Pugliese Endorses Krekorian
NORTH HOLLYWOOD – Louis Pugliese, a leader in the education community for more than 15 years, announced this week he has endorsed Los Angeles City Council candidate Paul Krekorian in his bid for the Second District.
“As a former school board president in Burbank, I can fully appreciate the contributions Louis has made to better our community and am proud to welcome him in this campaign to reform Los Angeles,” Krekorian said. “I have much to gain from Louis' in-depth grasp of LAUSD and will be proud to work closely with him as we seek new and innovative ways to improve our education throughout the Valley and Sunland-Tujunga. With Louis at my side, we are one step closer to ensuring our schools get their proper funding and making certain every child has as much opportunity to succeed as possible.”
Pugliese, 58, a CD2 resident living in Sun Valley, was heavily praised for his two school board runs in which he garnered widespread community, parental and neighborhood support.
“It is clear to me that Paul has what it takes to shake the Downtown power structure and get the job done for our children and families throughout this district,” said Pugliese, who now teaches education courses at Cal State Northridge while also serving on the city's Commission for Children, Youth and Their Families. “Paul's leadership throughout our state on education issues shows he is more than able to navigate the city's educational maze to help fix our broken system. I have been thoroughly impressed with the grassroots support he has already garnered and look forward to working in close concert with him as I know the second council district will benefit from his leadership, ingenuity and responsiveness.”

"Paul has what it takes to shake the downtown power structure and get the job done" is a HUGE OXYMORON. The downtown power structure is already shaken and not stirred, unable to make a single decision because they're afraid of their own backs, from each other as well as constituents. What they lack is someone who can get them all to row on the same team, in the same direction. Everyone felt that was such a bad thing they've now got a rowing crew that's rowing in every different direction, they can't manage a single decision and bumble even more than ever - spend their time on the most minor and irrelevant stuff to look useful.
If that's not enough, the nitwit who's in the city attorney job is too busy threatening to put them in jail on a whim, as well as anyone else who disagrees with him, when he's not wasting time and money on his and Cooley's pot crusade directly counter to the state and national winds.
Knowing that, and wanting to waste no time before the pot shops collect enough recall petitions against the both of them, Zine is taking Trutanich's ordinance which undermines everything PLUM has worked on for months in cooperation with the medical cannabis community, to avoid lawsuits and allow open only the most established and law-abiding shops, straight to the full council to circumvent PLUM.
He's cobbled together what he hopes is enough of a majority, including "what high school did he go to, what are we voting on?"
La Bonge. And Parks, Rosendahl (don't ask), probably lost Perry. (Is he really going to arrest her for eating hamburgers under her desk?) Someone should arrest them ALL for being clueless - they don't need any more shaking up.
And who's Pugliese, anyway? He ran and lost twice and so - ? I'm not saying I'm FOR Paul or not, they both suck. (Really odd endorsement from the Daily Snooze - didn't mention Essel at all.)

Louis is highly respected throughout CD2. I'm voting for Paul based on his endorsement.

Didnt he endorse Tamar in the Primary? He's good at picking the losers. He's picked another one.

Pugliese is a good guy, this should be worth some votes.

Well, I thought he would be good for a few votes until I read that Tamar remark. Now I wonder. But no matter, the same thing goes for him that every single candidate must do. Knock on every door in CD 2 to beat Essel.
Help Paul win!

Puglise is a deal cutter who is out for his own political interests. He's a good guy but his endorsement means nothing because it's all about what's in it for Louis. This is a bad reflection him. He's now on the outs with my little click.

Louis did NOT endorse Tamar or anyone else in the primary.
He's about as far from a "deal-cutter" as you can get-
In fact, he was encouraged to support Tamar because her win would open up her school board seat but he didn't.
Remember at the SOHA when Tamar said they would appoint someone to the school board if she won? Who do you think she meant?
Can you spell integrity?

Louie has nothing but the highest integrity.
And he has plenty of clout. He's one of the few "grassroots" candidates we have that has run serious and not vanity campaigns and achieved much despite having little in resources. That's the measure of the man.

The Essel people have no class, attack Paul all you want. Going after Pugliese will just piss off a lot of good folks in CD2.
Pugliese is picking the best of the final two choices, and at this point we would be idiots not to unite against Essel.

Krekorian comes at a huge cost. Over 2 million for a special election to fill an assembly seat. Besides if he really cared about the community he'd stay where he is and do his job.

The clowncil said today it cost about $80/ vote so far for the CD2 race - wasn't clear if that was for the Controller election AND the SEpt. primary or if it projected the final contest (don't see how it could have). Which they said meant it should have been a MAIL ONLY election all along.
That would have leveled the playing field, since Essel only got so far because of her mailers, while Tamar had no money and Slimes' Zahniser because of Shallman/Essel and Krekorian/Hacopian, jumped all over her for the one LAUSD mailing she did have. Zahniser was especially sleazy giving his "man" Shallman a soundbite to say Tamar was "corrupt" when it was a lie, nothing but an allegation. Those 2 also sent out their lies/ hit pieces. If everyone had their literature sent out to all voters with the ballot it would have
