Los Angeles City Council Redistricting Hearing Set

The first of seven public hearings to gauge community input on the recently-released Draft City Council District boundary map takes place tonight, Wednesday, February 1 , 6:30 p.m. at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Hancock Park.

Residents and concerned stakeholders of current council districts 10, 4, 13 and 1 are encouraged to speak up and address their thoughts on the draft council boundary map to the members of the Los Angeles City Council Redistricting Commission.

First-time participants to the process are also encouraged to attend a free pre-hearing training session at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre one hour before the hearing, at 5:30 p.m. The training will focus on the purpose of LACCRC public hearings, what subjects should public comment focus on and how to best prepare for public comment.

The Wilshire Ebell Theatre is located at 4401 W. 8th Street, near the corner of Wilshire and Lucerne boulevards. Free parking is available at the Wilshire Ebell lot across Lucerne. Transit users can take Metro Local Line 20 (Lucerne Bl stop) or Metro Rapid Line 720 (Crenshaw Bl stop), less than a mile west of the Metro Purple Line Wilshire/Western station.
