Northeast Trees Founder Scott Wilson dead at 89
Scott Wilson, Founder of Northeast Trees.
Educator, Conservationist and Founder of Northeast Trees Scott Wilson has passed away at 89 after a weekend fall at his Eagle Rock home, as the Eagle Rock Patch reports.
This blogger had last seen and talk to Wilson at the Ascot Hills Park dedication last June where he appeared in great health. Wilson, who with Wilson High School educators Stan Katasi and Bob Clarillos, were instrumental along with the Hillside Village Property Owners Association, in seeing the Ascot Hills Park become a reality. Further, Wilson and Northeast Trees were supportive in restoring the Hazard Park Wetlands which has been a decades-long goal of activist Alex Man.
NET Executive Director Mark Kenyon released the following statement.
Dear North East Trees Community, It is with very heavy hearts and deep regret that we must inform you of the death of Scott Wilson, Founder of North East Trees. Scott passed away in his sleep at Glendale Adventist Hospital earlier today. His wife, Clarli, and family were with him. He was 89 years old. Last Saturday, Scott was taking clippings from a tree in his garden, to be used at his church, when he lost consciousness and fell. He was taken to the hospital, by paramedics, and did not regain consciousness. I believe this was how Scott might have chosen his final act to be: in service to his community - and in a tree. A Memorial to celebrate Scott's life is being planned and an announcement of the date will be made. Mark B. Kenyon, Executive Director North East Trees
Our prayers go out to the Wilson Family.
