Benito Speaks

"The Republicans are so funny, when the economy is good you say let’s all celebrate “Cinco de Mayo, my brothers” but when the economy is down “it’s all your fault, you damn immigrant”. When most Americans (with Latin America roots) go to the polls this November we will remember that the GOP has gone on a nationwide rant in proposing and passing several anti-immigration legislation (that our US Courts continue to strike down) and have continue to blame the immigrant for the flat economy or worse. We will remember who stands with us and who stands against us, so trying to stop it now is somewhat funny, but go ahead, you will not change our minds. Plus the more radical of the GOP are now attacking our Constitution and our Bill of Rights, in a misguided attempt to garner some much needed votes, they really are fools, and leading the GOP towards obscurity because they are no longer a party of ideas, just of empty suits. Your hate made you do it, in November; you will reap what you have sown. I wonder what Abraham Lincoln would say about todays GOP, he unlike the current GOP was a man of ideas". -Benito

Oh Brother, more lunacy from Joe B.
Joe B fails to understand the historic ass-kicking the Democrats are going to get in November. Why?

1) The Democrats decided all taxpayers have to pay the healthcare costs of 40 million people who are uninterested in paying for their own health care plan. The issue of force, where Democrats said you have no choice...was an assault on personal freedom. Unprecedented in American history.

2) Obama plans to sue Arizona for enforcing immigration laws of the United States. Not hard to tell which side he is on.

3) Government deciding they control all... even the economy...with their "stimulus" plan has been a bad joke and a disaster.

Conservative rule in 2010 as the country steers towards freedom and away from Socialism.

8:50PM - Benito is indeed a day laborer who got part of that $40k grant to help illegals post their plight on USC's blog "Vozmob"

Viva la razza!

Sorry Benito:

It's not about immigration in this election, it's about the economy.

I don't know who Benito is. The only Benito I've ever known of is Benito Santiago. He was a good baseball player.

Joe B... I am Republican and I agree with the premise of your post but not with how you actually say it.
The Republicans are a dying party. They may well win back the house, but if they're not competitive in CA and NY, it's over. The GOP is irrelevant in CA. They've delivered ZERO for their constituents- mainly the Central Valley.

HOWEVER. What is so different about the democrats? They race bait really well too!

Tell me the last time the Dems did something for the hispanic community? Something of substance on immigration?

W presented the longest and thickest olive branch. The GOP said NO, but the dems didn't step up. Not even in 2007 when they controlled both houses and W again said let's do something.

Instead of taking on 1070 from a legal standpoint, O(NO) used it for political points. Pelosi and Reid used it to gain political points. O(NO) waited 3 months before actually pursing legal recourse. 3 MONTHS!!!

I'm sure Benito knows that Dems talk the walk, but at the end of the day, when the UAW, AFL-CIO, SEIU, checks clears, they seldom walk the talk.

You can't just pick one side and attack Joe. You just sound like a bitter partisan who is unable to accept that America, for the most part, has woken up and won't take the political BS anymore.

What the GOP and the rest of America don't get about the Tea Party movement is... act or go home.

Joe,

Why am I not suprised that you wouldn't write about that BLACK female CFO who took Obama to task today, telling him that she is "exhausted of defending you, and your promises for 'change we can believe in.'"

Why didn't you write about that shocking clip of this exchange in OBAMA'S own town hall meeting?

Think about this:

Legal Immigration is a FEDERAL LAW
Paying taxes is a FEDERAL LAW
If illegals can get away breaking a Federal Law by staying in this country illegally, then not paying Federal Taxes should be a FEDERAL LAW that we all can break and get away with.

That black woman taking Obama to task said that in order to keep paying for two kids in private school, she and her husband might have to go back to eating pork and beans like their younger days.

What's so bad about pork and beans or "the salad days" or eating mac and cheese again?

And this implies that only the really poor send their kids to public school. Certainly the Obamas don't. Maybe is rich Dems AND Republicans wherever they lived sent their kids to public school, they'd improve.

Ha-ha the westside sending kids to Hollywood and Fairfax High, Emerson and the other middle schools. After Warner Elem. it's all the Private School Scramble, baby. They they bash those who point out that these "westside" schools are in fact over 90% Latino and black because whites who live in the area shun them, and haven't fought for their share of the crazily overpriced building funds which all go to the kids of Latinos on the Eastside.

Which means that a common source of community in some towns, and what used to be the case in L A - public schools, is gone, not the glue it should be.

Just try to find a person in the Bel Air or Benedict Canyon or Laurel Canyon who goes to their local schools unless it's Warner or Wonderland Elementary.

Fact that they DO go to those schools and parents help out galore shows what a HUGE change LAUSD has missed in its Latino centric pandering.

Benito,

The economy is not the issue. People who entered this country without permission have commited a federal crime. Like other "criminals" who violate the laws of this country, they have no rights.

BENITO IT'S NOT ABOUT THE ECONOMY IT'S ABOUT PEOPLE ENTERING THE COUNTRY ILLEGALLY THEN TELLING PEOPLE HERE LEGALLY WHAT TO DO. YOU MISSED THE POINT, WE HAVE IMMIGRATION LAWS THAT WERE BROKEN YET A PERSON CAN GET MANY OF THE SAME PRIVLEDGES AS A CITIZEN. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN IN MEXICO. YOU NEED TO READ THESE AMERICAN LAWS MORE CLOSELY. NO ONE IS GOING TO KILL ILLEGALS JUST SEND THEM HOME. WE DID NOT MAKE THEIR COUNTRIES PROBLEMS THEY DID. THEY NEED TO FIGHT FOR THEIR RIGHTS AT HOME. I WOULD SUPPORT THAT CAUSE.
