Hotsheet Bits for Wednesday
CityWatch reprints DWP's shady opinion that the "Memorandum of Understanding" signed between the department and several neighborhood councils applies to discussion of the controversial proposition, Measure B. For whatever reason CityWatch doesn't credit activist Jim Alger who motivated the email. DWP didn't extend the same courtesy it's asking for which has upset many neighborhood activists.
The San Fernando Valley Business Journal reports that Fifth District Councilmember candidate Adeena Bleich received the backing of the lobbyist group sponsored by the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce.
Some say Zuma Dogg was out of control, others say he wasn't but apparently Mr. Saltsburg's commentary on the City's Rent Escrow Account Program was making Council President Eric Garcetti a little nervous and hence he ordered him removed from Chambers. Since I've seen Zuma Dogg boisterous on occasions that Garcetti ignored him so it makes one wonder what the issue was here. And according to witnesses Zuma only got animated after Garcetti shut him up.
Rick Orlov on Villaraigosa has no need to face his rivals. Best quote comes from Ken Draper, "the lack of competition is driving down the role of activists."
Mayor Villaraigosa isn't the only local Mayor to have an alleged extra-marital affair. City of Ontario officials are investigating allegations by attorney Loredana Nesci that Mayor Paul Leon arranged for a tryst at the Double Tree Hotel in Ontario with city contracted employee Diana Huizar (any relation?). Mayor Leon was quoted as saying "it hurts him to see friends who have not forgiven him."
Astroturfing here by those who wish to continue building the controversial elephant exhibit at the LA Zoo and keep poor old Billy the Elephant trapped there. Hmm, who would have an interest in doing that?
Chatter is up again that an NFL team is coming to LA and it could be the San Diego nee Los Angeles Chargers. Though we've heard it before, this time the Wasserman Media Group is involved and these guys seem to have the chops to make the impossible in sports possible. Stay tuned.
Family Guy producer Seth McFarlane decides not to accept an offer from Britney Spears to participate in a proposed bit on the show slamming his dogged rivals, South Park producers Matt Stone and Trey Parker. South Park had recently aired an episode mocking both Spears and McFarlane's show.

I love it when Zumma Dogg, Matt Dowd, Arnold, Marion, Donna and the others slow things down in city council with their colorful views.
They are not only entertaining, they say a lot of the things that some of us are not at liberty to say.
You can judge the veracity of what Zumma Dogg was talking about by the reaction that he got. I am still not voting for him for Mayor because I think he doesn't have a chance to win, but to at least force the mayor into a runoff, at which point he will have to debate.
In this respect, we all owe Zumma Dogg a debt of gratitude.

DWP is bad.
LA City Council sucks.
DOT sucks.
Everyone is corrupt.
Every office-holder is a piece of crap.
We will never lift a finger to change a thing.
Ahhhh the day in the life of Michael Higby.
How much notification did the NC's get before the DWP took up the Solar initiative? Guess what Mike, the DWP NEVER took it up so the could NOT have violated the MOU.
You're pissed because why? Oh thats right YOU don't like the measure. Would you be giving Citywatch and Alger any crap if you supported the measure? NO. By the way, the email Alger "initiated," he was asked to by several NC members, including myself because the No on B goon-squad has been running all over town giving out misinformation.
Get your head out of your ass.

Saltsburg will be in jail soon enough. He probably has no knowledge of campaign finance rules and will undoubtedly screw up his paperwork.
All candidates have a campaign treasurer who dots the "i's" and crosses the "t's" to be sure that all rules are followed.
Saltsburg is incapable of following any rule and as such is a natural to be audited and prosecuted. He might as well have a target on his back.
Well, here's the bright side:
1) He won't have to sleep in his car;
2) He won't have to beg for money for gas or coffee or food;
3) He'll get three meals a day for FREE;
4) A bunch of guys will pay a lot of attention to him, especially at night.
Keep it up, Bozo and you will find yourself right smack dab in the middle of a large, adoring mass of humanity. Thing is, lots of them wear ski caps and don't shave or bathe. You'll just be one of the guys (or, girls, depending on your self defense skills)

I noticed more and more that the city council meetings that use to be available online are only selected ones. Sorry but Zuma got crazy and started yelling and made a scene. No doubt he had to be asked to leave. I believe in what he says but a lot of people think he needs to calm down and behave more maturely because his message gets lost when he behaves like a drama queen. I would have escorted out myself the way he behaved. Calm down Zuma and get your message out by not yelling and screaming.

Steve LOpez has a huge piece on the Mayor race and goes after Vilaraigosa for not wanting to debate Walter Moore. Vote for the debate to happen. GREAT JOB STEVE.

Higby -
Don't let someone from the utterly corrupt Silver Lake NC who is also a council staffer lecture you.
Goon squad? Please that's the pot calling the kettle black!

I think its time for more grievances to be filed against SLNC.

Phil Janicehan (Candidate for Mayor) is grandstanding about the Mayor's grandstanding.
This hypocrite is perfect for elected office.

Was Zumma Dogg arrested yesterday?

I saw Zumma Dogg yesterday on Channel 35. He was not out of line when Eric cut him off. There is definitely a double standard. Watch today how Eric is bending over backward to give celebrities more than their provided speaking time. Do you think he would give Zumma Dogg the same consideration? As ZD would say, "Hell to the no!".

That is right Zuma Dogg has to account for the $25.00 he has spent so far in the race for mayor of Los Angeles. We must know that the $25.00 was properly received and spent.
Send in the FBI, NSA, CIA, DEA, and LAPD we MUST know the origins of Zuma Dogg's $25.00 war chest !!!!!!!

