I certainly do approve of that message!
I will miss the State Convention in Sacramento, but I will be prepared for Sunday.
I felt that I was the big winner at Echo Park last night...even David "Zuma Dogg" Saltsburg admired some of the lines I delivered to the crowd.
With the weight of the Clear Channel mess dragging down others, this election is starting to roll my way.
Come on Conservatives! Get out there to the polls on March 3rd!

All 20 seats have been given out? Maybe a 50% show up factor. Do these candidates have more supporters than that?

I am very dissapointed that Don Quixote will not be a moderator for this debate !!!!!!
Don Quixote knows all, has done it all and knows everybody i

DAVID HERNANDEZ - finally a name on this site that has actually DONE something!
Hopefully he can clue the mystery man, billboard lover, and the pot-heads about DOING something other than talking about doing something.
Go DH!!!

Funny. In a sad kind of way. I don't think anyone of these candidates really knows what the mayor does. I'd like to hear some really good questions about how policy happens and see how much they know.
Who if any of them, know how to get things done?

Since valley doll has openly expressed her support for zuma dogg, how can you have her as moderator?
It is one thing for a moderator to have an opinion, but not when they're posting comments about the supporter on a blog.

This interview was a home run for me.

What's funny is Phil deciding not to go to the Republican convention, even though that's all he's been crowing about for weeks, what with its "endorsement" of him.
No, I forgot! His claiming that he was the big winner, and claiming ZD's admiration.
Oh, one more: his thinking that there are conservatives (with a capital "C" for some reason), reading Mayor Sam. At least ZD has some name recognition.
Zuma Dogg said:
Hey man, if you are going to post something about Phil, ZUMA DOGG wants EQUAL TIME!!!
(Just kidding.)
But I just wanted to jump in for a second to let Jim Dickhart know he has a Zuma Dogg problem and he can't talk his way out of this sh*t and his little sell-her-soul puppet can't call up and cry to Zuma Dogg to fight your battles.
Zuma Dogg is an animal and person lover...and Jim Dickhart is in violation of that.
So I think a lot more people are going to know about Jim Dickhart and how he runs his little animal services relation department and this wacked-out idea that he has regarding low-income affordable housing dwellers and his idea to have them become virtual animal shelters that will be a property owner nightmare.
Good luck spinning, Jim. I didn't know you actually did anything in the animal services department, I thought you were just the mayor's occasional personal valet.
And say hello to everyone at the DouchetonioForLA headquarters.

Given the condition of the City, it appears the Mayor does not know how policy happens either. He sure as heck does not know what his duties and responsibalities are.
He did come to the Valley more than James Hahn but that my be due to his friend who lived in Sherman Oaks. He has been to her place so many times he should have to pay dues to SOHA.

Just curious, but doesn't this timing conflict with the Academy Awards, or at least the pre-event events?
Way to plan ahead, Mayor Mega.

Fuck the Oscars - is of no benefit other some jobs for some illegal aliens to serve crappy overpriced food to mental cases like Angelina Jolie and get up the butt from the gay heads of the studios ("Hey Paco want $20? A green card? I can do that for you! Just bend over and show me that brown booty!)

Rita,
I think Zuma Dogg is the same age as Walter Moore! Give or take a year.
Michael Higby said:
And Phil ain't young either; he's in his 40s.
Michael Higby said:
2:55 - okay then!
However I don't care about the Oscars either. When movies were good it mattered. But they pretty much suck now. There are far better movies being made for television these days anyway. The Oscars are one big orgy of self aggrandizement which isn't really appropriate when we have millions of people losing jobs.
I am sure after the debate we'll head for some libations and folks can watch the ever annoying Joan Rivers (or whoever is equally annoying) ask people "who they're wearing"
Really a useless exercise in my view.

Wow oh Wow! If she's who I think she is, Jim Bickhart is under orders by Antonio's office to not associate with her. It's a big No-No. So wow again, Antonio's staff can't even keep their promises to each other.

no higby, i mentioned the oscars because that's what a lot of people will be watching (like it or not) around the time you're doing your slanted forum, with biased-beyond-bias valley dope moderating.
and before the oscars, there are loads of people at viewing parties.
it doesn't matter whether YOU like the oscars or not. it is whether people will bother to watch a debate ONLINE at the time. or will they enjoy the food & libations at their given viewing place.
you should have held your debate today, or next week. obviously, you didn't keep in mind how many people in socal DO watch the oscars, pre-shows, etc.
good luck amigo. that's like hosting a debate on super bowl sunday. in la, the oscars are the super bowl, with a lot of jobs depending on them.

