Does this surprise anyone?
If you had to make a financial wager as to the whereabouts of our do-nothing Mayor, you would always need to calculate the location with the highest ratio of TV cameras per square inch.
That's where our Antonio will be.
You can depend on it.
Mayor Sam should have held his Big Debate on the Oscars red carpet. That way he could have guaranteed Antonio's presence.
Truly a picture of one who would perish if he was not able to troll among celebrities for admirers to satisfy his narcissistic side.

Oh, Phil and Anonymous-- tsk, tsk. Where do you expect the mayor of Los Angeles to be INSTEAD of the Oscars? After all, DIDN'T "SLUMDOG" make a solid sweep of the awards? I rest my case!!!
I was 100% certain that our mayor would be at the Oscars. His goal is to be a celebrity - and chase tail.
The better shot would have been of him seated high in the rafters...you know, where the below the line folks were put.

God, can I tell you how much I loathe Antonio Villaraigosa?
We've got to get just enough votes to catapault one of our alternative candidates into the runoff.
And let's not fool one another: we would prefer any of our alternative candidates over AV. That's why getting out the vote is so critical on 3/3/09. Tell your friends; bring them with you.
I've been thinking about last night's Oscar's telecast. I remember a tribute to movie musicals. THE MAYOR WAS WORKING AFTER ALL!!! I'll bet that he was one of the chorus dancers who sang the memorable showtunes from "West Side Story" -- the gang segment where the New York gangs (Jets and Sharks) were dancing, singing and then killing each other. SEE!!! I getit now! This is the mayor's new gang alternative program that he's been talking about in his campaign ads. This is Brilliant!!! He'll have gangs sing, dance and THEN kill each other.
Surprised no one has mentioned who is the woman in the photo trying to not appear as if she's with him. The woman in the red dress. Does anyone know??? Word in his camp is all the negative blogs and media is getting to the gang banger Mayor. Seems no matter how arrogant, egotistical, devious you are ddep down inside you only wnat to be accepted and loved. yeah right!!
Almost all his negative comments are about illegal immigration. If he only stopped making comments that make it seem he can't tell the difference between legal and illegal immigrants he'd cut out a lot of it. I think he's gotten a lot more sensible than he was a decade ago, so there's hope. However if he runs for Governor, he's got Newsom as someone whose city actually invites illegals, so he's got to tread carefully there and not end up actually looking more anti-Latino than that pandering fool Newsom.
But I agree with him that SO40 is fine as it is written, just needs to be clarified to the cops on the street like Bratton says. Too bad there's only the Walter Moore brand as the alternative -- Moore himself isn't that bad but attracts a really racist following.
I'm at a loss as to why and how Walter Moore's stance should be constantly characterized by so many of the fringe elements (quixote,etc.) as "racist". He's a pragmatist. Our city has been overrun with illegals since the gang-banger mayor declared us a "sanctuary city". It's pitiful and the result is moreso. I'm grateful that a man of Moore's capacity is speaking up. His words are not so hard to hear. It's only that they're new. no one has dared to speak them. Vote Moore. Give Villar the boot.
Most of Moore's followers are the 60, 70 year old white guys who wear John Deere ball caps to community meetings and talk about their days working for Lockheed, Rocketdyne, etc. No matter what they or Walter Moore say LA is not going back lilly white.

