Political Pandering 101 with CD14 Councilman Jose Huizar and nice SUV by the way
It was my idea to create this monument to celebrate El Sereno’s identity. But why is the Public Works Commission President Cynthia Ruiz turning away from me?
You too, can have the taxpayers pay $53,000 for your custom SUV, if elected to City Council. Just don’t let KRLA’s Kevin James know where we bought it at.
This is one tough ribbon to cut, kinda like the critique of this monument.
Kids are always good props for photos to promote the vision of your Councilman. BTW, can you find the miniature golf course on those hills?

My thought is that the more you write about Huizar, the more I like him, because all you do is repeat the same comments with the same STALKER photos.
Seriously, following the guy around to photograph his new car suggestions a few things about YOU Red Spot:
1. You're jealous that a homie went to a top school and landed a great paying and powerful job.
2. You're jealous that the spoils that goes with STUDYING, as you obviously didn't do, includes a first-rate vehicle of your choice.
3. You're a lonely man with nothing better to do than go around a la Robert DeNiro in Cape Fear and others.
4. It's lost on you that you're where you are, rather than where Huizar is, because he WORKED at it, and used whatever advantages playing the race card allowed. But he did it. And he's not in jail.
Sorry pally. But as far as anyone knows, including you, the man hasn't broken any laws, and is living large with the perks that come from ACCOMPLISHMENT, WORKING and WINNING in life.
And before you accuse me of being mary cummins or any other person, let me say that you've never met, seen or spoken with me, and I've never met or spoken with Huizar.
This is just an observer's point of view after reading a hundred of these same, small-minded commentaries of yours. Last week you posted THREE in a ROW.

Huizar has my vote. The new street lights that were installed in my neighborhood make a world of difference. Thank you LA City Maintenance for making our nights brighter!
By Huizar completing the Valley Grade Separation Bridge he has earned my vote. No more trains blowing their loud whistles at night or day. My family gets a good nights rest, and my kids study without any boisterous interruptions. Kudos for Huizar!

I don't know the guy, and think half of what you say is true. But he's getting the job done, at least as well as any of the other idiots on city council.
But your jealousy of how well he is paid for the job blinds your ability to see that. It's funny how he possesses so many, if not all, of the things that you covet, but don't have.
I live in CD 14 and think that Huizer does as little as he can get away with , in my area anyway.
His sitting on his behind doing nothing is what made our neighborhood the densest pot shop area in the city. He sits on the committee that let this mess run rampant.
By the way, does anyone know if he is even a U.S. citizen? He often brags about being born in Mexico.
Yeah, he's a likable guy, but seems to take his job very lightly.
Huizar got the pot mess in control along with Nuch. i know, i live in your same neighborhood and testified once in council. he was the only councilmember who understood the issue. we are not out of the mess however, some indignant operators are still selling--but it is much better than before. I've seen him in action and has done a lot in our neighborhood and larger community.
There is an election coming. Anyone that wants a change in CD14 can vote for someone else.
Does anyone know who will be running against Huizar? Or against any of the other candidates?
At least some are termed out in 2 years. I just can not wait.
Although the deadline to file as a candidate isn't until November, so far there are three people reporting to Ethics the funds raised to run in CD14.
CD 14 TOTALS, as of June 30:
Jose Huizar; Raised - $151,825
Rudy Martinez; Raised - $25,000
Arnulfo Yanez; Raised - $725

