This is the city: Los Angeles, California. I work here. I'm an ex-mayor. Los Angeles is a magnet for people from all over the world. Some of them run for public office. Inevitably some of them stray from the golden rule and rule for those that have the gold. That's when I go to work. My name is Yorty. I'm a dead pol.

I work at a clip library service for local news outlets, and your "segment" was purely a man on the street segment.
You can call it an apple pie if you want, but all it is in reality is a man on the street interview.

No, it was not "member of public whose opinion was sought." I was FEATURED in the segment. I really hope you are being paid to spin here, because you really cannot be serious, but if you really do not think I was FEATURED on ABC News Nightline you are dumb. So I hope you are getting paid. If not, you got REAL problems. And again, there is NO way around the fact that I WAS, indeed, F-E-A-T--U-R-E-D, on ABC News Nightline! I'm gonna close all my comments with that.

Nice gesture Phil. It's shameful that Zuma Dogg and his hater are so disrespectful as to post their usual self promotion without regard for the post. Especially shameful because you are seeking to honor our men in uniform who laid their life down in battle.
Zuma Dogg never wore the uniform nor has ever even held a job so he does not care.
I think Mayor Sam should erase the Zuma Dogg the Clown messages along with those of his "fans."

Here's how it works people:
Operative posts an off topic comment about me on these threads. And it is usually something someone copies from my own blog, then posts it here, then complains about it.
And 9:49am, Mr. Boo Hoo Hoo is the culprit. (Now, they will post, "No Zuma, you are wrong, I am just a random reader of this blog who came across it on a Google search and I am also a fan of yours but feel you are wrong on this one."
It's called propaganda, and I shed no crocodile tears over you boo-hoo-hooing about it.
Yeah, Mayor Sam should stop approving these nutty comments and I will stop responding. Meanwhile, don't make it sound like this is some official ceremony at Arlington Cemetery, weakling, it's the Mayor Sam blog and the only thing people care about is spinning and hit jobs.
I'll be right back with my contribution regarding Antonio "Oh Shoot Now I Have To Kiss Nuch's Ass" Overaigosa.
And Wendy doesn't look too good since Jack lost and Nuch won.
Looks like a lot of hopes and dreams just turned into fears of exposure.
ANYWAY...I bumped into one of my most valuable of inside sources, last night, (works outside city hall, but works with city hall on business) ...he tells me, "stay where you are Zuma Dogg, hang tight...big stuff is about to go down."
He's talking about indictments, and we were talking about the mayor's office.
He also told me, "I have no idea what's going on." (Which wasn't an insult to ZD, because he has told me a lot, so he knows that I know a lot, AND NOW...he is telling me, "I have no idea..." and to, "Hang tight...just stay where you are." (Which he meant, another chance to run for mayor, soon (whether I want to, or not...he was making the point."
THERE!
YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND PEOPLE: The agenda of the weak-ass,i nferior (and he knows it) political operative's goal is to post dumb shit about Zuma Dogg, so you don't talk about the fact that Villar has a HELL of a lot to worry about with Nuch winning instead of Weiss, and the fact that Villar's circle is being investigated, they lost $7 BILLION on Wall Street, and it looks like a lot of shell, risky investments and pay-to-plays and looks like Ron Burlkle (Wetherly), Darius Anderson (Yucaipa/Gold Bridge (to prison) Capital and people like Ari Swiller and other Villar-cronies are in BIG, DOO-DOO!!! And I mean HISTORICALLY BIG DOO-DOO!
And although Andrew Cuomo won't be investigating his boy Antonio, FEDS ARE!
DING DONG...THE MOTHERPHUGHING WICKED WITCH IS(ABOUT TO BE) DEAD!
Get you special election petitions ready...Villaraigosa IS NOT ALLOWED TO RUN FOR GOVERNOR, because Jerry Brown has him in a corner with his "subpoena file"
AND THE RISING SUPERSTAR HAS PEAKED AND IS DECLINING.
Why?: BAD ADVISERS, A BLIND-EYE and GREED.
So you are looking at the last legs of a political machine that can't raise any more money than Zuma Dogg can.
But yeah, I wasn't featured on Nightline, I was only on Nightline, or whatever.c

Mayor Villaraigosa Addresses Narrow Measure H Defeat with Announcement of $65 Million Pension Fund Investment in Workforce Housing Fund
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Following the narrow defeat of Measure H, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa will announce an important public-private commitment to create workforce housing developments in the Los Angeles area, tomorrow, Tuesday, November 14, 11:00 AM at Puerta del Sol condominiums, 360 West Avenue 26, Lincoln Heights, CA 90031.
Mayor Villaraigosa will be joined by executives from LA’s largest public pension funds - Los Angeles City Employees Retirement System (LACERS); Los Angeles County Employee Retirement Association (LACERA); Los Angeles Department of Fire and Police Pensions (LAFPP) - to announce the commitment of a combined $65 million in Genesis Workforce Housing Fund II, a private equity real estate fund managed by Phoenix Realty Group that will create workforce housing developments in the LA area.
The press conference will be held at Puerta del Sol, a workforce housing community that is the fastest-selling new housing development in Los Angeles County and represents the type of development that will be funded with city and county pension investments. Phoenix Realty Group financed Puerta del Sol through the first private equity real estate fund solely targeting workforce housing development in greater Los Angeles.
Investments will target housing affordable to LA’s middle-income workforce, including teachers, firefighters, and nurses.
The Genesis II fund’s projects will be built by private developers throughout greater Los Angeles and are expected to provide 2,250 units of housing to the market over the next four years.