Phil if the interview was a "home run" for you, by what standards are you measuring that?
-Nobody knows who you are.
-There's no way you will come out ahead of AV, WM or ZD.
-You're the only person that says your interview was a home run.
Question for you-Other than your apparent endorsement by the republican party (whose convention you are not even attending), who else has endorsed you? Any entity that anyone has ever heard of?
PS-You look like an idiot when YOU say that YOUR interview was a home run. That's for everyone else to determine.

Well, for one, I'm not the moderator... that would be Mr. Kaye. I'm merely a panelist who has been asked to put to the candidates questions posed from the public via the internet, my own questions and questions garnered from interested citizens-at-large who have written me with questions they'd like to have answered.
My support of any one candidate over another has no impact on my ability to ask a question. The onus is on the candidates to answer them to the best of their ability. I won't be wearing any campaign gear, or secretly winking at my favorite candidates during the debate.
That'll come afterwards.
Just kidding. Jeez, you people have no sense of humor.

4:17 pm -
That's fine no one said you can't watch the Oscars.
I don't think it's a problem as we've now had to turn away people who have asked for seats.
Remember this is not an "event" in that its there for you to come to. It's a broadcast and will be available for later playback. So folks can watch both at their leisure.
And besides, the debate will be over before the Oscars start.
No one who else has complained about the Oscars.
Keep thinking up things to expand your hatred of this blog; it's a good program for you!
Michael Higby said:
Valley Doll you're right.
Remember Gwen Ifill, an Obama supporter with a book coming out about Obama moderated the VP debate and did fine.
Besides the questions will be asked of ALL candidates and each candidate will have the opportunity to answer.
So it would be very tough for any panelist to give an advantage to any candidate.
Now go feed your Mayor Sam obsession on the freeway dumbass.

BTW, looks like Oscar viewership is down, average folks just don't care.
From the New York Times:
Oscar has the jitters. In 2008, the TV audience figures for the Oscar show dropped to the lowest ebb in its 80-year existence. Not even the suave Jon Stewart and a horde of expensively dressed stars could pull in the TV crowds. The average viewership over the whole three-hour show showed a drop of 20 percent on previous years.
Those 32 million US viewers looked puny against the TV sporting highlight, the Super Bowl, to which 97,5 million people tuned in. The premiere of American Idol pulled in 52 million. No wonder the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which sponsors the Oscar show, is worried.
The studios and independent producers are also concerned. If after eight decades, the biggest and most widely-known film event in the world is failing to attract its core audience to the TV show, what does that say about current status and the future of the film industry?

Fatso, you're comparing Valley Doll, your ex girlfriend, with Gwen Ifill?
You are more delusional than Eric Garcetti!
And what you're doing is by definition not a "broadcast," idiot.

zuma dogg, is the woman the same one who can also not be mentioned on this b-b-blog? how is she connected to the mayor's office?

I'm going to watch the Oscars. During the worst parts, like best pair of shoes in an animated foreign language cartoon, I'm tuning in to watch the debates. Half of the Oscars is so boring, and the commercials are so long. Thanks Higby for making this election a thing. I'll be watching.

Kick Reyes to the curb. His area is one of the dirtiest and has more shootings than almost any other area.

If the guy cheats on his wife that shows what kind of character he has.

If Wacko is shacking up the loon in his condo that shows his character is worse than AV's. At least AV had the sense to fire her and order no one on his staff have contact with her. Begging the question, what is wrong with Jim Dickhart?

Jesse Rosas is a no-go for CD 1, unfortunately, as much as we want to get rid of Reyes, once and for all.
Too many complaints about Mr. Rosas as Neighborhood Council treasurer.
DONE had to get involved. Ask around the community and check the Highland Park NC website for the report.
It's not just enough to be a challenger to an incumbent, even if it is Reyes.
You can't have the whole district fall apart and no one seems to think that Jesse has the leadership or ability including the people supporting him, even though they still have to stand by him.

Why isn't the local media covering this story? Its all about corruption in city hall with Antonio's pals. Let's hope the trial starts this week and tears into the Mayor's croonies and his corruption as well. Why are the weak candidates not mentioning any of this stuff and the Vignali letter to support a drug dealer. Can they be that afraid of Antonio?
