LA Mayor Trashes our National Leaders

Earlier today Tony Villar was endorsed by United States Senator John Kerry. And when the Senator spoke, Natalie Reyes (Deputy Mayor) from Jim Hahn's office was there to lead folks like the Big "Zero", and Art "I wish I didn't have a criminal record" Pulido into a chant of "Kerry go home!"

Hal Netkin was there too, chatting it up with Natalie Reyes.

Now that's a little odd...

In today's LA Times Hahn strategist Bill Carrick was quoted as saying"More than 30 years have passed since the acrimonious Bradley-Yorty campaigns. Hahn's media strategist, Bill Carrick, said the mayor would not seek to exploit racial fears — an accusation leveled by some critics against Hahn during the race four years ago."People should vote for who they think is the best candidate, and they shouldn't be considering what somebody's ethnicity is," Carrick said.

Yet there was Natalie Reyes and Hal Netkin chatting it up (photo's were e-mailed), Hal Netkin a known member of American Patrol, a group listed by the Southern Poverty Law Center as an extreme racist organization whose membership collaborates with Neo-Nazis and KKK members. Natalie who are you coordinating the Mayor's campaign with (besides Cedillo)?

However, the most interesting note regarding today's events is the fact that Hahn's paid staffers were called back because their 2 hour's worth of pay was up -- Hahn only paid them for two hours of protest, so when 2pm came rolling around they hightailed it out of there. Or someone higher than Natalie called her back home. Either way the man they were there to protest Tony Villar gave an uninterrupted speech which was received by approximately 1,000 people (according to the Sheriff on duty).

While this occurred Hahn proceeded to open yet another coincidentally by the way, new police/civic/library/fire station. Cut and paste the opening "here."The Mayor was received by this good news with only 2 (NBC and KCAL) whole TV cameras to present his message to the City, 13 cameras attended the Villar festivities.Interesting day indeed.

The above post was written after reading 13 e-mails and receiving 15 pictures of today's events.

Good going Jimmy – way to roll out the red carpet to visiting dignitaries. Another sterling performance from the Poopy and his troops.

You call THAT an endorsement... from Kerry... ??

"I'm not telling you what to do..."

(...just telling you what a great guy I've found ADV to be... as he was helping me lose against a sub-50 percent approval rated president).

Weakest payback "endorsement" I've ever heard. Might as well have said, "I'm not taking sides."

I think Tony's supporters were just the victim of a MAJOR fake-out!

TV news interviewed a typical, starry eyed, air-headed ADV supporter on ABC. "The (dirty) contributions don't bother me, because ADV has SO many accomplishments." (But they can NEVER name any...)

EVEN with Kerry in town to distract, what do the TV reporters ask about...

CAMPAIGN LAUNDERING!

Waste of airfare John K.

And now, as a private citizen, on no one's city or campaign payroll, I say this with all due respect.

GO HOME!

Best chance to win the White House --SLAM DUNK -- since Johnson/Goldwater and you muffed it.

Do we REALLY need this loser's advise - on politics?

America LOVES a winner.

Too bad with Kerry/ADV, neither one qualifies for that "love!"

What's Hahn supposed to say to Kerry, 5:47 Anon. "Gee, thanks for sticking you east coast blue-blood nose into our business."

I don't think Kerry's people exactly asked the Mayor's people to meet him at the airport...

Hey, Kerry-loser. Hahn supported you, too. Hahn's a democrat, too.

He just didn't leave his paid position for close to a year to carry your water, like ADV did.

Got any campaign money left, John. Maybe you could reimburse CD14 for the salary ADV stole for months on end to help you lose!

How about a little love in return?

Oh, bringing up criminal records there, Parker? Be VERRRRY careful what kind of can of worms you open up there. Do you have ANY idea how many of Tony's CURRENT toadies have pictures in the mug shot books downtown?

(Also, Pulido's jacket is more out-of-date than Tony V.'s in case you're interested in "old news.")

Do you REALLY want an accounting here of how long Tony's ex-con consort list is now?

ADV's buddies could have had their own wing at the Club Fed of your choosing. One or two of the people who worked for contractors who worked for the city, while Hahn was mayor MAY be on their way to prison, someday, MAYBE. But Tony's current entourage already warmed the sheets on more prison cots than any Hahn-era city contractors will EVER need.

I'm sure they'll repeat it several times. You have to catch Tony Rapp's taped interview for the City Channel.

"When I'm mayor, I'm going to surround myself with the BREAST and brightest!"

Freudian slip?

Naaaaah. . .

(If you'e still checking in, Halo Girl, might be time for that boob job you been considering... if you want to keep your job, that is.)

Natilie Reyes: better update your resume because you'll be on the streets soon. Gil, the racoon, please keep your ugly mug in CD 9 (where you live) and don't carpet bag into CD 14. We don't need you to bring your lack of accomplishments in Sacto to the eastside.