Why Is Wendy Greuel Using Her "Councilmember" Position To RAISE MONEY FOR ANDREW CUOMO?!?!
HERE WE GO AGAIN!!! Why is an L.A. City Councilmember raising money for the shadiest Attorney General, quite possibly in the history of this country?
Wouldn't it be nice, if Villar's and Cuomo's team up to represent N.Y. & L.A., the way Snoop and Dre teamed up, representin' the City of Long Beach & Compton!
Imagine if you had the same shady team in control of the New York governor's office AND California office!!! (That still may be the dream, to have Antonio be Governor in Cali, with Cuomo in NY...although we all know that ain't gonna be happening now, at the time of this invite, it was still all systems go.)
So you can say Wendy was just doing her part as a concered citizen, expressing her first amendment right by feeling the necessity as an L.A. resident to get out there and raise money for NEW YORK Attorney General. HOWEVER, it says "COUNCILMEMBER" Wendy Greuesom of the invitation. So that says to Zuma Dogg that she was using her influence as an elected public official to get people to show up and chip in. And if that is not the case, and Wendy is such a bigshot regular community member, how come they put COUNCILmember on the invitation.
AND, once you read the links above regarding Cuomo, on top of what you probably already know about him...WE NOW HAVE THE CITY CONTROLLER OF LOS ANGELES DOING ON TEAM CUOMO. (Must be nice Wendy...Let's see where else your name pops up!)

Hey kids, let's not bash the homeless. Zuma Dogg has a lot of unrealized potential. He also has a lot of courage. Do any of you think our soldiers died so people conduct themselves in this manner on this blog by grandstanding and insulting each other on Memorial Day? By putting down people who have a right to have a voice? Even if that voice sometimes comes from a misguided instinct?
I say Zuma Dogg should enroll in the military. He could use some discipline and manners. He would also learn how to present his issues without disrespecting people above his rank.
People who have higher rank who get insulted and get yelled at have a tendency not to like it. They also tend do something about it eventually. So on this Memorial Day I pray we keep in mind that we are Americans and we are here to do good for each other.

BACK IN 2005
Try to keep up. I know you don't want to because it destroys your whole personae, but everything in the LA Times editorial from 3 years ago was PLANTED by Parke Skelton and crew, has been DEBUNKED repeatedly AND declared false by legal authorities in the city to the POINT that EVEN the lazy, read-it-all-back-to-me LA Times won't print this stuff anymore.
The newspaper was able to hide behind the "well it LOOKED like smoke" for awhile, story, back then - to avoid lawsuits, but CAN'T ANYMORE. Now they know it was AV's campaign hacks blowing the SMOKE, and just where they were blowing it. (Where the sun don't shine at the L.A. Times).
15-20 times in recent months, some nimnod on this blog has linked that OLD old debunked Times piece (editorial, NOT news), and 20-25 times posters have pointed out POINT by point all of the above showing it's ALL CAMPAIGN LIES from AV's people. (I know, how in the name of 80 fake neighborhood watches could it be possible for them to LIE like that, and not have enybody demand proof!?)
But you just CAN'T give up on a good fable that allows you to defame an honest, productive public servant (who's on the OTHER team), it's just more fun to keep linking bogus material.
Maybe next time you should post a link to the WORLD IS FLAT story from some 12th century newspaper. That was "true" then, as well.

Monica,
I don't think Zuma needs to join the Army. Seriously. People must command respect, especially public servants, and really especially overpaid public servants! They can't demand respect simply because they're city council members or staff, especially when they're not worthy.
Zuma has his own style and it may appear rude to some and not to others. In fact, I know this to be true. I know people both in city hall and out of city hall who like Zuma and I know people in both who don't like him. Frankly, I find more people who do like him than don't no matter where he's brought up.
If Zuma didn't yell like he does, he might not have gotten so many people to listen to him.
Jim McQuiston's style of standing in front of council posing logical budget questions (usually) in his very mannerly and low-key voice gets him where? Oh yeah...that's right... NOWHERE.
Keep it up Zuma. You'll be repaid someday for this. You do good work.
Monica, if you've never met Zuma before, you should walk up to him and introduce yourself. You're a compassionate woman, albeit stern.

