10-0600-S30 COMMUNICATION FROM THE CITY ATTORNEY and ORDINANCE FIRST CONSIDERATION relative to amending the Los Angeles Administrative Code (LAAC) to modify the surplus funds transfer provisions of the Special Parking Revenue Fund. Recommendation for Council action, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE MAYOR: PRESENT and ADOPT the accompanying ORDINANCE relative to amending Section 5.117 of the LAAC to modify the surplus funds transfer provisions of the Special Parking Revenue Fund.
Fiscal Impact Statement: None submitted by the City Attorney. Neither the City Administrative Officer nor the Chief Legislative Analyst has completed a financial analysis of this report. Community Impact Statement: None submitted.
(Budget and Finance and Transportation Committees waived consideration of the above matter)

My "Speculative Guess of the Month": There will likely be a Full City Council meeting on Tuesday, but it does not look like there will be one on Wednesday.

This is stupid.
Moving on, an AZ judge has ruled that the Republican Green Party candidates that are following the Gatto/Chahe playbook can stay on the ballot. Hopefully the Democrats there won't assault any photographers.

It's not the "High Holidays," dum dum.
It's the "High Holy Days." That's assuming you want to be ACCURATE. By the way, I had a great laugh when Red Snot referred to himself as a "citizen journalist." I guess he doesn't care about the journalistic creed that requires thorough accuracy, not to mention the logic in running grammar & spellcheck.
So call it the "High Holidays" if you wish. It's like calling a donut a cookie. It's kinda of right, but it's still wrong.
Why is there no meeting agenda posted for the City Council meeting next Tuesday? Is that a holiday?
It probably will be posted later today.
Technically, for most Jews, Tuesday is not a holiday. But considering that it falls between the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashanah, which ends tonight) and Yom Kippur (which starts at sundown next Friday), the fact that most Jews in the US consider this whole period a holiday period, the traditional respect for this fact by the scheduling folks at City Hall (because a good number of Jewish people work at City Hall or attend Public Hearings there), the fact that in all likelihood US Orthodox Jews will be in shul (Temple) on Tuesday morning b/c of the High Holy Days period (and they have "extra" Holy Days, beyond what other Jews observe), the fact that certain Council Members will be absent for the above reasons (or it's a convenient excuse, even if they're not religious), a Tuesday AM meeting is unwise and a tad disrespectful, especially considering that a pattern of respect for this period of time has been created over the last few years.

This is what comes of having a local government that's "balanced" among left-wing radicals, left-wing not-so-radicals, and (far) left-leaning moderates.
(I've got more diverse thinking going on at my family dinner table than our "representative" government, the City Council, has shown in a decade). The only thing they ever seem to disagree on is just HOW far to bend over for unions, developers, and rich local fat cats.
"No, no, look at ME, I'M almost touching my toes with my nose, I'm REALLY bending over and showing you where to stick it!"
