Los Angeles Political Hotsheet for Wednesday

Screw you, Kagel Canyon!

The much ballyhooed protest event held yesterday on the steps of City Hall to demand that the heads of the LA City Council members be placed on a stick for boycotting Arizona, drew a grand total of 30 silly angry people.

Coincidentally, the organizers of the failed protest event, the Republican Party of LA County is under siege by the Rand "It's my lunch counter, dammit" Paul Tea Bag Party, and now a judge is being asked to separate the children and restore order.

SB1070 part 2 is soon to arrive! Now the author of Arizona's controversial "Show Me Your Papers" law has another bright idea and wants to overturn the 14th amendment of the Constitution and kick out kids born on American soil . You stay classy Arizona!

Richard Alarcon had a breakdown in City Council yesterday during the discussion over appointing Irma Munoz to the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy.
While other council members used their time to praise the important work of the SMMC , Alarcon used his time to cry about the SMMC opposing his proposed truck driving school on the designated open space of the former Lopez Canyon Landfill. Kagel Canyon residents are the community most impacted by the landfill and the bizarre & obsessive efforts by Alarcon to open the school no matter how many organizations tell him how bad this project is (the ENTIRE LA County Board of Supervisors for starters). He also demanded a report from Ms. Munoz on why no one from the SMMC contacted him before issuing their letter in opposition to Alarcon's ridiculous Pet Project. Maybe because the SMMC has better things to do than subject themselves to the rants and ravings from the Tyrant of CD 7? Note to Alarcon: Jobs or Taxes is not a valid reason for a zone variance, especially on Open Space.

And finally, I gave a tour of the homeless camps in the Tujunga Wash for the LA Times yesterday. Here is the story and photos.

Joe Barrett I really doubt Higby wants you to do hotsheets as the talking points memo for the Democratic party.

who are the 4 ass clowns who kissed enough ass to get on?
Maybe the LA gop needs something to shake them up.
Dinosaurs.

I think the sun is getting to the people in AZ. You can't take away someone's citizenship! But I hope they pass the law. The SC ruling is going to be a lot of fun to read.
I'm sure for once in a blue moon, Thomas and Ginsburg would be on the same side.

Rule 5: Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It’s hard to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.

New York Sen. Charles Schumer, who famously hammered then-Sen. Alfonse D'Amato for calling him a "putz-head" in their hot 1998 campaign, was accused Thursday of stepping into the gutter himself after he sent out a fundraising e-mail in which he called Massachusetts Republican Senate candidate Scott Brown a "far-right tea-bagger."

Joe B- good work on the homeless story! Also like your photo/caption of AlarCON.

Valley Doll, strange, you don't look 12!

And what's wrong with MAD Magazine? I grew up with it and I am a close personal friend of Dick DeBartolo! Well okay not really close personal friend, he just responded to an email I sent him once about some Motorola Bluetooth Headphones he reviewed on his gadget podcast.

The shallow depths of the "Bloggin Troika" never fails to amaze me. Both Joe B., Mulholland T and the "Talkin Valley Doll" (think "Talking Tina Doll from the Twilight Zone). jumped all over the County GOP Lawsuit story without knowing who were the self-proclaimed "Tea Party people".

One of them is well known to city activists, he is none other than homeless activist Ted Hayes. Need I say what race T.H. is?

Joe B. and city political activists will know this name, he is Jose Aguilar, who was just voted the new President of the Boyle Heights Neighborhood Council. If I remember Jose was a supporter of "No Home Depot Campaign", but then I guess they were not looking to screen out "tea party people" at that time.

I amazes me how some are quick to racial profile those who believe in a certain political philosophy.
But then it seems that "racial profiling" is becoming the "new McCarthyism", of the far Left.
