Bachmann the McCarthyite?!?!
Candidate for modern-day Joe McCarthy, Rep. Michelle Bachmann, spewed her "anti-American" venom on Hardball yesterday. Below is the clip. Decide for yourself if she has--to use a phrase popularized during the Red Scare--"any sense of decency." Maybe she can head up a new House Committee on Un-American Activities if the "mavericks" are successful in November.
Just once in a while let us exalt the importance of ideas and information. - Edward R. Murrow

While inlcuding her in its list of the 10 worst members of Congress, Esquire magazine had this to say about her:
One gets the impression that if, in the name of "traditional values," Bachmann could rescind the vote for women, she would. Her vacant, wild eyes recall a doomsday prophet, or one of Charlie Manson's girls. Equal parts religious hack and party hack, she's got spunk and not much else.

Either the Democrats paid her to say that or she's a biggest attention whore than Zoomba Dog.

I am very worried about John McCain's association with Michele Bachmann.

I've got your un-American right here!
Todd Palin was regisitered with the Alaskan Independence Party from 1995 to 2002. Sarah appeared at their convention and encouraged them to keep up the good work.
The party quotes its founder, Joe Vogler, sas saying "I'm an Alaskan, not an American. I've got no use for America or her damned institutions
In a 1991 interview currently housed at the Oral History Program in the Rasmuson Library at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, Vogler is recorded as saying "The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government. And I won't be buried under their damn flag. I'll be buried in Dawson."
If the Bill Ayers-Barak Obama connection concerns you, this one must scare the pants off you.
Then it gets wierd.
Vogler disappeared under suspicious circumstances in May 1993, just weeks before he was scheduled to give a speech to the United Nations on Alaskan independence, sponsored by the government of Iran.

6:45, if you're that tired, leave and create your own blog.
Edward, does Bachmann drink to excess just as the late Joseph McCarthy did? If she does, she needs to sober up!

Isn't it possible that the poster works for a living and doesn't have the time or money to create their own blog; enjoys some of the postings but not all; and believes that this blog has the largest audience of people who share his/her issues of concern?
This country was founded on the belief that it could be a place where dissent was not only tolerated but encouraged.

BTW Ed,
Nice to see you posting again.
Hope the "business of spin" is doing well for you.

9:51, you could always create your own blog in stages, and then upload it. Who knows, you might just knock off the top ten blogs - just as Michael Higby has done in four short years.
As for working for a living, what's the matter? Do you think you're the only one who does?

I happen to believe that most of America is anti-American right now. Most certainly, college age kids should be anti American. The question is why.
BUSH is the answer. Is it American to leave them with our debt? Is it American to take over a country to force your own beliefs on them? Oh snap, it is. Remember the native Americans before we illegal aliens came and killed them and then confined them to a square mile of land in a few states. Is it American to bail out billionaires and leave poor people to pay for the mess?
I guess we'll see on election day.

Tempers and passions are running high right now so it's easy to get upset over a comment or words exchanged. It's like being at a World Series and you're one of the folks wearing your team's uniform and the face paint. And I'm probably not the only one with a cable news addiction that has "spoken" back at the TV (i.e. John Fund on Real Time, etc.).
That said, I thought Rep. Bachmann went way over the line in her Hardball appearance--especially for someone holding elected office.
Anon. - loved the Palin website. Funny. :)
MF - If she did drink as much as McCarthy, perhaps she could then blame her addiction and enter rehab. As I saw it, she looked sober, if not deliberate. No excuses.
RSCD14 - Thanks.
