Rally Against H8 in Long Beach

As I get in reports on protests against Prop 8 I will pass them on but here is one for this evening. Over the weekend I'll work up a gadget at straightsagainsthate that can post up protests as they are posted on the net. There are more events planned over the weekend.

Long Beach, California: Friday, November 7, 2008, 6:45pm - 9:00pm, Broadway and Redondo. "We will march from Redondo to Alamitos (Hamburger Mary's), to tell Californians, the nation and the world that we are not second class citizens and we will not accept being treated that way."

You're a hypocrite to post ex post facto hatred against Caruso, the blacks of Los Angeles, for instants, and encourage people to go to something like this.

My friend LaRue says that same thing about you.

I'd like to add something if you don't mind, but that's how I discovered this blog. There is a hope and trust that we put in the information here, and there is a good deal of concern about the man's accuracy.

Is Higby the same person as Mayor Sam? What does that mean if so or what is the case with that?

I am concerned too. I don't go as far as saying that he lied to us, but it I do feel he misrepresented things to us.

Lied to you about what?

Yeah - lied to you about WHAT exactly?

My guess,

2:27 is Don Quackers.

2:34 needs their mommie to spoon-feed them information.

You said that you had it from two high level sources that Rick Caruso was going to run for Mayor. You even hinted that one of them had a moustache, so you teased the fact that you were in touch with people who really knew what was going to happen. Or you said that he would be endorsed by two major people. You know what I mean!

Then it just didn't happen. And I did not say you lied. I said very specifically that you should not be called a liar. But it was incorrect information. Or you should not have hinted at something so frivolous. Well that is the feeling among some of us who are new to your blog.

Who is Higby and who is Mayor Sam. Also, what or who is Mayor Frank? I haven't read anything from him yet!

I was absolutely sick about the passage of Prop 8... ashamed of my state.

Seeing the mainly peaceful protests has made me proud once again.

Straight Against H8: 'SEPARATE BUT EQUAL' was found unconstitutional a half century ago, paving the way for the end of segregation.

Have we all forgotten so soon?

After vowing to protest outside the Mormon Temple in WLA until Prop 8 was overturned, nobody was outside the temple today. In fact, the main gate was fully open to anyone unguarded. So much for that. That's how all the other protests will go in the next few days.

As I live by the temple, overheard on my police scanner was high five's by the LAPD that they were getting so much overtime. They want the protests to continue so they can rake it in. ANY protest organization should PAY for the police if they call a protest in our economy.

CD7,

Why would you want to taunt someone young like Amy who is participating in the process???

I wish more college kids would participate in these conversations on poitical blogs than whatever else kids do.

Thanks for treating her like crap.

I support all my gay friends and voted with them. However, now they're really pissing me off because their message is getting lost because they're acting like the illegals protesting in the streets without a legal permit and acting up and behaving badly. I've heard so many people who support get angry this week at them. You don't break the law because you didn't get your way. You organize and then get your message across. This protesting as reporters are stating is not doing them any good.

Good point. That's what they said about the protesters in the 60's.

Are you retarded? It's usually the poorest segments of our population that resort to protest. So what you really want is a seemingly justifiable path around the 1st Amendment. Money has too much influence over politics as it is.

... I bet you're against net neutrality too. You sound like a conservative elitist to me. I'm going to guess that you voted for McCain because you liked Dubya.

Yeah, we need your kind here like we needed Haikula.
