We Did It! One Million Hits!

Thank you to everyone - Chief Parker, Mayor Frank, Jennifer Solis, Tofu Girl, Betts Yorty, Jim Alger, Councilman John and especially our current crew - Walter, Zuma, Joe M., Red Spot, Antonio Watch, Joe B., SS Sam Taylor and Numan!

Thank you SOO much to all the elected officials who provide us with such daily entertainment and fodder for the blog. There are so many of them but we especially want to thank Bitter Bernie, Wacko Jacko Weiss, Sleeping Greig Smith, Rocktard Delgadillo, Bachelor Nanny Lloyd Levine and the rest. Special props to the Hahns! We could not have got rolling without you.

A very special thanks to all the bloggers who have supported us one way or another - especially our "Godfather" Joseph Mailander. Foothill Cities, Flap, Boi from Troy, Mack Read, Zach Behrens, LA City Nerd (same guy?), Video Louis and even the WWG and David Markland - thank you! Also props to the Bear Flag League as well.

And we have to thank those in the print and electronic media who have given us SO much support and press - Doug McIntyre, Kevin James, Mr. K., Jon Regardie, David Z. and Rick Orlov.

Thanks to local information operative type folks like Edward Headington, Ms. Hammond at LA County, Bitter Bernie, Jr., Alex Traverso, Ace Smith and many others who recognized the value of sending their press releases and information to us even when we made fun of them.

Thanks to the elected's spinners too who come in through the back door. You know who you are and so do we. Thanks for keeping us busy.

I don't know where to put him, so thanks to Stuart Waldman for your support over the years.

Most importantly big props to our readers especially regulars like Captain Jack, Archie Bunker, Halogirl, Sacramento Nighties, Parque Esqueleto and all of you we may never know.

I am sure I am leaving someone out so please accept my apologies in advance.

But finally there is one person who without we could not be having the success we have been having and thanks to his very action today - got us to one million hits in time for the Fourth of July - Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. You don't know how happy you've been making me lately. Keep doing what you're doing.

On to two million! Blog away dum dums! (Oh and keep commenting on the Mayor V and Red Spot stories below)

You see, Villaraigosa machine is an illusion, that's all. You idiots bought into the propaganda. Wake up, better late than never. People, people. Be strong. Be a leader. Rise up.

If someone would have just answered the question, or demanded an answer, way back when:

What 80 FAKE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCHES?

Then where would we be?

MAYOR SAM,

All I can say is...

(Tom Labong Stadium Voice): Today...is TRULY, a GREAT DAY FOR THE CITY OF LOS ANELES!!!

One million hits on the day that the whole City is mentioning "a" blog...YOURS!

Bro, what can I say...thank you SO much for allowing me to join the ranks of Mayor Sam's Sister City.

Maaaaaaaaaan, when I started reading your blog, I knew 0.00%. (I KNOW, I KNOW...I still know 0.00%.) Besides what I read here (and I was a reader, before a contributor), I sure did meet a lot of people from this blog, too.

Dude...you took the same blogspot template as anyone else, and turned it into an actual entity.

Man, are the rest of us losers.

And hoody hoo to the team of fellow Mayor Sam bloggers who I run to read first thing each day, so I know what's REALLY going on in the City of Los Aneles.

Is Walter still part of the "current crew?" Since he recently deleted his most recent posts, I thought he had decided to part ways.

Maybe politicians shouldn't be bloggers. Walter had a blog at mooreisbetter.com, and after awhile he decided to shut off the comments. Here at Mayor Sam, he shut off the comments then deleted his posts altogether. A politician like Moore isn't interested in feedback from the public, so why engage them in conversation?

Godfather? A million hits? Well, I guess we've come a long way from back in the day when we were kids on the street, running the El Sereno racket, peddling protection to those 80 FAKE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCHES®.

Congratulations and let's have a nice Sicilian pizza sometime to celebrate.