. . . one has to wonder if the Huizar hatchet team that's carved up his last two opponents will begin referring to Martinez as a (house-)flip-flopper.
Or was he, maybe, one of the original "five sleazy bar owners" (think WAY back, Mayor Sammistas . . .) that tried to recall Councilmember Villaraigosa with their unrealized army of under-the-radar $99 contributions, about the same time he ("officially") starting running to unseat Hahn.
Either way, the payouts from Huizar's funds so far don't make it look like Parque Esquelto will be part of the hunting party this time.
Maybe he'll get to be a media commentator this time. That's what unemployed consultants do during presidential races.
Rudy Martinez is running. I also hear two other potentially strong candidates are in the wings, including a former staffer (not Alvin Parra), who is deciding whether or not to run.
I'll vote for Rudy Martinez "if" he promises to fix Deadman's Curve on Alhambra Ave/Concord/Mission. Huizar may have completed that bridge on Eastern, but he hasn't fixed Deadman's Curve. I hear they have some nasty accidents. Too bad Huizar doesn't care about making safer roads for El Sereno. Huizar has lost my vote.
WTF??? Huizar council staffers on here posting like crazy. They are in denial. Everyone in CD14 knows Huizar is the most disliked councilman in the city. He has done nothing for constituents, takes credit for accomplishments of others, has to put up his picutre on banners everywhere he goes cause no one knows who he is. CD14 especially the Eastside looks more like Tijuana then the city of LA because Huizar grew up around trash and feels comfortable around uneducated people. He has helped his friends come here from Zacatecas, Mexico. He does more for the illegals in the city then legal residents. He attends more events with people from Mexico then Angelenos. Rumor has it he is next in line to get indicted.
#1) Huizar's Toyota SUV is a hybrid, you can see that in the stalker photos Rood Spit is always posting.
#2) Every councilman gets the same amount for their car. If they want something more, they pay for it themselves, not the taxpayers. Why don't you learn how things work before spouting off, Reed Spart?
#3) Rudy Martinez is a bar owner and off-network reality TV character who has no experience or background in government, but I guess he's watched enough of it on TV to think he can do the job. He is loaning money to his own campaign to keep it afloat, that should say enough right there.
#4) That curve in El Sereno is a Cal-Trans (state) issue, not a city one and it's been a problem for decades. Why not go and blame the dealmakers who put it there as part of the "improvements" in the area decades ago, instead of blaming a current day elected official for not "fixing" it. To change the placement of roads, you need more than a magic wand or a big mouth to complain about things you don't understand.
HUIZAR HAS NO ANSWERS EITHER... SOME PEOPLE DON'T WATCH WHAT GOES ON IN CITY HALL. AND THE DEBTS GO ON...
BTW..7:57am & 6:39pm, a connector road was supposed to solve that dangerous curve problem...but Nooooo, the powers that be had to push for a 710 Tunnel....That's how our wonderful politicians "FIX" things here in El Sereno....NOW, thanks to LA RED, they are circulating a petition against the 710 Tunnel...So be sure to sign that petition...Go LA RED!

As an educated Mexican American I feel offended at the racist remarks about Mexicans, at the same time these Mexican American politicans have made me ashamed to say I'm Mexican American and I'm a DEM who voted those fools in. They lied and spun a great one. They became the good old boys they once read about in Chicano Studies class. Don't Glorify Huizar or Villariagosa as hispanic crusaders. These are some of the worst politicians this city has seen in a long time. Why is my street still in need of repair and my sidewalk still in disrepair? Where is the Revitalization of Huntington Dr. . Why do we not have rail transit down Valley Blvd? Is the City still trying to push the Valley Connector Road? What a waste of Road money. Alhambra used its money to build a park and make road improvements.
What is the City of L.A. doing with its mitigation money? Stop the Valley Connector Road and stop wasting money. El Sereno does not need to do what South Pasadena wants. No more Valley Connector Road.

In the next election ask the those running for office who they align themselves with and who they support and that will tell you what political wing they belong too. Stop the Villar ,Molina, Huizar selfish movements. They do not serve our community! And Why is Val on the LA32 council! Get him out! He supports Huizar and Villar!
Villar was at a the recent Union meeting for Boxer, but why is he there, he just pushed for 1,000 union jobs to be fired. This guy is not a union supporter, he is a supporter of himself!
every CD 14 project should disclose what political contributions have been made by the consultants , construction company or anyone else associated with the project.
