Legendary actor Dennis Hopper, star of classics such as Easy Rider and many others, and one of the few out Republicans in Hollywood has died at the age of 74.

Hopper is the second well known celebrity to die of prostate cancer I've heard of. There is absolutely no reason for that to happen. Early diagnosis equates to almost a 100% cure rate. Medicine and surgery has come a long way in the last ten years or so. I know. I had surgery over 5 years ago and I'm cancer free today with no adverse effect on my life. I just can't get anyone pregnant - that's not so bad!
It's generally a good idea that Mayor Sam readers not get anyone pregnant.
Dennis was iconic in many of his roles. I will not forget his creepy character in Blue Velvet.
Ever since leaving Diff'rent Strokes, trouble found him. And he was a nasty little twerp to people who couldln't help him earn a buck.