That was confusing, but if I understood it correctly, the elephant exhibit goes forward.
I assume Cardenas will now brig his other motion forward -- the one in which he tries for a sanctuary in the SFV. Or is this dead, too?

Eric did NOT give the celebrties extra time. In fact he was strict to the rules and neither Cher nor Lily Tomlin liked it very much. When a zookeeper said that they should stick to singing, acting or turning wheels (referring to Bob Barker) and let those who work with animals and especially at GLAZA do their thing, Tomlin got really mad and wanted to respond but Eric cut her off. And she was nowhere near as loud, obnoxious as Mr. Dogg is on a daily basis for hours and hours a week and month and year.
What's funny is how his supporters are trying to make like people are afraid of him because of what he has to say, when he's just plain ignored by an idiot and anyone who DOES give him the time of day like Zine, looks like a clown himself.
Birds of a feather... (
Listening, Higby and Mailander? Who are now calling Joe B and Brady Westwater fringe because they don't agree on Measure B and want people to adhere to the rules they agreed to if they want to be taken seriously.)

Zuma Mutt used up all of his chances, he should be outright banned. His bullshit is getting way old.

When did I say Joe B was on the fringe?

higby, don't claim you never told this to some of us on the side. please do not make someone prove it. i don't want to embarrass you. or him on that note.

1:19 pm you are simply and factually wrong. The speakers were supposed to get one minute each and only one or two shut up at one minute most ran 20-30 seconds over. Anyone can watch the archives online and see that this is simply a fact. Just like when Jackie Goldberg shows up for public comment. She gets more than two minutes. Facts.
Michael Higby said:
3:03 you're an idiot. Neither Mailander nor I said Joe is on the fringe. I didn't even know (assuming you're correct) he's supporting Measure B. If he is, it wouldn't be the first time he was wrong.
Right Joe B? :)

Wow, the whack-jobs are out in force today, eh MS?

don't go laying off your whispers about joe b on mailandler.

How did I get brought up in this?
I don't think I've ever even mentioned Measure B. For the record,
I'm against it. Next time ask me before announcing I support or oppose something.

If you look at Jackie Goldberg you can see she's been getting more for many years.

So what is our former "Senator" up to these days?

I want to know what Phil Gender-gone has ever done for this city.

Regarding yesteday (tuesday's) meeting, I blogged about it. In my opinion, Eric truly was over the line and it was flat out censorship. After he took my time, then I went out in a "blaze of glory." I was gone anyway, so I let people know about it on the way out, in the city hall rotunda (not in chambers).
Today, during public comment, I addressed the issue that I think Garcetti is on a slippery slope and is interrupting me at times when he shouldn't. Basically, will do anything to shut me up at certain times. and this REAP story was the time. And he sat there and didn't interrupt.
YES, he let Cher and Bob Barker go on longer than eveyrone else. ABSOUTLEY! It wasn't too bad, though. But he didn't cut off Cher and Bob at the buzzer like the rest of us. NO WAY!
WE CAN'T LET ERIC GARCETTI RUN ROUGHSHOT OVER THE CITY AND CENSOR SOMEONE WHEN HE DOESN'T LIKE THE DIRECTION THE COMMENT IS GOING. THE FIRST AMENDMENT AND BROWN ACT IS NOT THERE TO KEEP GARCETTI NICE AND COMFORTABLE AT ALL TIMES.
And I'll be on KNBC 11 Oclock News tonight.

Zuma Dogg if you really are what they say you are - a homeless nobody - why are they so worried about what you have to say?
Anonymous said:
Zuma I support what you do when you behave like a mature adult but people in chambers are saying you acting like a baby. If you want people to take you seriously then start behaving and dressing like an adult instead of a high school student. Continue to speak out but your message is getting lost with your antics.
Sorry but e-mails flying are supporting Eric. Community people who did support you are tired of the antics as well.
Anonymous said:
11:05am,
Bullshit! Yeah, let me dress a little nicer, and be a little nicer and then maybe they'll end the corruption and racketeering.
Yeah, emails are flying. Really, maybe subpeonas will be flying, too. Yeah, emails are flying...i think a certain little sissy is trying to spin his way out of something.
And remember, coward, it's not about MY behavior, it's about YOURS as council president!
Zuma Dogg said:
Yeah, it's the same old, "lost in the antics" spin from three years ago. Sorry, can't lean on the "antics" argument anymore. The police have pretty much cracked down on the antics. But by antics, if you mean, bitch slap council only with words...yeah, those are antics. And yeah, the message is really getting lost. If there's one thing I have learned by all the people who stop and thank me everyday, it's that the message is getting lost.
Wow, for all that expensive education, I am less and less impressed with Eric Garcetti, every day. I find him to be a sad character because he's so reactive, combative, competitive but mostly, conflicted. Somewhere along the line, someone sure did a real number on him.
You know the difference between me and Eric Garcetti: I would never drive a city vehicle drunk, hit a kid on a bicycle, then pay off the family for silence. I don't know if you can say the same about Eric.
But he sure as FUCK better not interrupt me again, unless I am in violation of the law.

Michael,
There is breaking news in the lady who had sextuplets, so KABC bumped my segment until Monday at 9:30am.
That's cool, cause they said we can do a longer segment at that time. And more people will be up then.
But overall, I gotta stop pre-promoting media segments and just post it after.
Anonymous said:
Eric better not interrupt you?
Just what is it you plan to do to him? Fire him when you become Mayor?
Seriously, man, you need some help adjusting to reality. HE IS THE MAN.
You, on the oher hand, are nothing but a court jester. Your hat should have three bells on it.
Enjoy the free rent and food.
