Pothole Mayor
Yesterday I gave you the Governor fixing potholes. Today it is our mayor's turn.The LA Times:
The last time this two-mile stretch of Burbank Boulevard in North Hollywood was repaved, Dwight D. Eisenhower was president, Walter Alston was the rookie manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers and "From Here to Eternity" took the Oscar for best picture. And the two men who presided over Monday's celebratory asphalt-laying -- Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Councilman Tom LaBonge
Here are the funny parts of an otherwise boring story;
1) Let me continue the sentence pasted above to it's entirety -- And the two men who presided over Monday's celebratory asphalt-laying --Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Councilman Tom LaBonge -- were both still in diapers.
2) After offering brief comments, Villaraigosa and LaBonge donned hardhats and construction vests and clambered aboard a giant paving machine. If the patch of asphalt near the McDonald's on Burbank Boulevard remains rough, motorists know who to blame.
So much for objectivity...

I guess Tom LaBonge isn't as dumb as he looks.
That, my friend, is impossible.
Like I said previous Antonio didn't give a damn about the potholes in CD14 when there was all that rain. Now all of a sudden he's wearing a hard hat. He's become a joke being at any photo op he can. People are getting sick and tired of seeing him in the media doing NOTHING. He critized Hahn for being out of the city during 9/11 but guess what Antonio was out of town during the London bombings. He critized Hahn for his commission appointments and guess what? Antonio has appointed his campaign supporters and family already.
AV has learned the Riordan rule of Politics. Take advantage of every photo opportunity and public opening to LOOK like you're doing something.
All I know is, ever since you posted that original pot hole post.... I have no time to come here. It's all I can do to drag myself off to a neighborhood council meeting or any other kind of meeting because of your link to the Comedy Central site.
I want to watch all of the videos on there. Sure the Schwarzenegger pothole was hilarious, but now I want to watch all of them.
I especially liked the one about the guy fighting City Hall in Connecticut.
You do yourself a disservice by sending us off to other links... But thanks.
whatever happened to that sinkhole that public commissioner Yolanda Fuentes caused? is AV gonna fix that too?
