It's Paul Krekorian of course. He is a very devoted public servant. Instead of taking time off after his brutal election to LA Council, he flew to Sacramento becuase it is his job to be there representing his constituents. He is truly a man of the people.
A big, happy family. God help us.
I can imagine the f....deals made to come to an ending, acceptable to all.
Poor seniors, students, sick people , the disabled and on and on.
What it shows is how leftist and wrong for California he is. Only Essel backed by DWP and now the growingly unpopular NUCH gives up Paul#2, another carpetbagger with the initials PK from the assembly, the most broken, anti-job, anti-freedom legislative body since the East Gernmen assembly.

Paul may vote against a DWP pay raise but he already voted to increase our energy bills with the Sacramento Green energy scam giving Hedie"s friends a corner on the energy market in California

At least they're now going to have their salaries cut from $127,000 to $98,000 and lose a lot of their per diem and other perks.
Fred Rogin has an online NBC show that Kevin Roderick had a link to today featuring Jack Weiss and Celeste Freeman the blogger and professor and that's one of the issues they were asked about.

Saw Paul Krekorian tonight at the VANC Holiday Mixer. Had a brief chat. He looked as if the weight of the world was off his shoulders.
Definitely the right person won the CD2 seat.
However, he may think he's jumped from the frying pan into the fire when he shows up for work at the horeshoe.
At the rate we are drawing down reserves, we may not need the half off initiative. The Council will have to work for one-tenth of the current salary.
The connection with Antonio and John Perez is already a negative. The fact that California voted against Prop 8 is another issue. John seems smart but with all due respect he desperately needs to lose weight. He breaths really hard and I think the stress will hurt his health.

That is great that Krekorian showed up at the holiday mixer. I just read that he showed up at a STNC meeting the night before and now I see that he was at a neighborhood council function last night? Two nights in a row!
Great way to start the job, Paul! Thank you for remembering that NC's put you in your CD 2 seat. Keep listening to the average person, which is who NC's are and you'll be great.
I have the greatest admiration for what the S-T NC accomplishes, their sense of community and so on. But paul must also remember the rest of the district AND the whole city - with equal emphasis and a broader eye for the greater good. Much of the problem right now is each of the circle-jerks just panders to their own district and worse, to maybe 1-2 NC's and HOA's that are loudest. They become just another special interest, the very things they protest when it's unions or developers or anyone else.
So to previous poster who says REMEMBER the NC's who put Paul in office, i say remember the REST of the people do, who aren't homeowners or as active as you, and didn't vote in this 15% turnout special election for various other reasons - but until we represent only those who show up to vote, we must remember the silent majority, too.

Just got my crystal ball back from the jewelers. It's nice and shiny and the blurred image of Chris Essel has been removed.
For the record, my first choice was Pete Sanchez in the primary.

Paul is about to get a strong dose of LA City politics.
After a coupole of weeks, he will wish he was back in the legislature enjoying life and spending our money.
Now he will find out what effect his tax and spend measures have wreaked upon us here in LA.
