This is the city: Los Angeles, California. I work here. I'm an ex-mayor. Los Angeles is a magnet for people from all over the world. Some of them run for public office. Inevitably some of them stray from the golden rule and rule for those that have the gold. That's when I go to work. My name is Yorty. I'm a dead pol.

Okay is anti-gay marriage.
Finally, something BHO and I agree on!

The real victory will be when it passes in Utah. Of course we'd probably have to wait until Latinos become a majority in this state also.

Finally some good news from Dodgerland. Steve Soboroff quit his job with the team.
Steve's problem has always been his inability to control his mouth and temper. In his attempt to risk every bit of self-dignity he has left, he made more blunders in his first few weeks trying to defend Frank McCourt than most observers were able to count.
I think Lybia is looking for a spokesperson.

Typical politician, bailing out faster than a Koufax fastball. McCourt relied on Villar and Soboroff to bail him out, he was dead in the water from the start. Villar dumped McCourt as soon as he realized he wasn't dealing with Anschutz - right about the same time Villar realized he would have to pay for his Dodger tickets. I wonder which of these two fools thought up that Black Minister bit - strictly minor leagues.

Crunch time is near. Likely McCourt won't be able to make payroll next week. Soboroff's departure won't help because he may have been hired using McCourt's personal funds.
Look for the commissioner to offer financial help to the Dodgers, but only if McCourt agrees to sell the team.
McCourt should realize that nobody likes him and nothing he can do will change that. He should cut his losses, sell the team, and find a new occupation.

A gay man HAS equal rights in all 50 states. He can marry a woman just like everyone else.

But that would make the woman unequal, wouldn't it? Equal but miserable, the American way.

What a SHAME!

Is that why gay rights are being honored in states with significant Latino populations? Pls Mexico recognizes same sex marriage:

Just like outlawing slavery and enhancing race relations, our Latino brothers lead the way.

Find me a single Latino community leader who will admit that people die from AIDS in their community and that gays live there.

Art Torres, Antonio Villaraigosa, Xavier Becerra, Lucille Roybal, Gloria Molina, Linda Sanchez, John Perez, ... shall I go on?
It's a simple matter of inclusion and acceptance. I don't like the term tolerance because it insinuates that something must be "tolerated" insteaad of accepted. Although we must tolerate asenine thoughts like yours.
