The 70s at 7
Sigmund and the Sea Monsters was a children's television series that ran from 1973 to 1975. The show was a Sid and Marty Krofft production and was shown on Saturday mornings. There were 29 episodes spanning two seasons.
Its basic premise was that Sigmund (Billy Barty), a friendly (if somewhat cowardly) sea monster who runs away from his comically dysfunctional undersea family, is discovered and befriended by brothers Johnny (Johnny Whitaker) and Scott Stuart (Scott Kolden), who let Sigmund stay in their hideout.

Johnny's younger brother Billy is the same age I am (we are), and we went to elementary and high school together. I had the biggest crush on Billy in the 4th grade. He and I were on our H.S. 20th Reunion committee and he is still as cute, adorable and funny as he was in the 4th grade! Me-ow!

When I was at Pacoima Junior High, Mr. Whittaker taught "World of Production" which was one of those shop classes everyone had to take back in the day when they hadn't decided everyone had to go to college.
I had been told that Mr. Whittaker was the father of the "boy from Family Affair" and so I asked him. His reply "Yea, that's Johnnie." Later I read that Johnnie Whittaker's dad was indeed a teacher.

...and there were a million of those Whittaker kids running around; Johnnie, Mary, Bill, Dora and I think there may have been another sister thrown in there, but I can't remember. Dora was the spitting image of Johnnie--with pigtails.