5:41 - I know of quite a few of Moore's supporters who are in the 20-50 age group... I'm one of them - 45 years, and counting.
Deal yourself out, and cash in your chips.
The only racists here are those who know Walter is so far above the other candidates that they have no other criticism of him. Walter is of such high caliber that the others look and sound like amateurs.
can't wait to see zuma on the red carpet next year. see, at least that'll be funny, there could be a ton of hilarious moments with zuma pero as mayor.
walter wants a lily white ignorant happy days scene. he said in the debate about how great it was in 1955. sure, sugar was your friend, listerine cured the common cold, a sunburn made you "healthy" and wonder bread built strong bodies 12ways. of all the candidates, walter was in the worst shape. hernandez is way older and looks healthier. walter lives in the dark ages. he doesn't see the reality of now. he should get his red nose off the beach and look at the 21st century la. hernandez is older and he's in way better shape.
5:41pm: Who needs things to go back to lily-white? Just removing Tony would be a start to have an "accountability" message to the rest of the politicians.
Even the Republicans are cutting off the tax-pledge turncoats to save themselves from be accused of sanctioning the vote (and some probably did anyway)- but it's the voter deciding, NOT the special interests and the out-of-state dollars buying his office for him.
All it takes is for more people to get off their butts for about 5 minutes of time at the polls and remember that no meter feeding or street-sweeping enforced for a 1-block distance from the polls to accommodate voters.
Tony's earned his ouster; why would you wnat more of this? Every time he wants to pump up his resume for the Governor's race, we city residents and businesses wind up getting hit with more costs to make him look good.
Getting more MONEY throught trash fees for more cops was one of TONY'S obvious examples. What would he come up with in Term 2?
He's already deep into selling Solar Measure B that's his reward given to the IBEW among other beneficiaries- none of whom would be the ordinary rate-payer, of course.

Walter's racism or at least his lack of respect of diversity isn't his only problem.
His lack of empathy for others, his enormous ego and his poor decision making are there for starters. You can then he has no idea how City Hall works nor even how it could work and assumes were he to become Mayor he could rule by edict.
In all honesty Zuma Dogg and David Hernandez are far more experienced and qualified and maybe Jennerjahn and the others (less sure there).
Given that the Minutemen crowd is such a minor part of LA (even Hal Netkin left) its unlikely Walter will outdo Zuma or Hernandez.
Sam, you can argue this, but those candidates came to your Great Debate with all their hearts. They were eloquent, fiscal conservatives, and put out their record of service out for public review.
Walter Moore thanked them for joining this fight with a dismissive note that the media put him with them, implying that he's better than them.
Walter Moore should be so honoroed to be put with a white man who ministers to an impoverished black neighborhood, two armed service veterans, and the public advocate Zuma Dogg, who goes to work for the people for free every morning clownicl is in session.
I already have a man who doesn't care about us in city hall. Who needs to elect another?
Vote Zuma Dogg, David Hernandez, Craig X Rubin, Phil Jennerjahn, anyone but Walter Moore.

Walter Moore, get out of the sun. It's not 1952 and you look like a red face redneck. You need a neck lift. Get some Spanish lessons so the old grandmas can feel like your not going to make their first language illegal, even though they are Americans. Get a neck life, some Spanish lessons and get off the beach old man. No 20 year old supports you because no 20 year old understands your red faced tan.

Why do tony's spinners always assume negative comments on their boy are from "Walter" people?
I think all the opponents are equally tired of Tony's reign and abuse- maybe Phil, though, is the most gentle on him among those challengers I have heard.
Tony's guys (and girls/ladies, if any) are too focused on Walter Moore for the entire source of opposition.

Bank With Bailout Boost Threw Lavish Bash
A lot of people are still ticked off about the taxpayer bailout of financial companies - and here's another reason - a bank that took more than $1 billion has just thrown a bunch of big parties, sparing no expense.
The private party was lavish; the entertainment, top notch. Grammy winner, Sheryl Crow entertained while hundreds of bankers and clients dined on steak and salmon at The House of Blues on Los Angeles's glitzy Sunset Strip. The Saturday soiree capped a week of partying.
There was dinner at the Ritz while the band "Chicago" played and cocktails in Santa Monica. All were captured by celebrity Web site TMZ. And it was all paid for by Chicago-based Northern Trust Bank - three months after Northern Trust got $1.6 billion in taxpayer's bailout money and laid off hundreds of workers.
House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank said they want to hobnob with some of the celebrities. That’s fine. I have nothing against hobnobbing, but not on tax payer dollars.
Angelenos should ask Mayor Villaraigosa if he was hobnobbing with the celebrities at the Oscars on tax payer dollars.
