Is Villaraigosa Being Considered for Secretary of Labor?
Probably not but given reports that some Latinos are not happy with Hispanic representation among President-Elect Barack Obama's Cabinet picks Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa may be in the process of being looked at for Secretary of Labor.
The Washington Post lists the Mayor on a relatively distinguished short list of potential nominees to helm the Labor Department under Obama.
Also on the Post's list are current Michigan governor Jennifer Granholm and former long time Michigan Congressman David Bonoir.
Though in the end I would be surprised if the Mayor were offered and accepted the post as the Mayor of the second largest city in the US and with a long time labor organizing background Villaraigosa could be considered a qualified contender for the post. The Mayor is also serving as an "economic advisor" to the President-Elect which could help give him an inside track.

This is a joke. The Washington Post and Obama team's should read the poll numbers in the low 20's on Villaraigosa's job performance in LA. E-mail Michael Fletcher at the WA Post and let him know he doesn't have a clue because he should have included in his story that when Villaraigosa took office there was a surplus of $$$ now the city is in $400 million deficit. SEnd him the LA Weekly article stating Villaraigosa only spends 11% of his time in LA and so much more. Antonio is the stupid token Latino. Latinos are still ignorant and naive still voting for people who aren't qualified simply because they are Latino. Now LA has the worst Mayor in its history.

Tony Villar is the best Mayor ,MEXICO has
in the USA. He has "anointed " Los Angeles
once an American city but now its the Capitol of
an Illegal Mexican Nation within the borders
of the USA !!
Voter Apathy by legal citizens has allowed
this, dividing the city into 30 % illegal aliens and
criminal employers and about 30% legal citizens
who want illegal immigration to stop and
the rest who are too bothered to even vote !!!!

It's scary how unhappy the other gentlemen seem to be about being in this photo with the 11% Mayor.

Another Mayor arrested. When are they coming to Los Angeles?
.....Birmingham Mayor Larry Langford was arrested this morning on federal charges and is being held at the federal courthouse, the FBI and other federal officials confirm.

Higby I'll give you three words why this won't happen.
Mayor Zuma Dogg.
If Villaraigosa goes to DC now there is no time to put someone else on the ballot.

MAV isn't capable of doing his current job, didn't even TRY to do the one before that, and was out of work for a couple years prior to that. There's no way he should take on something national.
He's the only high profile politician in California that could make both "Ah-nold" and George W. seem like intellectuals.
Remember, his only "qualification" three years ago to become mayor was:
80 FAKE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCHES
Unless you also count the 1.4 GPA in college.
(But then, those two things -- and a mutual hatred of Jimmy Hahn -- was enough to get Higby's endorsement).

AV's more likely to make a secretary go through labor, this year, than be a Secretary OF Labor.

The other guys in the picture aren't happy because Villaraigosa's a lousy tipper.
"A measly 10 percent tip and you want me to take a PR photo with you, too?"
Michael Higby said:
If allowing anonymous comments means we get the 80 FAKE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCHES back on the blog, I'm all for it. :)
Michael Higby said:
So one wonders - considering how highly improbable this is, why would the Post even mention AV on such a short and relatively distinguished list?
Did someone at the former Capitol fishwrap of record say "Hispanics upset at Obama picks, find me a Hispanic!"

Shame on you, 11:31. Here in Altoterra Parque, we remain very hopeful that the crime prevention programs this mayor has brought to downtown, the Marina, San Pedro and the Valley will come to our own neighborhood, his home council district, very soon.

Those four waiters are more qualified for Labor Secretary than Tony Bologna.

Shouldn't the Secretary of Labor actually have a record of working? This is not so with the 11% mayor.

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen (removes hat and bows low with flourish):
What? His Has Been Nibbs as Secretary of Labour? (Raises eyebrow and points finger in a Jack Sparrow-esque fashion) Might I remind you sots that in order to actually be the Secretary of Labour, one must actually perform some sort of labour related to the job, savvy?
(Grins) Unless of course you accept the fact that labour as defined by those who would define it as 11 percent doing the actual labour that defines the job and 89 percent labouring for someone else, then the labour was in fact, if you will, in vain.
(Whispers) Me mum always says that vanity is an artful sin that only an artful soul can commit, savvy?
No, we see his Has Been Nibbs selected for a spot on some sort of Federal Commission that gives him license to leave the state and travel hither and yon, but important enough to satisfy the need to feel important.
Sots, what say you?

Higby posts some anonymous comments here everyone. Ask him to address the question of why.
That's why he shut off the anonymous comments.
Michael Higby said:
How cute! We have an anonymous poster accusing me of posting anonymously.
Okay I admit - I posted that anonymous comment to accuse myself of posting anonymously.
Seriously though if it takes being anonymous to get Captain Jack back so be it.

Yes, it's amazing how Higby suddenly allowed anonymous comments again after the rating dropped from 4 to 16.
As soon as he allowed the anonymous comments again, it returned to position #4.

Tony Villaraigosa for a place in the Obama Administration?
A variation on Henny Youngman's "Take my wife- please" is calle for:
Take my "good-for-nothing but photo-opps" Mayor, PLEASE. If you don't want him to do anything to mess up things, don't worry. He doesn't do anything, he's too busy looking pretty, but keep an eye on his aides who are the only ones who can put a sentence together and communicate anything to the outside world..
Just Take Him, he's like having one-half of nice bookends; he doesn't read the books, he just holds them up, and sometimes sits on them to reach the pedals.

Higby would like you to believe that the blog's rating improved because he ran retread "best of" clips from Zuma Drugged for Thanksgiving. Or maybe those should be called "least-worst of" clips.
But then, Higby, as Mayor Sam, also vouched for Captain Faker's vouching for Tony Villar's
80 FAKE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCHES
. . . four years ago.
Look it up. He said he'd seen "proof" but that the "80 FAKES" couldn't actually be LISTED anywhere - including at Hollenbeck division CPAB - because they might get KILT by gangbangers.
Q. Who ya gonna believe??
A. ANYBODY else.

Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen (tips hat):
We are an anonymous 7 that sails with a fleet of four. We've 5 who know our faces and know the faces of several more. We hide in a cloak of unknowning and anchor in water that's deep. For we are the pirates of all that is hidden and what treasure we find we keep. So here, if you will, is our advice to you sots who would rather be boisterous and brash. You never know when there's a pirate about...so be careful what you put in your trash. And if by some chance you should find yourself alone and crying in your beer, be certain that you are indeed alone in your cups and that Jack Sparrow's not near to hear. For when you wake up and realize your secrets and sins that you confessed while you drank have made it onto a blog page somewhere....you'll have the pirates and Jack Sparrow to thank. Savvy?
(Looks around carefully and smiles) There's some midnight oil that is burning in a certain window. Give it a few days and then see who has clocked out late and who has stayed up to greet the dawn.

WHat dumb ass keeps posting about anon blogging? WE all know that if you say anything negative about the Latino Mafioso’s politicans like Antonio, Huizar, Cardenas, Reyes, Alarcon, Padilla, Fruentes and the rest of the goons you will be personally attacked and threatened. Ask anyone who goes against them in the district they are in. These are the most corrupt Latinos in the city and give Latinos a bad name. IF David Z did his homework as he always does there's a ton of corrupt shit going on in each district. I'll start with the Wyvenwood bullshit in CD14.

'Wyvenwood bullshit in CD14."
The Wyvenwood Bullshit started almost three years ago and Huizar and Villriagosa are still making money on that one.
