HELLO MR. MAYOR WESSON, such gall or not??

Some may not remember but he was once a Speaker in Sacramento.

With his gregarious demeanor and his lo-profile since being elected to City Council, Herb Wesson has kick ambition into overdrive thinking about his "view" at City Hall in the years ahead.

One can draw comparisons to the "Chicklet" expressions that "Tony" has grace this city with in his teneer as an "SPEEDBUMP COUNCILMAN" and as the Mayor of the nation's second largest city.
Yet those "CHICKLETS" have done nothing to counter negative thoughts about the direction that the "City of Angels" is proceeding with.
Plus Councilman Wesson can relate to a demographic that has become the "speed bump" in the way of expanding the growth of the Latino political base.
Your opinions......

You arem't stupid enough to think he'd take on Antonio, are you?

Herb isn't.

He'll run after he is Council President and Antonio is termed out.

I thought Herb's master plan was County Supervisor?

He claimed he could have won if he'd run for Supe now, but wnts to finish out his term since he'll have almost no opposition. But Mayor now? No way, the guy's most famous moments come as a pet adoption specialist.

There is one very important thing Wesson has done which has flown pretty much under most of the city's radar.

His Midnight Hoops basketball games. While Mayor Villar has hired the do nothing Gang Czar, Cardenas crys for the cameras, Hahn wants to raise taxes for gangs, Rosendahl sits on the sidelines professing the same,Wesson has set the example.

Has set an example by actually being involved at all of these activities to keep the youth off the street. I guarantee his example and personel involvement has stopped incident which may have occured.

Saves public safety dollars, educates & saves lives.

Thats a leader.
And No, I'm not a staffer, I've just seen the results.

Anybody for mayor as long as it isn't another illegal alien pandering mayor.

Go, Herb Wesson.

Keep those youth off the streets.

... and if there's time, maybe besides having them play basketball, think about some ways to have more of them spending more of their time IN SCHOOL, or maybe learning to use the libraries.

Maybe education in whatever way is possible would be a good idea. But to do that, reading skills have to be present.

Work on having the young people of the city become more literate- if they are going to continue to drop out of school, maybe they should at least be able to READ on their own.

Wesson is invisible. He has no base support in the Valley, Westside, and, anywhere else in the City. When you hybernate in the Council chambers, sometimes the cave you're in gets covered up and you disappear.

Of course he is not talking about running against Antonio.... With the passage of Measure R, he can stay at City Hall for three terms (plus the carryover of Ludlow's term) and then run for mayor when the office is open, when there is no incumbent.

He is a good politician. Someone not to be taken lightly....

1:21 You are correct, but, first he must have their attention. And I believe doing what he is doing, gets it.

Now he must take it to step two and make sure schooling AND job training is available.

The only thing possibly worse than Tony Villar is Eric Garcetti.

Yaroslavsky & Garcetti would both finish the job of screwing up the city where Villar left off.

9:49 am, Amen.

Can you imagine the present leadership he gives to the City Council inserted into the office of Mayor?

Not an encouraging picture.

IN CD 14- (well, maybe there IS a worse choice for mayor.)

Nobody knew Barack Obama either when the election started, either. (Not to make ANY comparison other than lack of recognition! But, I did hear Herb give THE B-E-S-T campaign speech I E-V-E-R heard for John Edwards. And it doesn't matter that Edwards lost. It matters that Herb gave the best campaign speech I ever heard.)

And as much as I think Garcetti is Garshady, you don't want to put Loserosa in a debate on camera next to Eric. If the mayor had a decent image/reputation anymore, I would say Eric would have no chance...but THESE DAYS...I think Eric would crush him, perceptually. But I'm not factoring in whether Eric could pull all the "backing" away from Anlosero.

(You can spin how popular the mayor is all you want with bogus research stats. The mayor's support and popularity ain't what it used to be. He's like a child actor who is a couple years past the "cute" phase.)
