Is Walter Moore Racist?

Earlier in the week, we here at Sister City reported on Moore's endorsement of Jim Hahn for Mayor.

Walter Moore outpolled Sen Richard Alarcon in 6 council districts.

Good day for Hahn, right?

Wrong.

After further review, this Chief wants to know why Hahn is proud to have his endorsement.

Did the Mayor's staff even look at the stuff on Walter Moore's site? And if they did, do they support Walter's positions?

Go here on Walter Moore's website, you be the judge -- racism or stupidity? Look at commercials 1 and 10.

In a Washington Times article, Moore was quoted as saying, "As mayor, I don't have any direct control over the border," Mr. Moore said. "But I can stop Los Angeles from being a sanctuary city. I can turn the police loose on this problem..."Washington Times march 7th 2005.

Perhaps these candidates are two peas in a pod.

Here is Jim Hahn's position.

"illegal aliens...depress our wages, and ruin our economy." (KCBS Feb 28th 2005) (Go to the 1 hour 3 minute and 6 second mark)

Sounds like a Walter Moore position to me, how about you?

I just want to be clear -- I may look like Walter Moore (we are both Republicans). We may even talk the same, but this Chief is not racist. Walter Moore was never a good Republican to begin with, just as Jim Hahn was never a good mayor.

Next thing you know MEAT will be calling CNN racist.

Here is "Antonio Villaraigosa's ten-point plan to reduce violence" in CD 14 from 2003 and now CNN is doing a Special on Violence in CD 14. What's wrong with this picture?

Antonio Villaraigosa's ten-point plan to reduce violence

1. Interagency cooperation.

2. Expand police presence in parks.

3. Work with schools.

4. Early intervention.

5. Target graffiti.

6. Hire more police officers.

7. Expand real community-based policing.

8. Protect witnesses.

9. Train officers to prevent conflict.

10. Tougher gun laws.

These two promises were included in the mailer.

Villaraigosa will work on creating an after school program for every middle school in the 14th Council District.

Villaraigosa will work to coordinate with our schools and libraries to provide alternatives to our children.

Has anyone seen any of this in the last two years?? Any motions in council to advance this plan? Any after school programs created by Villaraigosa in the middle schools?

Talk about "missing in action". He should be ashamed of how CNN is coming into the 14th Council District to expose his failure on crime.

OOPS, more bad "code" words ADV should never use, from his broken "law & order" pledge:

cooperation

work

train

tougher

Hasn't exhibited a working knowledge of ANY of these words in two years on council. (Times said: has on introduced one piece of legislation in two years and that's been stuck in committee for 10 months).

So someone asked "one-bill wonder" ADV in one of the smaller debates about his stand on "law & order" and he said --

"I think they're started one too many spinoffs. OH, and I miss Jerry Ohrbach."

Anonymous Anonymous said:

Wait, one of those promises from ADV's 10-point plan 2003 mailer DID get done -- the one about working with schools and libraries to provide alternatives.

Problem is, JIM HAHN did it!

"(Hahn) sxpanded the city’s nationally-recognized LA’s BEST after school program to serve over 5,500 additional students at over 45 additional schools. The program now provides free of charge a safe, educational, and fun place for more than 3,900 students at 29 Eastside elementary schools. Citywide, it serves over 20,000 students at over 125 schools."

SO, 1 out of every 5 students helped by that live on the EASTSIDE?? Presumably MOST of those are Latino children... many are probably ILLEGAL. (Sounds pretty RACIST to me!)

Never fear, Antonio... Jim has your back, even when you can't figure out how to keep ONE STINKIN' PROMISE IN 24 MONTHS!

(Now, you just have to figure out a way to take CREDIT for it... I KNOW, tell your lovesick groupies the 'LA' stands for LOSER ANTONIO!

(Okay, now one of the groupies is assigned to pop up here and ask "did HAHN actually 'start' that -- cuz if not, he can't take credit for expanding it by nearly 30 percent, right?) HA!

The ONLY other things that have expanded by 30 percent in CD14 since 2003 are homicides and ADV's EGO! (And they're both MURDER to put up with).

Note how even Villaraigosa's campaign pledges are are hedge words... after that nasty promise to NOT run for mayor in his first term, he really didn't want to be tied down, so the mailer says he'll "work" on this, he'll "work" on that. Why not just form a committee and "study" it. That's what REAL proactive leaders do right?

"I will do this..." is just too damn "confining" when he can't focus all that well and has SO many pressing out-of-town engagements.

Villaraigosa is afraid to appear on ANY major drive-time radio show in L.A. in a one-on-one since the primary. His handlers pretend he doesn't "need" to, since he's "ahead" in polling, but that's not even a clever dodge.

Why is he afraid to answer questions if he has valid reasons for his beliefs and postions. If he's "right" and they're just "racist," explain why, present the case, make your supporters proud.

How can you runa city where your afraid to deal with a large minority of the population that disagrees?

LOS ANGELES ELECTIONS
Parks Backs Villaraigosa, Attacks Hahn
Former police chief cites his fellow councilman's integrity, says city can't prosper with a cloud over City Hall. Hahn says he's not surprised.
By Jeffrey L. Rabin and Richard Fausset
Times Staff Writers

April 6, 2005

Sharply criticizing Mayor James K. Hahn, Councilman Bernard C. Parks endorsed mayoral challenger Antonio Villaraigosa on Tuesday, saying his colleague on the City Council has "the integrity to move this city forward."

Citing the local and federal investigations into city contracting, Parks said, "I don't believe this city can prosper under those circumstances, and I don't believe we deserve … four more years of those types of investigations."

