The End of Profile Week at the Times - Alarcon
The Times fifth and final candidate profile in there paper is all about Alarcon. Here is his day to shine. Here's some key excerpts -
- In Sacramento, where he has represented the 20th Senate District since 1998, Alarcon has been a leading force for reform of the state's education and workers' compensation systems.
- But along the way he has been accused of ruthlessly pursuing his political career at the cost of political and personal relationships. The ensuing divisions could come back to haunt him in his current quest.
- Over coffee at a diner near City Hall, Alarcon said sheepishly that his accomplishments in Sacramento include having won the annual legislative bowling tournament five years in a row, rolling a high score of 235.

While this may show (at least on the blog), that not that many people are interested in Alarcon --it's refreshing to see a politician who doesn't have enemies up the ying-yang, like Hahn and Villaraigosa. Maybe one of these "trailing" candidates could get more done in office than the better-known names (not that they'll get the chance).

I'm sorry but I tuned out. The subject was Alarcon. Did someone mention anything? Guess not.

It's amazing that the one person that has consistently done well during the debates is the one person people are writing off?
So I guess we, as an electorate, don't really have the core base to support a "tenacious" candidate.

Posting this so that Alarcon has a couple more posts than he will have votes.
