Wendy the Outsider?
I'm an outsider with a parking meter on my credenza! |
Excuse me while I choke.
Even the slow to get it Daily News caught wind of this joke and produced some fishwrap around it. By the way, City Attorney Carmen "the Clown" Trutanich, desperately trying to remain in office, claims to be an outsider too, but no one cares.
Los Angeles Times readers were perhaps puzzled to see a page 1 headline this month reading: "Greuel stresses status as outsider." Wendy Greuel, the city controller who's a contender for mayor, the former two-term city councilwoman? She has status as outsider? Really?

Dare I say it... I have my doubts about Wendy. They've recently developed. And, it had nothing to do with MS.
Just seeing her out and about, and the way she is presenting herself now. This is NOT the Wendy I have seen and known in the Valley.
Would never support Garcetti. He had his shot as Council President and did more harm than good. And he too is a big phony.
But something is going on in the Wendy Camp. Something has been going in the Wendy Camp for at least a month or two. She has changed.
Maybe her new campaign director has something to do with it.
I am not sure if Wendy has what it takes to get to win a run off.
And if I have my reservations on Wendy, then it really is not looking good for her out there.

Wendy is smart enough to see that the "Insiders" have "experience" that usually gets voters to choose them. But in L.A., "Insiders" is a toxic label, being in cahoots with each other and Villaraigosa, so Perry, Garcetti and Greuel, peas in a pod, try to break away from that characterization.
Too late, maybe one or two terms too late for them. Insiders all.
So how is Wendy an "Outsider"? She's on the attack now, but there's not any getting away from her history, letting or causing the city to slide to the edge of bankruptcy.
