Noontime Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Thursday
Former CD 14 Chief of Staff and current CD 9 City Council Candidate Ana Cubas.
A $100 dollar contribution makes you a friend of Ana Cubas.
We recommend that Cubas sign DVD copies of her Youtube Classsic Video where she explains (or attempts to) the various discretionary funds in CD 14, and give them away for a higher contribution.
Great noon hour to all on this day before another TGIF, especially after a horrid election week for some of our local politicos. While some with the names of Nuch, Zorro Marxist, Brian of the $6th AD, Little Mikey and Tom of Montebello shudder at the thought of dark political days ahead. Others are planning their initial foray into the political world such as former CD 14 Chief of Staff Ana Cubas who aspires to become the only Female Princeton Graduate on the City Council. One would think that her former boss City Councilman Jose Huizar would be opening doors for his fellow Princeton Grad, but Cubas candidacy has cause some consternation between supposed allies Councilman Huizar and City Council Presdent Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson who is backing Assemblyman Mike Davis for the seat being vacated by 2013 Mayoral Candidate Jan Perry. Thus, after the collusion of Council President "Mini Amin" Wesson and Councilman Huizar on "City Redistricting 2012", the CD 10 City Council Strongman may wonder if the Princeton Grad is trying a backdoor attempt to weaken his control on the horseshoe.
** Battered former District Attorney Candidate and still City Attorney Carmen Trutanich has made it clear that he will run for re-election to his current position. But with his past DA Campaign Consultant John Shallman already spending challenger Assemblyman Mike Feuer's campaign resources, there maybe hope for Nuch in maintaining his City Hall East office space in 2013.
** Memo to MEAT, Brian and other assorted "campaign consultants" for CD 2/7 City Councilman turned 39th Assembly Candidate Richard AlarCON. Your battering at the polls by Raul Bocanegra may of been predicated by loss of focus on the "Comadre Network" by the Northeast San Fernando Valley Zorro Marxist. "MEAT", remember these ladies blog via word of mouth, not keyboard.
** 51st Assembly District Race third place finisher Arturo Chavez tells the Echo Park Patck that he'll most likely back Luis Lopez in the General Election. One person had this to say about the Chavez Campaign via the LA Weekly while lauding City of Bell BASTA's Christina Garcia defeat of Montebello's Tom Calderon in the 58th AD.
This is such a refreshing story - and a Latina math professor to boot, what are the odds of that? It is ironic that she comes from the same hometown as political hack and felon Mario Beltran. Mario just got his ass handed to him running Cedillo's chief of staff's campaign to replace him, Arturo Chavez. Too bad, because Arturo was a good guy that got caught up in the back rooms of political "kingmakers." Beltran also was an ardent Calderon supporter too although it seems that Tom could have benefitted more from a jock strap than from Beltran. All these political staffers thinking they can run campaigns and carrying themselves as the gurus of Latino politics should cringe in shame.
.......... but the irony here is that in defeat, Arturo Chavez is standing up against the machine/kingmaker's quest to impose Jimmy "PACman" Gomez upon our community, by supporting Luis Lopez. For that, he is to be commended..
Your thoughts ..............

About a month or two ago I read on Mario Beltran's facebook page "I am a consultant" - LOL, want to rephrase that Mario? How can the Chief of Staff of the sitting Assembly member not even make it to the runoff? Either you didn't do your jobs as staff personnel or you screwed up on the campaign strategy, btw - lawn signs don't vote, they just give you a false sense of success.