Later Tuesday, Hahn, surrounded by seven current and three former council members who support his reelection, responded that Parks' decision to back his opponent was no surprise. "It was clear that Councilman Parks and I disagreed on some things when he was the police chief and we still do," said the mayor, who pushed Parks out of his job as police chief in 2002.

Hahn appeared outside City Hall on the day The Times reported that investigators recently asked for information about the mayor's trip to Asia in November 2002 in an apparent effort to examine a deal that involved space at the port.

The mayor bristled at questions about the investigations.

"So far what we have are investigations. So far what we have are allegations," he said. "We don't have facts yet."

However, the mayor did say he was concerned to learn that the city Ethics Commission and the district attorney are looking into the connection between former Airport Commissioner Leland Wong and Evergreen Marine Corp., which hired Wong as a consultant.

In 2002, the mayor's office was negotiating to lease more space at the Port of Los Angeles to Evergreen and also pushing an affiliate, EVA Airways, to move its cargo operation from Los Angeles International Airport.

Wong accompanied Hahn on a trip to Asia at which the deal to move EVA to Ontario International Airport was announced.

"If there is an appearance problem, if there is an actual conflict problem, that needs to be investigated," Hahn said.

But Hahn said he was not aware of Wong's ties to Evergreen Marine at the time. "I can't be held responsible for something I don't know about," he said.

The incumbent, who is fighting for a second term, also said he wants the city's African American voters to judge him on his record in office and not on the basis of his decision to replace Parks.

"The voters are going to see me talk about that record of making the city safer, building more housing, bringing in more jobs, getting more kids in after-school programs," Hahn said.

In a taste of the campaign to come in the six weeks leading up to the May 17 runoff, Hahn described Villaraigosa as "an empty suit."

"You can't get by on the good looks and your charming smile in this job," he said. "You've got to be able to roll up your sleeves and work with people and get things done."

Parks became the third major African American leader since the March 8 election to endorse Villaraigosa. The councilman joins U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Los Angeles) and Los Angeles County Supervisor Yvonne Brathwaite Burke.

The endorsements underscore the substantial erosion of Hahn's longtime political base among the city's black voters. Many were loyal to him out of respect for his father, former county Supervisor Kenneth Hahn, who represented South Los Angeles.

During his appearance with Villaraigosa at a school near Exposition Park, Parks was harshly critical of Hahn and lavished praise on Villaraigosa.

Parks spoke modestly about his ability to deliver the black vote, tilting the spotlight toward Villaraigosa and his message.

"Antonio Villaraigosa will deliver the African American vote," Parks said. "He's the candidate … [who] touched the hearts and minds of people all over the city."

Villaraigosa used the event to attack Hahn, citing the city Airport Commission's decision Monday to extend lucrative contracts for seven concessionaires at LAX without a word of debate. Some of the concession operators have contributed to Hahn and his political causes.

"Jim Hahn can't accuse people of misrepresenting the record when he's being investigated by the U.S. attorney, the FBI and the district attorney," Villaraigosa said, citing "another allegation of pushing through contracts without discussion, another allegation of moving ahead to approve a contract before its time without any debate."

Villaraigosa, along with Parks and Councilmen Jack Weiss and Martin Ludlow, introduced a motion Tuesday to have the City Council review the Airport Commission's action in extending the concessionaires' contracts.

"Antonio thinks like I think -- if you can't PROVE they did the crime, pronounce them guilty anyway -- like he's done with Hahn using leaks and bogus calls for investigation. Proof, schmoof"

"Also, why sweat the murders in Hollenbeck, they're mostly just gangbangers killing each other, right Antonio?

"Not only does Antonio keep his job while doing nothing, he asks for a PROMOTION. Even I didn't have that kind of bravado, in my heyday -- and I was actually putting in a few hours each day"

Parker, check into Tony V's non-existent relationship with his increasing dysfunctional neighborhood councils, as well. These groups are supposed to be the city council and mayor's first line of advisory contact with the communities they serve.

CD14 NCs have seen more of HAHN in the last two years than ADV.

How can ADV be using their council to decide what happens in their communities when he doesn't know one from the other? How can the great "consensus builder" have two of the first NCs facing de-certification in the city, for inability to work with each other and get along? How could "Mr. Eastside" not be supported by ANY of the presidents of NCs primarily in his district (and be endorsed by only ONE, partially in his district -- the only non-Latino NC prez.) Why do the board members of NCs split between his and Reyes or Garcetti's districts ONLY know the Reyes and Garcetti's field deputies, wouldn't even recognize the name of field deputies from ADV's office in most cases.

If elected mayor, would ADV turn as blind an eye to the city's 85 NCs as he has to the 7-8 all or partially in his district?

You HAD your chance to really replace him, by bypassing loser Tony and picking someone else who COULD win in May -- but you went "sentimental" on the mental midget that is ADV. Sleep in that lumpy bed Hahn-haters.

"But I can stop Los Angeles from being a sanctuary city. I can turn the police loose on this problem"

Moore was referring to L.A.'s "sanctuary law", aka "Special Order 40." That says that police can't stop someone simply for immigration violations when they know that a) that person has been convicted for a felony and b) that person was ordered deported and is still here or came back.

In other words, under Special Order 40 cops need to wait for illegal alien felons to commit another felony before they can be deported.

Liberalism at its finest.

As for the titular question, "racist" is a catch-all word that liberals use to mean "I disagree with you."

What group was Villaraigosa a member of in college again?

Its actually VILLAR WHO IS RACIST,
indeed this clown promotes the illegal invasion therefore the cheap second class of workers, if he was not racist he would '(like Walter Moore) build a fence and stop the sanctuary city so illegals no longer come and jobs go to Americans and legals. Also Villar promotes Mexican supremacism, for example he will go to latino causes events not Asian events, so this is racism too
Villar is anti-Gringo and anti non-latino racist.
