"The Not Ready for Prime Time Mayor, Villaraigosa"
With the caravan of local politicos leaving Spring Street for "Demfest in Denver", one may wonder what role will Mayor Villaraigosa play in the coronation of the "Presumptive Teleprompter President", Barack Obama.That answer according to LA Weekly reporter Patrick Range McDonald is "little" and "no face time in prime time".
Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, according to the LA Times, may be the "Latino point man" for Barack Obama's presidential campaign, but when he arrives in Denver late this week for the Democratic National Convention, he will not have a prominent TV slot as a speaker.
According to the most recent "calendar of events" for the California Democratic Party, Villaraigosa will have to settle for attending delegation breakfasts and caucus meetings just like the rest of the Golden State's politicians, with no scheduled face time on CNN, Fox News, ABC, CBS, and all of the other TV networks.
Instead, Colorado senator Ken Salazar--who, by the way, had a major beef with fundamentalist Christian leader Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family (Salazar publicly called Dobson the "anti-Christ" a few years ago, but then apologized for the remark), and may make things a little weird for Obama since he's trying to win over God fearing voters--and New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson will take up the Latino reach out effort and address a national audience.
Villaraigosa will be, however, a "featured" guest at a Thursday, August 28, breakfast honoring California mayors. Another mayor taking a few bows at the event will be Gavin Newsom of San Francisco, Villaraigosa's possible rival for a run for governor in 2010. It should make for a morning of heavy politics in Denver.
Letting this sink in, the Latino mayor of America's second largest city will be denied the usage of the teleprompter in prime time at his political party's convention? Shocking for some, surprise for most, I think not.........

FINALLY HIS KARMA. ITS ABOUT TIME!!! AT LEAST LOS ANGELES WON'T BE EMBARRASSED BY HIM.
Once again he is out of town when he should be here running his city that is in "financial crisis". Isn't that why we were supposed to vote for Prop S? Who is in charge of the city these days? Didn't he just have a vacation? Seriously. If he and most of the city council are in Denver who's in charge here?

In a way, I'm disappointed because Villar is the kiss of death for any politician... and I would really enjoy the spectator sport called 'Watching Villar Make An Ass Out of Himself"!
Villar is King of the Illegal Aliens...and that's it! He was too stupid to realize that he was just being used to sign up all the illegals in L.A. for Hillary...and now Obama! You don't have to be a mental giant to get out the illegal alien voter fraud vote!

Why is this a surprise? Who was he was he working for early on? Hillary or Obama? Enough said.

Reyes, Cardenas, Alarcon. Lots of these people are susceptible for unseating. It's not just Villaraigosa. It will take just a few thousand votes to get any one of them out.

I'm not surprised by his "unslotting." His bad breath alone would be enough to cause the DNC to evacuate the auditorium and pick up the newly dead who were killed off by one whiff of his breath.
Did the teleprompter have the "uhs" printed on what he was supposed to say?
Mayor V. will, however, be very busy next week in Denver:
- Cleaning toilets at the convention center, and
- Organizing 80 FAKE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCHES in the surrounding communities.
A man should always play to his strengths.
I didn't know that others besides me realized that Antonio has foul bad breath!
