Interesting to note that from Shaw to Hahn, we've had only 7 mayors in about 70 years time. However, we've had 12 US Presidents.

Author: TED ROHRLICHROBERT LOPEZ; TIMES STAFF

"He's just this big, genuine guy that everyone seems to love," said Parke Skelton, a consultant to former Assembly Speaker and Los Angeles mayoral candidate Antonio Villaraigosa, one of the politicians who helped. "He'll be there wearing this apron, covered in barbecue sauce, making these huge slabs of beef."

mayor Sam, wy don't you just say it, first Latino mayor since 1876. Why else would you post all these mayors. Come on, you can say it, first Latino mayor since 1876. That's what Tony's people are telling voters in the eastside. And it worked so well in 2001 too.

WEATHER OR NOT? Hey Nacho, you're really Dallas Raines ain't you. Why don't you stick to bad predictions about fog and wind, instead of blowing hot air.

(Did you happen to know, doofus, that Latinos/Hispanics, unless they belong to another race as well (like Black Hispanics), IS considered "white" pretty much in every population survey or census? Why do you think there's a separate block - like your head - for "white non-Hispanic."

Next time, don't check a box on the form, just add "-ist" to the word "race" at the top and let that do for you.

That said, ADV WILL lose. . . not because of race, in spite of it.

BAD is bad, in any race creed or color. Not because L.A. isn't ready for a Latino mayor -- but because because it's not ready for a do-nothing race-BAITER like ADV.

PRETTY SAD, Mayor sam, reduced to repeating posts from six months ago... just CAN'T find anything new, good to say about Tony V. I sympathize with you. I supported him early on when he was Councilman, then got tired of telling people -- "just wait, he's get started on something good soon."

Nope, sorry, you backing a lightweight. Maybe less than a lightweight whatever is smaller. I been down that road, nobody wins but Tony's career.

Don't think ADV's campaign is running on empty? Here's proof - from their own Website. Last news story they posted was TWO WEEKS ago, about the Hertzberg endorsement.

UPDATED: 04/14/2005
Hertzberg Gets Behind Villaraigosa

From the L.A. Times. They write something about the campaign every day, but nothing HE would want people to read on his Website.

WHY? Because NOW he's getting the full cross-examination, and looks VERY bad. Bad debates, worthless throwaway endorsments, and fundraising out of town to try ans replace substance with money.

ALL the money in the world for ads, and nothing to say. All the FREE media attention he could want and he's afraid to face it. ALL the rich westside liberal guilt-ridden paleface support an ACL-OOSER could ever need, and NO new material to convince people in the middle he could do a better job.

You even have to drive MILES in his own district to even FIND a lawn sign with his name on it.

Lights out, ADV. Nobody's home for you anymore!

I didn't know this until I read today. The "Pardons for Sale" scandal
This scandal has angered two large blocks of voters in Los Angeles. The first is the L.A. Black community. The Black community is asking why the thirty Black youths that were imprisoned along with Carlos Vignali were not released as well. In fact, Carlos Vignali was the principal culprit in the crime. He was the one that provided the money necessary for the crack cocaine operation and was one of the main leaders.

Vignali, Vignali, Vignali.

Is that all you Morons can come up with?

That is nine years old and is yesterday's news.

The media will give it short shrift.

You'all need to find something more subsantive than AV's letter (for which he has said, publicly, he regrets.

Jimmy does not have the huevos to stand up for his mistakes and take them like a man.

We report, you decide.

Don't let the vehemence of the rejected lovers influence you, just look at the facts.

Corruption, corruption, corruption. Is that STILL all you ADV-lovers can come up with (and STILL with no proof!)

What newspapers are YOU subsisting on, 8:52 p.m. Anon? Vignali's been getting more press this time around than it did four years ago at this time, and Hahn's barely had to spend a dime on TV ads to do it. He's getting hours of FREE media on major drive time radio and local TV.