It amazes me Chief Parker how you just don't let up. There were more ADV field staffers working a campaign event on our tax dollars. Second, there weren't 1,000 people. In fact ADV staffers were running around franctially on their cell phones 10 minutes before rally wondering if more people were coming. There seemed to be more Hahn supporters then ADV supporters. Third, what a stupid way to endorse ADV by Kerry, "I'm not against anyone, just support ADV. Great endorsement. Hahn got endorsed today by Southern Chirstian Leadership Conf. (a black org). Word ADV's public safety meeting was a big sham. He bused in supporters from Eagle Rock. Constituents were pissed that their questions were't answered and they were being played by ADV staffers. ADV left in a hurry. Good going knowing that there are more then 15 homicides. Can hardly wait to read tomorrow's papers. Word is all major reporters flew to Miami to follow up and chase money donations

Hahn's wonderful strategy about sweeping the Valley could take a huge hit tomorrow (or it could get a huge boost) as the Daily News endorses...

Well, you'll just have to wait and see...will it be Tony Villar, who is "getting crushed" in the Valley, or will it be Mayor Poopie, who will poop his brains out if he loses?

I am predicting Mayor Poopie, after all, how can the media keep it close without the Daily News coming in for Poopie?

YOu go Poopie.

laobserved.com....What is it about Antonio Villaraigosa that leaves him stumbling just as he nears the finish line?

Isnt' it sad that Hahn people can't even just talk to someone without this bog spinning. Unlike ADV supporters and staffers who harrass, threaten and intimindate anyone who isn't supporting ADV. ADV people take photos, video tape and get in the face of anyone not holding a ADV sign. What immaturity, no class, uneducated morons!! Just look at the crap this blog posts as the dirty work for ADV. ITs called DESPERATION. nO DOUBT THOSE POLL NUMBERS ARE FALLING. People aren't entitled to their own opinions but then again this is Antonio's thug mentality and his people follow. Kerry endorsement backfired. Major unhappy e-mails were sent to Kerry campaign. Kerry had no business coming to LA. Valley people saw it as a slap in the face in their own backyards. That's why not than many people attended.

Hey Halogirlfromcity:

"Kerry could have been our president.." Yeah and Tony could have been our mayor. What another bonehead mistake. And right before the absentee voter deadline. Guess who utvotes liberal democrats three to one in vote by mail = conservative republicans. Great strategy, think Kerry actually motivated anyone besides these angry Republicans. he doesn't have that much appeal.

Cedillo lives in CD9? I thought that he lived in South Pasadena. I think that house isn't even in his old Assembly District that he represented (yeah, he lived there while serving the 46th AD), let alone in the current senate seat that he represents.

But that doesn't really matter. What does matter is that Hahn can't get as much media coverage as Villaraigosa can, so the only way that his campaign goons can attempt to get attention is by trying to crash other people's party. I guess they took that play straight out of the La Colectiva/Xavier Becerra 2001 playbook. We all know how that backfired on thim. I'm sure that it will happen like that here too.

CHIEF PARKER, YOU HAVE YOUR NUMBERS WRONG. You must evaluate the information of emails and calls again, and find out if your sources are correct. THERE WAS NOT (I REPEAT NOT)1,000 PEOPLE ATTENDING ADV FOR HIS SUPPORT. You just spinned another story at your convenience. Here is a bit of the story that Rick Orlov of the L.A. Daily News wrote:
***********************
"...At a mid-day rally more reminiscent of presidential politics than a mayoral contest, Kerry offered praise for Villaraigosa - who served as one of his national co-chairs last year - and urged a crowd of nearly 300 at Los Angeles Valley College to vote for his longtime friend..."

CHIEF PARKER, THE NUMBER 300 VS 1,000 IS A BIG DIFFERENCE. TYPICAL OF ADV STAFF TO EXAGGERATE THE NUMBERS TO THEIR CONVENIENCE, IS THIS HOW THE TIME POLL WAS DONE?

Actually, the LA Times said 450 people, but these are all estimates, and maybe they were counting us paid workers for Hahn that showed up.

I didn't get to see Eliseo there, although I was looking for him so I could get some more folks to sign the recall petition.

How's it going Eliseo? Do we have enough signatures yet?

Hahn is counting on us to come through, but it looks bad because no one has called me to do it lately. Have Hahn's checks stopped coming?

Hey, we finally have an issue and that slime Antonio crosses us by just giving the money back. How come our guy didn't do that? He could have at least used it to pay us what he owes us for all those signatures, right?

C'mon Eliseo, let's get back in the game. We are not going to quit now, just because we are 20 measily points behind, are we?

As for Netkin and the rest, the fact that they showed up at a Hahn press conference means less than the fact that Richard Alatorre has become Antonio's political mentor and guru in the last four years (continuing his feud with Henry Lozano who was friends with Nick Pacheco), both of these people have enough of a record of their own to be judged fairly, not attacked on who might be supporting them.

To criticize Jim Hahn's record of community service is unbelievable, especially since shortly after 9/11 economic experts predicted Los Angeles would not have room for any capitol improvements because everything would have to go to security.

Add to that LAX has been the main target for a terrorist attack and that is yet to happen thanks to Hahn bringing in Bratton. Parks wouldn't have a clue how to handle. He destroyed LAPD and now everyone is asking what is Parks role if Antonio wins. Antonio doesn't have a clue about community policing. Better yet he just doesn't have a clue about anything otherwise he would have done at least one positive thing in his district with regard to public safety
