She's done it!
Meg Whitman has spent more of her own money on her campaign than any candidate for political office in US history! Her personal contribution to buy the governorship of California has reached a staggering $119 million and counting.
This is either one hell of a vanity project, and/or sadly, California may be about to be sold to the highest bidder.

Unfortunately Meg will end up being another Schwarznegger. She'll tell us whatever we want to hear, and then do something completely different. Too bad. A good outsider could have won this year, but I think once the voting public plugs into the fact that she's spent over $120 million dollars and hasn't voted in 30 years, they will figure out this phony for what she is.
Given the woeful, and I really mean woeful, choices that voters have had over the last 30 years, I don't blame Meg for exercising her right NOT to vote for anyone she does not like.
As for Meg being another Schwarzenegger, no, I don't think she's a phony democrat in disguise who just wants to be popular. Meg is someone who will know when to play her cards, unlike Schwarzenegger who screwed up when he took on the nurses and teachers and had nobody behind him.
Meg, please spend another $120M to make sure CA doesn't fall back 30 years into the grip of Jerry Brown and his f'd up notion of a perfect world.
I despise Whitman because of her lack of character and her support of abortion.
However, she is free to spend her own money as she sees fit.
Voters are free to reject her if they so choose.

Whitman EARNED a billion dollars by creating an INDUSTRY that created tens of thousands of JOBS.

I come from the corporate world, and can tell you that the ONLY reason for an entity to rebrand is when there is a problem, or stagnation, with the old brand.
Suddenly, the Dems went from Hope & Change to "Change that Matters."
That's because the FIRST brand, "Hope and Change" simply didn't work.

You still have not told me if Obama, having spend $800M, bought the presidency.
You still haven't told me if it's ok for a candidate to get 80% of their campaign funding from special interest groups and win.
I believe, not 100% sure- feel free to correct me on this, 70% of Brown's campaign dollars have come from special interest groups. With unions having agreed to spend and additional $50M on ads for him.

Simply, If Whitman spends HER own money, and you call that buying a campaign, isn't the same if a candidate uses special interest money?
Also, I could go out there and spend millions of my own money too on advertising... I'm not BUYING votes. You don't win with just ads... you need votes.

The problem with government is that it isn't run like an EFFICIENT business. Few know how to innovate and run an EFFICIENT business better than Meg Whitman.
I realize that your Socialistic sensibilities can't comprehend this, but efficiency and innovation is what gave America such a great start in its early life. Efficiency and innovation built up this country to the point where people like you can subsist on whatever income you make for your family, and the freedom to resent success in others.
What has Jerry Brown ever done in the private sector? Anything? He has milked every public sector job for more than four decades.
If that's the best you've got, you should go back to the drawing board. Meg, as wrong as she is on the immigration issue, will be YOUR and my next governor.

It's unfortunate that Jerry Brown is using the Bell salary scandal in order to try and advance his flailing campaign.
As Attorney General for the state, he should go about his job, and prosecute the wrongdoers, and not use it as an opportunity to grandstand.
Brown doesn't know that doing his job well is the best advertisement for advancement. He should take Steve Cooley's lead on this.
