Tony Villar's Hot Dog Photo Op

Late Saturday night Mayor Villaraigosa trotted out aides Mike Trujillo and Ace Smith for a photo op at the legendary Pink's Hot Dog Stand in Los Angeles.  Trujillo said this was an example of how the Mayor "Gets out there with the people" yet it appeared no one was particularly interested one way or another that the Mayor was there.

This could be a good career for the Mayor once his days in politics are over.

He or his media person even "twittered" about the Mayor's dog. For what it's worth, it consists of the following:

Mayor's Dog at Pinks which is a Jalapeno Dog, with chopped tomatoes, lettuce, chili, grilled onions, and topped with fresh guacamole

The Mayor's Dog at Pinks is the most expensive, and comes with only 11% of the meat.

What is so bad about TONY?

Try checking his record and the way he gets things done. Somehow he's the primary beneficiary for money deals.

And you might give a look to the statement he gave that said that because of the 2010 Governor's race, he could not promise he would serve the full term as Mayor.

THIS IS A STEPPING STONE, nothing more. Any REAL benefit that happens to befall Los Angeles is not a requirement of TONY'a choices.

CD-14 and not a fatalist.

Not to steal Antonio's media thunder, but here's Zuma on KNBC 4 News about the mayoral campaign. It was about a 17 minute segment. I think this is the whole thing. Check it out:

4:35pm, "I just moved here and I think it's cool..."

YEAH, RIGHT. Give it up Falsjillo. Your boys headed for a run-off.

Hey Higby, it's the same old, "I'm not a parent from Van Nuys, but I think parents from Van Nuys are wrong...(insert spin here).

Or, "I'm no fan of Antonio, but I decided I am going to vote for him cause I saw him eating a hot dog."

Just a bit stunned by the other-than-astute observations of 4:35pm.

I think its awesome that the Mayor is campaigning hard even though hes running against a bunch of crazies

One response: "Do you see the pictures here?" THAT's his "campaigning" a real insult to voters. He is OUR public servant- until he gets into office, I guess, and then it reverses.

At least, that's the message I get from his conduct. Behind the counter serving hot dogs? Tough campaign it's not.

The mayor takes every voter for a fool- except those who will show up to rubber-stamp his agenda as part of the group benefitting from what can best be described as profiteering. "His" voters, the staffers, special interests, favored unions and more attached to Tony, will ALL show up to vote for him to keep that money spigot turned on and flowing their way.

New to L.A.? Well, I'm not, and I have seen it as it continues to move like that.

OTHERS don't have to take it and NNED to do just one thing- SPEND 5 MINUTES AND VOTE the machine of VILLARAIGOSA- TONY, WENDY GRUEL, JACK WEISS- all OUT.

City Attorney NOEL- THE "GOOD" WEISS, and others all better than JACK.

City Controller Nick Patsarous, even "accused" by Wendy (and we just have Wendy's side) He's still better than getting a TONY-RUBBER-STAMP grandstander in to neutralize the function of the office.

I'm staying with Zuma Dogg and his knowledge of city affairs from his continuous contact with issues in City Hall, and a better Council Meeting attendance record in some stretches than some council members.

Michael Trujillio is an idiot...a job at Pink's is better suited to him than running a campaign for a sure winner like solar energy....although if any one could screw it up, Michael could.

You just wish you could run a campaign as well as Trujillo. Don't be jealous of his successes. Ha Ha

Whether Measure B wins or not is irrelevant considering all the wins he's had.

Trujillo gay? I think anyone who eats a hot dog is gay. Period. Sorry Trujillo... nothing against you but what part of the animal is a hot dog? Just curious.

Phil, you have enough reasons to be embarrassed. If the owners of the hot dog shop requested your presence - you'd be there. Don't deny it.

How much is the big party at the Bonaventure going to cost Tuesday night? What an idiot, the Mayor is celebrating in these horrible economic times spending thousands of dollars. If he had a brain he would make a statement and instead of a nice quite dinner with friends. But then again this is the idiot gang banger Mayor who is being slammed all over the national media. Where are you JErry Brown and Gavin Newsom because there are thousands of us in LA who want to campaign for one of you.
