Do you think the hurricane is the real reason, or is McCain trying to distance himself from George Bush and Dick Cheney.

Anybody who has any hopes of being elected President wouldn't want George Bush with 500ft of him.

Maybe McCain can seek a restraining order against Bush and Cheney?

I think that it proves that Michael Moore is wrong, that God indeed favors John McCain, by coming up with a way to keep Bush and Cheney away from the convention.

Everything happens for the better. This solves the problem of how to keep the president and VP away from the convention.

That's quite a comment on the Republican Party isn't it?

In a McCain campaign and administration, what will happen to those Bush-Cheney insiders who created this mess? Will they still be there pulling the strings?

i agree with Higby...completely! Michael Moore was WRONG...it's McCain who could hardly wait to tear up the playbill for the Convention! He's probably still on his hands and knees thanking God for divine intervention!

Does anyone think for one second that if this had been the DEM Convention scheduled for tomorrow...that it would have been cancelled???

Come hell or high water or Hurricaine Gustav...those DEMS would have held their convention as scheduled!

I hope McCain doesn't show up either...I think they can nominate him via satellite. The ONLY person I want to see is SARAH!!! Go SARAH! Let her run the show!

PS: I'll bet Gustav peters out by 3:00 a.m. No way is it going to be another Katrina! The levees have been repaired, haven't they??? The FLOOD was the problem with Katrina...not the hurricaine!
