Mid-day Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Thursday

From the Exclusive Encino Headquarters of tax-levied John Shallman Communications/ West Coast Public Affairs (separate, for tax reason), we cut away from our brief, fiscally-inspired TV Ad Test Card and return you to our limited-buy factually-challenge, negative TV Campaign.
From the former ................
Jeff Millman, Garcetti's spokesman, called the ad "further evidence that she will say or do anything to get elected."
"This is breathtaking hypocrisy from Wendy Greuel," Millman said, "because she voted for this project twice and took money from a convicted felon herself in several campaigns, including her mayoral campaign."
Greuel first attacked Garcetti over the Ripinsky connection last month. Ripinsky has not returned calls from the Weekly seeking comment.
[Update,Tuesday 6:24 p.m.: Paul Sorrell, Ripinsky's attorney, said Greuel is making "false charges" in the press.
"We intend to look at what she's saying and evaluate our client's legal rights and remedies against her and anyone else involved in disseminating these false and defamatory statements," Sorrell said.]

** Lets pause for a campaign teachable moment via the dues money of LAPD Rank and File's Police Protective League, how not to let a "Huggy Bob, along with his legal friends T. MsOsker and Gatto Frommer", gain access to the dues bank for $850,000 in Villar Greuel Payoff Money. From the LA Times.

Greuel's campaign has ties to the police union that go beyond its endorsement and fundraising. Two months ago, a spokesman for the league confirmed that Greuel campaign co-chairman Bob Hertzberg, a former Assembly speaker, had been retained by the union as one of its lawyers.League spokesman Eric Rose said in March that a team of attorneys at Mayer Brown – including Hertzberg, former Assemblyman Dario Frommer and Tim McOsker, chief of staff to former Mayor James Hahn – were hired by the league to handle “airport security issues.”

Obviously, PPL did not learn from its 2009 CD 2 Special Election mistakes when they blew six-figures in the  pursuit of sloppy second pay raises, by supporting IBEW's Boss D'Arcy's "Empty Vessel named Chris Essel".

** Attention City Controller Wendy "The Villar and Boss D'Arcy's Greuel"!! Apparently in the course of using your office for campaign duties, you forgot this actual function of your office.

Los Angeles' transportation department has identified a $42.6-million accumulation of cash that should have been paid to the city's general fund over a 17-year period, officials said Wednesday.

...... and where was the "Queen of Audits"?

City Controller Wendy Greuel, who is running for mayor, said her office is in the process of auditing about 600 special funds and grant funds in the city but had not looked at the transportation grant fund.

The process will continue after I brief Shallman and Boss D'Arcy.

Your thoughts ..............
Scott Johnson in CD 14.
