A Moment of Silence Please!

On Friday, November 14, 2008 at 2:00pm, Los Angeles High School Football Team had their homecoming game. Once again, they did not take a moment of silence to honor my son during any game this season! All the other schools honored, Jamiel A. Shaw, "Jas", before the game. Even my high school Banning High, honored my precious baby!

We later found out by a reliable source, that Mr. Jenssen (the Vice Principal), refused to have a moment of silence before the game, in remembrance of Jas. We also learned that Mr. Jenssen was suppose to represent Los Angeles High School at my sons funeral service. However, he did not attend. Although, the school later had a memorial service for the students.

Can anyone explain to me why a student on the football team for three years, cannot get a moment of silence during one of their home games?

sessesterSergeant, maybe it is because a "moment of silence" is too much like a prayer, and the ACLU sure wouldn't like that.

As a graduate of LA High (in the 50's)I can tell you that under Harry Edelson, our then coach, Jas would have had a moment of silence each and every game this season.

Thanks again to the ACLU and all who support its insideous agenda.

I pray for America and for your son.

When something doesn't make sense it means there must be more to the story. It seems like somebody needs to corner Mr. Jenssen and ask him why, or the Principal. Somebody should come up with an answer. How hard could it be for them to do a momoment of silence for goodness sake! There has to be more to it. Sorry for your loss.

as a 1968 grad of LA High we were of the determination era and would have gave silence regardless of a Mr. Janssen. We cared about each other because our leadership in school and home demostrated that to us during that time. it is leadership such as this buthole and parents too that create a lot of the situations that we are talking about right now
