This is the city: Los Angeles, California. I work here. I'm an ex-mayor. Los Angeles is a magnet for people from all over the world. Some of them run for public office. Inevitably some of them stray from the golden rule and rule for those that have the gold. That's when I go to work. My name is Yorty. I'm a dead pol.

Artsy post AW! Almost nostalgic if one squints. Those vibrant colors came exclusively from various blossoms that burst in our area how many yrs ago? Granted the sunsets coupled with differing air particulates from the fires still exude these vibrant hues nowadays. But it's nice to realize that we can enjoy the artsy display yr. round thanks to the spray paint industry AND some pretty visionary individuals. But then I'm old and remain an optimist.

One way to shorten the dog and pony show on Fridays in City Council would be to not let the council blowhards (Alarcon, Rosendahl and LaBong) congratulate the council person who is honoring someone. I've noticed that these three have the audacity to congratulate certain councilmembers for "providing leadership" in honoring certain groups. What an egotistical bunch! Even when honoring someone who probably deserves it, they train and turn it into their own political gain.
