CD 2 Candidate Chris Essel's "Carpetbag" refilled with $141,019 for runoff

" This burro is laden with $$$$ of Special Interest money"
The latest Ethics Commission filing period for the CD 2 Special Election has come and gone.
Chris Essel reported $141,019 in contributions and has $161,000+ in cash on hand. For Paul Krekorian, he could use a handout as he has only $1,684 in cash and has yet to report any contributions for this filing period.

One can surmise after viewing these contributions, that "Essel is the chosen vessel" of LA's perceived power brokers.
We will highlight Krekorian's contributions once they are posted at the Ethics website.
** OTHER CD 2 SPECIAL ELECTION NEWS:
KRLA 870 AM Talk Radio Host Kevin James will have both Chris Essel and Paul Krekorian in studio for a debate this evening at 9:00 PM. Callers will be able to ask questions of the respective candidates.

Red Spot, I have to ask, since it's the simplest solution to your obnoxious grammatical failing.

Why don't you use spellchock?

Why don't you use grommerchock?

My guess is that it's your laziness, since this would help retire your horrendous spolling. Why don't you use it?

Well now Shallman can add another wings to his mansion.

She had more money the last time and she lost, Essel will lose again on December 8th.

How do you say bought and paid for?

Money from Ari Swiller: and she claims she is not AV's candidate.

I know both consultants in this race, it will take 3 Shallman dollar to beat 1 Hacopian dollar.

Sorry Essel but your out of luck.

You lost this race when the consultant's where being hired.

The greater the support from downtown and city hall, the less the support from district voters on a December 8th Special Election only activists care about.

She just hanged herself.

Rid Spoot now considers this a part of his "unique" personality. Like Dean Martin pretending to be a drunk, and Schwarzenegger speaking like he's right out of the Austrian countryside, for the last 25 years (he was really born in Wisconsin and talks pretty much like the rest of us if you catch him off guard).

Spoot would rather appear ignorant than be forgettable, and since his spelling errors attract more attention than his incredibly boring and unimportant posts, well - why rock the boat.

The cushiest Council seat money can buy.

I'm no fan of Krekorian, but Essel is too much. Does she have any contributors other than Wendy Greuel who actually live in the district?

Yikes, that's it, I'm voting for Krekorian. She's not even elected yet and she's going to be part of the "system". Hello Billboards, Hello Son of Measure B, Hello Special Interest Contracts, Hello SB1818 and Hello Wendy Greuel"s staff if Essel wins!

Oh, and she had all those years at Paramount to bring the Entertainment business back to L.A., and it's apparent she wasn't successful. Why would she be sucessful now. How many pictures did Paramount and also their subsidiary productions produce in the City of L.A. vs out of town? I'm not drinking that kool Aide either!

In fact, what specifically is Essel's claim to fame? My inquiring mind wants to know. Obviously, she will have to depend on Wendy Greuel and all her special interest friends to guide her, or, she will be lead by the nose by the other council members.

Essel? No thanks, I'll pass.

Read through her report, my conclusion.

Shallman and Burnside are taking her to the cleaners. They have twice the money for half the campaign Krekorian's has.

Your assertions is based on what facts? She outspent Krekorian two to one in the primary and lost.

All Krekorian needs is money to get him message out, if he can do that then it wont matter worth a bit.

Recheck your figures, Red Spot ... looks like Krekorian has $74,032.98 cash on hand for the general election.

It's only a guess, but I'd say there's a reason downtown interests are supporting Essel in the Valley council race.

I don't see that it would be anything connected to the good of the residents and businesses of CD-2, either.

It might be, oh, possibly, self-interests? I'd have to go with that.

(As to whether the dollar backing will make Essel a winner- I don't know. That will depend on how many of the factions brings out the most to the polls, and many just rely on the glossy brochures, i.e., "what a nice picture and look how good a job they say here that s/he does.... I guess I will vote for this one."

And then you have the insiders and activists who just about can recite either side's bio, but those aren't ever the majority.

Good luck, CD-2. Maybe Kevin James' tonight will bring out more useful information from the two candidates.

Hey Anonymous who seems to know both consultants,

Your forgot that 1 Hacopian dollar = 2 dollars from the Assembly account, 2 dollars from Felipe Fuentes and a whole bunch of under the table "walking around" cash for the illegal Armenian absentee voter program. This is how Krekorian outspent Essel in the Primary and will try to do the same now.

No surprise here. Essel is bought and paid for. Always has been. Electing her means lining the pockets of the privileged few at the expense of CD 2 communities.

Very perceptive.

In any race of this nature, Hacopian will eat Shallman's lunch.

And i have worked for both of them.
