At last, the Federal Court doing it's job. Now can we get serious about the illegal alien thing?

They did, that's why sb1070 was struck down as well.

I don't know about this.
I am for equal marriage rights, but I'm uncomfortable with how we got here... and I think everyone who cares about the legitimacy of our government should be too.
Neither the AG or Gov office backed a law passed by 52% of the people. Defending a state wide supported law fell to a group. Basically, the government refused to even present a case saying that it is legitimate for citizens to vote on and approve of changes to the state constitution.
Obviously this was going to the SC from day 1, and the SC will make equal marriage legal. And, I'm hoping, remove the religious term of marriage from government.
But the precedence being set by Arnold and Brown is not stomach-able.

This is B. S. Activist judges deciding social policy and giving voters the middle finger.

Great, now Phil and Zuma can get married. I think we all know who will be the wife.

Phil, rather than throwing perjoratives around, why don't you do something new and use LOGIC, and say tht the judge should've recused himself because HE is openly gay.
If you did that, you'd at least have a point to make. But why do you never surprise me with your silly outbursts instead of logic?

Well, you just knew that the gay basher, Jennerjahn, would have to speak up and say something stupid. Phil, ruling a law unconstitutional is not making social policy, it is examining whether a law passes the US Constitution sniff test. You remember the Constitution don't you?
It's that document that keeps getting in the way of all you tea baggers.

Even Michael Higby agrees with this...
How to lose in November-
State GOP chairman Ron Nehring says, "The California Republican Party is firm in its support of traditional marriage and looks forward to the matter being resolved in a higher court."

PHIL, I KEEP ASKING YOU THIS, BUT YOU ALWAYS DODGE THE ANSWER.
YOU SAY THAT THIS IS A SLAP IN THE FACE TO THE VOTERS. THAT THE VOTERS' CHOICE NEEDS TO BE RESPECTED.
BUT ON THE FLIP SIDE, BY RUNNING A RECALL, YOU DIDN'T RESPECT THE VOTE OF THE PEOPLE WHO ELECTED VILLARAIGOSA?
NOW, I HATE VILLARAIGOSA AS MUCH AS THE NEXT PERSON. AND AS BEST AS ANYONE CAN TELL, HE HASN'T BROKEN ANY LAWS WHILE MAYOR. SO WHY DON'T YOU RESPECT THE VOTE OF THE PEOPLE?
HOW ABOUT ANSWERING THE QUESTION THIS TIME, SINCE EVERYONE KNOWS YOU'VE READ THE QUESTION.
AND IF YOU DECIDE TO NOT ANSWER THE QUESTION, I HOPE THAT THE MAYOR SAM CREW ASKS THE QUESTION OF YOU OVER AND OVER UNTIL YOU ARE FORCED TO RESPOND.
ANSWER THE DAMN QUESTION, PHIL. WHY ARE YOU HYPOCRITICALLY DEFENDING THE VOTE OF THE PEOPLE IN ONE INSTANCE, BUT GO AGAINST THE VOTE OF THE PEOPLE IN ANOTHER?

Why is anyone celebrating?
Gay marriage has a stay to prevent it until higher court(s) rule.
Tomorrow morning, nothing will be different, so once again, Joe B. doesn't tell the full story.
I'm pro-gay marriage, but the intellectual dishonesty in this "report" is considerable.

Where in this post did I say Gays can start marrying right away? This was about Prop 8 being overturned.

This issue is not really about gay marriage. It is about freedom. No one has the right to tell someone else how to live their lives, not the government or other people.
