Earlier tonight Mr Roderick did some digging at City Hall regarding an item i had posted about a leak.
Mr. Roderick,
I'll always concede to you and the other City Hall reporters the job of reporting the news, because you are journalist, I am not.
I am Chief William Parker a man who at times must say things on the blog to get messages across to folks that need to hear them.
I have my sources, you have yours.
But on another note Kevin, I've stayed clear of any personal attacks on you, and while i recognize you noted that in an e-mail to me, your readers may get another impression.

Who is Judith Miller?
Mayor Sam's is easily the most entertaining, informative and readable blog on city politics.
Roderick is a prissy bore, who is afraid of losing his self-annointed status as queen of the LA blogosphere. After a couple of minutes of LA Observed its Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I hope you MayorSam fans realize what's at stake here. Kevin Roderick is trying to intimidate another City Hall-oriented blogger. After ignoring scoop after scoop here, he took comments way out of context, ran with them to the Mayor's Office, and tried to burn the whole blog with them. You people who like the luxury of MayorSam should be up in arms. He's done it before, and he's doing it again. He tries to intimidate bloggers who hone in on the City Hall beat.
I put a call in to Robin Kramer's office myself this morning. No, I don't expect a call back; and as a blogger who was wayyyy out in front on Antonio's train, sure, I'll be disappointed. But what she did in kowtowing to Roderick's bullying of this blog was completely bush league, and I don't think she knows that yet. She'll learn quickly, I'm confident; she's a quick study.
No one, especially a piss ass non-blogger like Kevin Roderick is going to intimidate us. What he calls personal attacks is criticism of his content. He really needs to grow a thicker skin. This is really sad. What Robin Kramer knows is we supported AV and Roderick was pro-Hahn. Sad little man. Now back to fishing.
As a matter of fact, Robin Kramer did return the call. I said after a certain point that I just wanted to talk to her about this as a citizen who likes to read, and who cares about the concept of government transparency via a healthy local blogosphere, and not so much as a blogger myself.
I invited her click around a little bit more when bloggers start asking her questions regarding other other blogs. I think she will. She is indeed on top of things.
It is Antonio, you have to believe it.
To hell with west of City of Los Angeles
It is sad to observe a person like Roderick stoop so low and cause chaos on a blog site which is one of the best in Los Angeles.
Two thumbs up for Mayor Sam and the others. Put it this way, without you guys, there is no actual freedom of speech that us citizens, voters, and interested parties can voice our opinions.
I will support you guys all the way.
All Roderick is doing is driving more readers to Mayor Sam. Does he know that?
Cheers to Joe! To K-Rod - For someone who points fingers about unhealthy obsessions, I am going to challenge you to look in the mirror. I know it might be hard to look at the reflection - I’ve seen your picture - but you are the one making phone calls and posting info about Mayor Sam. You are the one who talks shit at public events about Mayor Sam. You are the one who is constantly trying to out the contributors to this blog. If this blog is so beneath you - as you say - why don’t you let the people here do their thing and you can go play in traffic.

A blogger who at times is hated and sometimes liked, but that is the real world, right?
It's no problem. I'm really not the crusader-type, but keeping City Hall transparent is pretty important to me. But more importantly: this blog is the most entertaining blog (for me) in the LA blogosphere, even as FourthFloor was for a time, and anything I can do for it is pure pleasure. I even love the comments; nearly every one makes me laugh, even the most determinately Hahnista's. Maybe you have to have worked for the City, or maybe you have to have suffered the indignity of having been sent to a few jaycee meetings, or a few neighborhood council meetings, but I really like it here.
Politics is an acquired taste that not as many warm to. I myself even feel far more in touch with my cultural side than my political side. But this is a great place, and I look forward to reading it every morning.
And of course it absolutely must be said:

Roderick was always boring, but now he's getting bitchy and negative and aggressive like a Cathy Seipp, Glenn Reynolds, or Hugh Hewitt.
Mayor Sam is funny, and it's way more informative for genuine political junkies. Long live the sister city
