in the DA reports. Yet none of these kids ever brought any action against La Colectiva, despite being directed by Antonio's minions - try and figure out why that didn't happen.
And this isn't Huizar's first screw up. I have that flyer in my hand saying that he was born in CD 14, I guess someone annexed Zacatecas, Mexico.

Aren't there better candidates that can be convinced to run?
The word today after everyone reading the LA Times piece is "INTEGRITY." Someone please give Jose a dictionary. How can he make such a statement "I added my name to the flyer" and not think it looks bad.
There were many kids that were not paid on time by La Colectiva. I don't think it was out of malice but out of the fact that XB's campaign ran out of money and couldn't pay the bill.
With all the stuff that Nick was doing to "help" XB, he should have done a whole lot more to take care of the people that helped him win against Griego in the first place. Everyone out there knows how it feels not to be paid on time or worse yet not paid at all.
If La Colectiva came through - then great. It sucks that Martin had to be put in that position in the first place. The fact still remains that Nick will not be able to raise enough money to pay for all the expenses necessary to win a campaign.
You know what; I see two very different campaigns here. Nick wants to run his campaign his way. Jose wants to win. I think they will both get what they want.

For myself, I have not decided who to support as of yet. However, I find your posts very intimidating to say the least. It is a real turn off and for that matter, I am leaning towards more of Nick's side. Why would you threaten someone on a blog. My colleague of LA32 that just posted is upset upon finding out the truth of rogue staff members who Villaraigosa has in local CD14 offices. My concern is evident as I see some staff members act hypocritically towards our now mayor. He deserves a better staff, at least locally. This staff is running a dirty campaign to instigate both candidates and publishing information on this blog that should be private. The chaos is beginning at LA32 and I'm not quite sure who you are, but I will not vote for a candidate that has a person like you, El Sereno, threatening people, I'd rather vote for the other guy that follows the law.

I agree that the CD14 staffers are campaigning for Jose. They've probably been told by Antonio to do so. They are intimindating, threatening and anyone who says anything they don't like at a community meeting they immediately get on their cell phones to report. I have never seen CD14 so political. Lameboy Padilla lied in today's LA Times stating that Sarno was wanted in that slot. He should have taken a poll first.

Don't you get it yet? Alvin Parra is LA32 President and Chamber of Commerce President and in the future the President of Jupiter. He campaigns, fundraisers and makes money off of this. He is bloody pathetic. His demeanor is horrible and Cynthia Ruiz is related to Villaraigosa, both these individuals are in the neighborhood council LA32 but switch positions to their convenience.

Is this the type of staff members our Mayor has working for him? Mayor Villaraigosa, you may consider getting rid of this type of filth in your office. I admire your service and candidacy, I voted for you and you deserve better representation.
When you're dealing with a blog where people can pretend to be one person or make statements that are not factual, it's amazing to me how you would take a comment like that one made by 10:38 pm and actually for one second believe that it would be from a Villaraigosa/CD14 staffmember.
Most of what is said on this blog is foolish and goes along the lines with the dirty campaign tactics that for so long have strengthened voter apathy throughout our communities. The one thing that I feel we should all be fortunate about is that this website is mostly visited and blogged on by people who are political insiders or by people who want to feel some sense of strength and entitlement.
Perfect example is the posting by 6:14 pm. The person goes on to make a claim that their personal life was invaded by LA-32 members and by a member of Villaraigosa's staff. How about you post your name and name those who you are accusing of doing this?
And for the record, something tells me that the 10:38 pm was posted with the intention of making it look like it came from a Villaraigosa staffer or an LA-32 member but is infact either blogger 6:14 pm or a friend of that person.
I'm sure that some of these words will fall on deaf ears, but at least I tried. I will just have to accept the fact that there are just some people out there who will never learn to take defeat like an adult and know what mature behavior is.
