Lawn Sign Thief Caught on Tape

Fifth Council District candidate David Vahedi says that someone has been stealing his lawn signs - over 400 signs costing nearly $1600 - and now it appears that at least one theif has been caught on tape.  A webcam was set up near a Vahedi sign and the suspect is seen clearly removing the sign from where it's been installed.  The suspect appears to be a husky blonde caucasian female in her 30s or 40s.  Let's hope the police find her.  If you recognize this person, please contact the Vahedi campaign.

How 'bout a freeze frame and a location? Then we can put Neighborhood Watch on it.

David also leads CD-5 in the most illegally placed signs. Some speculate that the sign sealers are taking them from lawns and putting them on DWP poles. Nothing like y
You Tube, but where is the full frontal shot?

Just Vahedi's announcement alone, that he paid 4 bucks apiece, and probably $$thousands$$ overall of contributors money, for something as usless in vote-getting as lawn signs ought to disqualify him from being considered for the office. We already have enough elected officials who pay way too much for useless crap using taxpayers funds.

Wait. Did the person take the sign off someone's lawn or was it off a sidewalk?

You really can not tell from the photo.

I'll just check with the boys down at the crime lab, they've got four more detectives working on the case. They got us working in shifts!

I know! He should put up another sign that's boobie trapped! The sign will be anchored to a heavy duty spike that makes it imposible for her to easily remove it and when she tugs on the sign to try to get it out a loud car alarm will be triggered as well as a net that is hanging over her in a tree which traps her like a wild animal! I'm kidding of course. That would be great to see though. I doubt you'll be able to catch her with this tape. Too hard to see.

She seemed rather brazen about it - as if she was taking down a sign placed on her property without her permission. Can this be a case of trespassing on Vahedi's part?

I "stole" a Vahedi sign that was illegally placed in a public park. Need a little bit more info before declaring this woman a criminal! The rules are simple - please follow them - YOU CANNOT POST SIGNS ON PUBLIC PROPERTY!!!! I hope someone is planning to take down all of this crap next week after four of the candidates officially become losers.

The Times blog where you found this has a witness say that the woman was wearing a coat with buttons like last year's Anne Klein style. Look for a woman who's not on the cutting edge of fashion. And a little plump.

Seriously, this Vahedi is being pushed so heavily by one group of homeowners determined to engineer the election for him, and place their puppet in office, that he's probably ticked off a lot of people. Especially if these signs are on public property and in yards where people didn't get approval. From comments I've seen his people put signs on private property and most people just don't remove them, but putting them there is as bad as stealing them. His claiming he spent $1600 for the signs and now they're lost just sounds amateurish. Like Walter blowing his funds on funny hats and signs. How's that going, Walter?

That made me laugh and gave me a funny image in my mind.

One of those pointy birthday party type hats that says "Push 1 for English"

Are you going to come out with those hats soon Walter?

Using Kinkos in Beverly Hills to print flyers? That's not very fiscally responsible. Xeroxing flyers at Kinkos is not cost effective Walter.

Vahedi is a self-centered poser who only wants to run for public office in order to become famous. And putting his stupid signs all over the city just underlines that. I'd never vote for someone like this...and I hope most people think alike.

I recently sent mayor sam a picture I took of an illegal vahedi lawn sign I saw the morning after he told local residents at a Valley forum he would pay them $100 for every illegal lawn sign of his found around this city. I urge him to post it!

I guess Vahedi just says what needs to be said to get the people immediately in front of him to Vote for him, sounds like the status quo for past Council Members, we need to support somebody who brings a new voice and ideas for CHANGE! Not the same old speaking out of both sides of the mouth...
