One of the problems with foolish activists who know little of what makes politics work in LA is that they all talk to each other and really think they know something.
Sure, there will be a "protest" vote against The Mayor, but he will draw over 60%, maybe even 70% against nine or ten guys named "Joe" in March.
And your hero, the fool of Malibu/Zuma/CD 0 will have scammed a few bucks out of his "campaign contributions" so that he has some gas for his smelly van, a little food, and lots of coffee at Starbucks.

Clowncil wants to cut public access because of the way Zuma goes off on all the bafoons and idiots around the horse shoe. Zuma should continue telling everyone what a bunch of corrupt, leaderless, non ethical, jerks council members are and how they have taken a major city like Los Angeles down the toliet because of their support for illegals. Something to consider: With no large name opponent to the Mayor and just following the Presidential election this race will be so not on the radar and turnout will be low.
What happens when the bulk of the turn-out are the NC, HOA, SLAP type folks who are tired of the Mayor, the Council, etc. and decide to vote for either Walter or Zuma? There is a scenario where the Mayor gets less than 50% and we go to a run-off.
IF by some chance Zuma got into a runoff with the Mayor there would be media coverage like you've never seen for a local race. I am not saying that the Mayor would lose because I expect the Broads, the Riordans, unions, et al will do everything possible to save him however it will be quite entertaining.
If I have to waste a vote I would rather waste it with Zuma than anyone from the Mexican Mafia. It is amazing that Zuma is not afraid to fight back. By the way Zuma, thank you for selecting CD14, the home of the Mexican Mafia, to be your political home. Go Zuma!!

The Villaraigosa recall, the Weiss recall, other ill fated adventures of Mayor Sam, Zuma Puppet and Walter are fun for you all to fantacize about, but the chances of Antonio getting less than 50% in the primary are non-existant. He would literally have to be caught with a dead girl or a live boy on tape, and he'd still poll over 50%.
There is a little difference between Zev or Rick on one hand, and Walter and Puppet Zuma on the other.
This "race", as has been stated by many, is OVER.
Move on, Higby to City Attorney and Controller, where you can get some ink.

You must not talk to people who know Richard personally, because if you did, you would know that he turned south on Antonio over the Mirthala incident (incidents) and the whole breaking up of the family affair. AND, Dick's support for Doucheariagosa has only gone downhill as the mayor's performance has. He's totally embarassed by Anotonio. The Dogg's latest rant only proves once again what a psycho he is, how unfit to serve as a waiter or dog walker, let alone in elected office.
And now that's he's on the ballot, it's illegal for him to use our taxpayer funded Ch. 35 to "campaign" and attack other candidates. Not that anyone but a few nutcases are listening, and most of the ones who signed his petition did it for a goof and have no intention of voting for this fool anyway. He's just the Court Jester who won't go away.
Let the simple minds that are amused and/or egged on by the stale bread and run-down circus likes of Zuma Beeyotch play with themselves for the next 3-4 months and waste what little political voice or muscle they have.
With no viable candidate to really oppose him (and DON'T even get me started on WACKO WALTER!), AV can "rose garden" away his campaign period and won't need to get seriously into raising money to move into the ranks of the termed-out, lame-duckers in L.A. politics starting next summer.
And, for his second term, he won't be anywhere near as beholden to the big-ticket contributors as he had to become in the first, in order to oust an incumbent. And maybe, just maybe, he can actually spend one day a week after that on REAL city issues, rather than even more time paying back those "debts" to the city's rich with favors and quid pro quoses.
That's HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of dollars he won't have to raise in campaign funds, and HUNDREDS of hours less lying campaign commercials clogging up primetime - telling us of his non-existent accomplishments, and skirting the fact that, unlike 4 years ago, he's not a warm and cuddle "Family Man" -- not the mention the THOUSANDS of puff-piece slick mailers that won't see the dark the city's mailboxes.
Under the circumstances, stuck with a do-nothing but popular mayor for an inevitable second term during a nasty recession. . . things COULD be a lot worse.
(Then again, next July 1, he DOES start his 4-year campaign for the job after that).

The only thing Zuma Saltzburg (not even Elliott, even his real name is a fake name) is certifiable for, is the loony bin.
As for his delusions that Riordan's bent out of shape about Mirthala still, Zuma Mutt's been hanging out with too many angry Latinas over there in Boyle Hts or wherever he's parking his muttmobile these days.
Riordan's own short-lived marriage to Nancy Daly (a 2nd or 3rd for both of them) recently broke up, because Riordan had not one but two mistresses on the side. So like he cares about anything other than who can get the job done. And that sure won't be Madd Dogg or Wacky Whiny Walter piggybacking on the murdered teen and seen as a racist by a lot of people. Walter is so stupid about other issues, he's even publicly sided with the billboard companies and Rocky on that issue. As for Madd Dogg's campaign, it will only force even those who dislike Antonio to vote for him, in case there IS such voter apathy that a certifiable crazy gets into a run-off.
ZD and Mayor Sam are gonna have a Holiday Party at Casa Princesa NEXT Friday December 12th at 7pm in Eagle Rock. (4527 York Blvd.)