At LEAST 1 out of very 5 current, likely voters in L.A. didn't live here four years ago -- and Vignali is NEWS to them. Four years ago Vignali came up so fast and late, even a lot of long-time L.A. voters didn't understand what it was all about and what role ADV played. Now they want to know. . . what WAS all that screaming about four years ago?? Why DID people turn on Tony V. just when it looked like he was going to win (and if it was just a "cheap" shot, why's it got such legs)?

It's news, and it's being covered, still -- cheaper, and most cost-effectively for the Hahn campaign. With the exception of the Tony-lovers, a guy taking money for helping get a hardcore thug out on the street is a WHOLE lot juicier than somebody "allegedly" getting favored contracts for campaign donations.

Let's see -- "alleged" pay for play vs. admitted pay to pardon a major slimeball who can get at you and your neighbors again. Tough call (well, not really). You paid hacks enjoy the alleged "scandals" involving microscopic portions of the city budget being abused in some way -- the kind of stuff everyond EXPECTS big city mayor's to be doing (whether they do or not). Meanwhile the real people who vote keep thinking -- DAMN, that guy could be selling dope to MY kid.

OH YEAH, I forgot, Tony said he make a "boo boo!" That makes it ALL better. . .

What's NOT "news" anymore (the key part of that word being NEW), is the unfounded, cannot be proven, charges of "corruption" in the Hahn administration pounded out in great detail, with NO proof, for months now.

Timing, timing, timing. . .

When will Tony's hacks ever learn (2009, 2013, 2017... never?)

Jack Weiss must feel like a real asshole. He had a press conference on Friday slamming Hahn about the $700,000 in overtime to get Van Nuys City Hall completed. Well, Well, Well, Jack should have done his homework. Yesterday Hahn gave the press the CITY COUNCIL MOTION THAT OK'D THE OVERTIME AND ANTONIO VOTED YES ON THE MOTION. Ooopps Big big mistake. Don't forget Jack is a ex-federal prosecutor. Can you imagine the shit work he did back then. This is the type of idiot Antonio has supporting him.

Parke is coming off like a real amateur here. I bet Tony had forgotten about that vote, or more than likely, knowing Tony, he told Jack and Parke that he had voted against it. See what happens when you start believing your own lies. What is one of the by-products of cocaine - illusions of grandeur. Looks like not only Tony is back on the pipe - but Parke also.

FH - despite all the sniffing, nothing there.

overtime - blew up in their faces like a puff of smoke

due process - burned them, as if with a butane lighter

And the biggest line of all:
"Nobody cares about Vignali, it's old news." Ha Ha HA, you know what else is old news, Tony's candidacy. That's why Tony's commercails starting hitting already - the one highlighting his wife as a teacher. Why doesn't she have a speaking role Parke. This commercial will backfire too, as soon as the press gets wind of the fact that Tony and Corina don't even live together. I wonder if cocaine also contributes to illusions of marriage.

New York Times....April 26, 2005 -- "BRINGING in William Bratton to shape up the police department was the best move of [Mayor James Hahn's] political life . . . The mayor doesn't care that Bratton schmoozes at Elaine's and gets more attention in the New York gossip columns than he ever will. The chief is popular with the force and the voters . .

Why is the NY Times all of a sudden so interested in the L.A. Mayors race? Could it be because the L.A. Times has been so biased for Tony? -although they haven't been as subjective of late, even star struck journalist know the truth when they see it. Or could it be that the Vignali story will go over bigger in New York? Hillary is a Senator from there and Bill's office is right up the street from the NY Times. I wonder if they are going to scoop the L.A. Times with those FBI tapes? Won't that be a slap in the face to Tribune?

EVERY L.A. Times story now contains the same line -- people are starting to get it.

"Villaraigosa's lackluster term on City Council. . ."

Isn't this supposed to be the messiah that ADDS "luster" to the Mayor's office?

How come is dat???

Show due respect. I may be as dead as you are, but this election has brought me back to life as well.

What a mess this place is now.
