Barack didn't have Union but had the voice of the people.

Look at what happened to him.

The voice is louder than political paybacks.

Is that John Perez or Larry David's manager, Jeff?

I don't think this district is ready for an openly gay man - they are already tired of Fabian screwing them up the ass.

I thought gay men were suppose to be hot!

Is that what Villar would look like with a 400lbs problem.

John Perez is one of the brightest guys in town, and he'd make a great assemblymember. You can't help who your relatives are.

If he is one of the brightest guys in town, then why is he involved with labor. I thought only dumb shits like Antonio, Maria Elena and Gil ended up in Labor, after failing at everything else - starting with their bar exams.

Say what you want against John, and people will say a lot. You've got to give him credit for standing up to Miguel Contreras and his reign of stupidity. He stood up to Miguel even while his cousin was out kissing his ass.

JOHN HAS NO SENSE AT ALL.

What's wrong with labor? And why "dumbshits"?
The Multi National Corporation's haven't shown shit in the last 8 years except greed, stupidity and disloyalty to the USA.

There's nothing wrong with labor. That is why the AFL-CIO has split. That is why there are record number of Americans working in union jobs - ha, ha. That is why Labor has taken a back seat to virtually every other special interest out there - Fabian came from labor and he chose Indian casinos instead of his "brothers."

Labor is but a shadow of what it was in the 50's, 60' and 70's. And I grew up in a Teamster household and enjoyed the benefits won by a strong labor movement.

What is Labor today - Gil Cedillo using Local credit cards for whore houses, Martin Ludlow scapegoating uneducated labor leaders, Maria Durazo holding secondary strikes that drastically backfire (Belmont), Villaraigosa selling out to the highest bidder despite all his labor rhetoric -- al these individuals backed into labor after their law ambitions were broadsided by a strong dose of reality.

Dumbshits have led Labor to were it currently stands but all labor leaders do is blame Reagan, the ony President ever diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

That is what is wrong with labor, that is whatis wrong with John Perez.

So you benefit from all that labor has given you- coming from a Teamster household- but you are quick to bite the hand that feeds you. There is a word for that: hypocrite! I admit labor does have its fair share of problems. For example, Labor spends much of our time electing people who claim be on our side rather than electing people who have come from our ranks. John is someone who actually came from our ranks. In the process he helped people who want nothing more than to feed their families. Trying to help people reach the american dream is hardly unamerican.

How is criticizing Labor being hypocritical. I acknowledge the benefits Labor has bestowed upon my family and I. But I don't follow blind faith. I point out that this type of labor movement no longer exists. Labor has a serious problem with annointed leaders -like John Perez. John doesn't know what it means to "feed" a family - he doesn't have one.

You are right, Labor does spend a lot of time trying to elect people who claim to be on our side and not from the ranks. John hardly qualifies as coming from "our ranks." He has never held a union job in his life - never gotten his hands dirty. He has just sat on his big fat ass in the office while others do the work - I have witnessed this first hand as a former, disillusioned union shop steward for the same union John currently works on.

The UFCW strike a couple of years back was a fiasco, and John was one of the major strategists. This strike was ill conceived, poorly managed, and according to John, was going to be rescued by the politicals - i.e. his cousin.

If this event is any indication of his mindset and smarts, he has no chance in hell in this election.

I suppose John Perez is counting on the labor union endorsement, along with good ole' primo's endorsement, to win the assembly seat. However, didn't many people lose their jobs and/or were replaced during the supermarket strike??? oh yeah, and john perez moved into the district to run for office.
He might have worked for the union.....in orange county not l.a. he has no clue about the community except for what primo(cousin) tells him.