Anon @ 2:35 pm - It's obvious that by hating Country Music, you don't know who started the style. Country Music was at one time known as "Hillbilly Music," and was mostly created by the descendants of Irish immigrants.
As Irish immigrants historically supported the Democratic Party, your view that Country Music is so boringly Republican shows that you didn't do well in your History classes in school. Evidently, you may have done equally poorly in Political Science in the area of objective reasoning.
Just because you don't like Country Music doesn't mean none of us should like it. I've got your number: your idea of tolerance is okay by those who agree with your views, but let an opposing view be aired, and immediately your "tolerance" gets tossed out like so much garbage.
That goes for your idea of objective thinking: perhaps you were taught "objective thinking" from a bunch of long-haired hippie-type professors, whose idea of profound thought was repeating some mantra nonsense while smoking a joint.

ALARCON put forth motion to build more banks in LA. "Our city is home to one of the largest unbanked populations in the United States,” Alarcón said in the motion. “An estimated 300,000 Los Angeles households do not have a checking or a savings account."

You have some nerve calling anyone else an idiot.

Actually 5:30 AM, I got an A in History in high school and an A in Political Science in college. Country music wasn't part of our curriculum.
So you can like it all you want, but to me it personifies hillbillies (who I also dislike) and don't know or care what country they came from but I guess a lot of Appalachians came from Ireland so you could be right. (I also read that article over the weekend about inborn traits that referred to the hillbillies in the Appalachian mountains of West Virginia)
I don't like any flag waving, beer chugging, trailer-living, cigarette smoking, wife cheating songs about trucks. Sorry.
I certainly don't care if you like it or not. I would love to do a poll amongst Republicans and Democrats to see who listens to more country. I'm sure I'll be right on the ball when it comes to picking the Republicans.
There were no long hair hippie types teaching anything back when I was in school. Men weren't allowed to attend or teach with that "gay" hair. If there were any professors getting stoned, they were offset by the drunks who refused to smoke. Big difference. One makes you slur and one doesn't.
So you go cry over some George Jones song and I'll go look for a hillbilly country song where a 45 year old man is in love with a 13 year old girl and it's okay in them thar parts.
Anonymous said:
12:52, you're the idiot. Yes you do have to have valid ID and a credit check run on you before you're allowed to open an account.
Obviously you don't have one. Do you think they'll let anyone with a history of bouncing checks, foreign terrorists hiding money, open accounts? Foreigners can open accounts but if illegals have no ID they can't. Isn't that why the Marxist Alarcon is trying to open special banks for them? If it's so easy, why is he involved?
Having said that I don't think it's a bad idea to let illegals put cash into the system where banks can use it, but they need to have Consular Cards from Mexico or wherever they come from. Their home countries have to vouch for them. We don't need criminals or other risks coming here and hiding their money under false names.

Hey retard,
I am not the idiot. You are for posting information when you don't know what you're talking about.
Bank of America will open an account without a drivers license. You can use an individual taxpayer ID number. Look it up here.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ITIN
Just go Google, "Can illegal immigrants open bank accounts" and see what you find.
Some banks offer their own form of identification.
Now who is the idiot really?
Oh right, it's you! Ha Ha
Anonymous said:
I said "valid ID" and never used the word Driver's License, you did. Passports are also valid ID. Not that illegals have those either. But you and Alarcon spending your days figuring how to use our city resources to help illegals is contributing to our fiscal solvency and popularity of L A as a role model for the nation. Open your eyes. Even Obama's requiring anyone who attends his fundraising events to show valid ID, no illegals.
Anonymous said:
The banks are a business and they are allowed to do business with whomever they choose. They get to define what is legal to them when it comes to allowing people to put their money in their institutions.
Anonymous said:
I didn't check into it or anything. But after reading the two arguments between May 26, 2009 2:33 PM and 4:09 PM I think 2:33 PM seems more credible. Just my opinion.
Anonymous said:
4:09 is correct. You must not have a recent bank account mary, being broke and out of work as you are, because you need a SS card and a valid photo ID to open one.
Anonymous said:
It isn't "Driver's License" but rather "Driver License." Take it out of your wallet and look at it.
Anonymous said:
Some banks did give illegals home loans as well as checking accounts with just a Mexican Consular card due to political pressure and greed and that's a huge part of why there are so many foreclosures in Alarcon's district.
But in general you absolutely have to have a Driver License to open anything online and they always ask for it and run a check even if you open the account in a bank (it IS the driver's so who cares, what a jerk).
If you don't have one you'd have to provide passport or something else in person inside the bank and enough info so they can run a credit check. If you have even one dubious check, like someone tried to forge your signature, you can't get an account even if you'e handing them $100,000.
Is Alarcon angry because the banks have gotten tougher on illegals? Shit the rest of us are having our cards eliminated and lines reduced even with great credit and payment history.
