Gray and Grayer
Jimmy Hahn got spanked one last time on his ridiculous and wasteful proposal to raise the regressive sales tax to fund more police officers. Unless we hear otherwise from the Fly, we don't know if he threw yet another hissyfit but his sister Janice couldn't take it anymore and told Tony Villar to take his "crappy" speeches to the campaign trail.
However when a preliminary vote turned down the measure on Wednesday, Mayor Poopy* was all beside himself. He made quite the scene when he didn't get his way and even went as far to suggest that the voters recall those brave Councilmembers who saw through this scheme and voted against it.
*The term Mayor Poopy refers to an alleged event back in the 50s where Sam Yorty witnessed a then toddler Jimmy Hahn have an "accident" all over his father's pants. The Sister City makes no claim as to the truth or veracity of the story, but the name seems to have stuck.

"(Hahn) suggested that voters in Councilmen Antonio Villaraigosa's and Jack Weiss' districts should consider recalling them."Well Jimmy, I don't think that is going to happen. I doubt the voters think they are not taxed enough. I think that we are going to find out on March 8th the voters will recall you for your failed leadership, lack of vision and ethically corrupt administration. Maybe you'll get to do some commercials or sitcom cameos with Gray Davis.

It is interesting how the Mayor is looking more and more like Ex Governor Davis.

I just read on some northeast los angeles listserve that parks introduced the idea of a citywide sales tax back in november 2004 and was supported by villraigosa. hahn may be a dum dum but it seems parks and villaraigosa are dishonest dum dums.

Parks and ADV made complete asses of themselves during this whole process. Finally ADV speaks after seniors went to Council and pleaded. AFter all CD 24 oted 70% to pass Measure A. I hear that is going to hurt him big time. The word is spreading fast. Who the hell advised ADV to meet Steve Lopez in Beverly Hills. Another stupid mistake. Waiting for Hertzberg and Alarcon to go after him with guns blazing

Mayor Sam should at least be honest and identify the motion as the Parks/Miscikowski motion to increase a local tax for public safety.
Here is a City link showing the moving portion of the motion and how each councilmember voted in Nov. 2004.
Notice how ADV and Parks voted for it in 2004 and flip/flopped in 2005.

FROM MEAT:
How is this a flip-flop? It was asking the CLA to give their opinion. If you are opposed to it, perhaps you were hoping for an opinion that complimented your argument, which suggests all councilmembers would be ok with this vote.
but loonies of course will try their darndest to make this vote into something its not. If it was a flip-flop where's the ever watchful eye of the media? Oh yeah, they understand council process we opposed to you dum-dums.
blog away.

MEAT I know your spelling is really bad but at least I thought you could read. The motion was about finding ways to place a measure on the ballot "to increase the local sales tax for public safety purposes." You're an amateur MEAT. Can never get it right, can you?

All the losers who voted NO last week are the same losers that voted YES to place on ballot back in November. To think these are our so called council members. They were an embarrassement with that video tape and now an embarrassement with losing $4 million for a park, ADV lost $20 million on fines, and now flip flopping on such an important issue
