Levine Response to Waldman Endorsement Withdrawl
Last week we covered the news of 40th District Assemblyman Lloyd "The Bachelor" Levine unceremoniously pulling his endorsement from his former Chief of Staff - Stuart Waldman - to take over his role when Levine is termed out.

We've speculated that Levine pulled Waldman's endorsement as part of an alleged deal between his father - political consultant Larry Levine - and Congressman Howard Berman to garner Berman's support for the younger Levine's bid for the State Senate in exchange for the Levines supporting a Berman associate to assume Levine's Assembly seat.
Here is the response from Lloyd Levine. If you feel like taking action, feel free to send an email to The Bachelor. You can also attend one of Stuart Waldman's campaign events or donate to his cause.
From: Lloyd Levine Sent: Friday, June 01, 2007 3:26 PM Subject: Statement on Stuart Waldman's departure from my office
In the last few days I have received several phone calls from friends asking about the circumstances under which Stuart Waldman left my district office staff. I know others have been discussing this subject and wondering what happened. As you are aware this is a personnel matter and I am prohibited from discussing the reasons for what happened and the circumstances around it. The facts are that Stuart's employment on my staff ended early in May and later in the month I withdrew my endorsement of him for the State Assembly. The law and common courtesy dictate that I say nothing more about it.
However, I can assure you that I am the same person today who many of you have supported in my previous campaigns and who has been there with support for every Democratic club and community organization through the last several years. I continue to share many of the same values and goals that you have, and I will continue to work hard towards those ends. My relationship with the democratic activists, civic organizations and community leaders has been warm, strong and mutually supportive. I intend to continue to nurture those relationships. So, no matter what you may hear in the rumor mill, I hope you will remember there always is more than one side to every story.
Respectfully,
Lloyd Levine
Assemblymember, 40th district

Huh? Waddidhesay?
Is this guy kidding? His daddy musta wrote that piece of spin; I am dizzy.

Lloyd's proving once and for all that he's a snake in the grass.
Stuart served "at will," so there's nothing to stop Lloyd from saying why he fired him.
He just doesn't want to tell the truth: Lloyd is way behind Fran Pavley in his daddy's polls, and this is a desperation deal.
Stuart served for 12 years, and probably did a better job as COS than Lloyd ever did as Assemblyman.
This is like watching a Little Leaguer explain why his daddy-the-coach made him the starting pitcher.

Lloyd is a stand up guy who has done much for elephants and light bulbs.
That's why we at The Elephant Coalition have banded together to support his Senate run.
Please come to our special Dung & Hay Fundraiser this Thursday to meet the candidate!
Free drinks from the water hose!

Why say anything at all?
This is akin to getting up in front of a high school assembly only to pick your nose.

My father used to say:
"it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and confirm the fact beyond all possible doubt."
Too bad Lloyd didn't know my dad, he would be better off.

...and when my dad tells me what side that is, I'll let you know!

Textbook says that Stuart probably should have said nothing but then again the crowd is so incestous he had to respond.
Even though textbook says one thing, that my prediction is this will soon backfire on Lloyd. Even for those who do not like Stuart are not going to want to get too close to Lloyd as he has long ago developed a reputation of being a lightweight you can't trust. The guy has an ego bigger than Villaraigosa (if that were even within the realm of possibility). No one wants to be the next person to be thrown under bus by Lloyd and his Daddy Dr. Evil. (Lloyd = Scott Evil).
On other hand, Fran is well liked by the activists. Tie Lloyd to H Berman in district and she can make him pro-war. Same thing with Bob in AD40 with Berman.
Bob Hertzberg will not leave Stuart unless reason Stuart was fired was real bad like he stole or he raped someone like that. We know the reason Lloyd fire him is because he made deal with Bermans. His excuse is maybe Stuart fucked up somewhere and was campaigning at work. Big fuckin deal no one will hold that against him everyone does it. So no reason for Herzy to get off Stuart bus. Bob don't need to make deal with berman to be city attorney and there is connection between Levines and HErtzberg anyway.
Now Jack Weiss mortally wounded so will probably drop out of city attorney race, Bob get Antonio and he do not need Berman anyway. So Bob will stick with Stuey.
Stuey will win, Levine will look like big time fool what you say?

why does Lloyd Levine have an active Legal Defense fund?

(sorry had to hit return between lines - cut and paste to view this page on the Sec of state's homepage)

Legal defense fund?
Wow.
Can't get the link to work, even with repeated cut-and-paste.
Please use tinyurl.com?
Anonymous said:
Sorry - not smart enough to do that!
go to www.ss.ca.gov, then click on campaign & lobbying information, then type 1283787 into the search box in the left column. Then when the search results come up (just one result actualy), click on the name of it, Legal Defense Fund Committee, and you will see that this is one of several of Lloyd's committees.
Why would he have a legal defense fund?

In honor of Paul McCartney's new album now available at every Starbucks...
Sung to the Beatles tune:
"She Loves You (Yeah, Yeah, Yeah)"
You think Stu did his job?
Well I fired him yester-day-ee-yay
He acted like a slob
Only worked on his cam-pay-ee-aign
And so I fired Stu
Didn't think it'd get this bad
I fired Stu
So Berman would be glad (oooh!)
I fired Stu (waaah, waaah, waaah)
Why did I fire Stu? (waaah, waaah, waaah)
And now I wish,
I'd really fired my dad...

Here's the link for the Lloyd "I Am Not A Crook" Levine's defense fund:

His biggest donor? AT&T
There's gotta be something more to this...
Ideas, anyone?

Hmmm...
So you're saying AT&T wanted Wildman fired in October 2006...?
And now they're offering high speed internet, home phone and wireless all for one low price...
Interesting.

Stuart has been busy blogging about himself and trashing his boss all day with no job and all.
Levine is BOUND BY LAW which prohibits him from discussing why Waldman was let go but the inside scoop is that Stuart was campaigning from his state office on the taxpayers dime.
A big no no.
Anonymous said:
Hmmm...
So, you're saying that Wildcard did something illegal and Levine fired him because AT&T now offers high speed internet, home phone, wireless and legal defense all for one low price...?
Yes, it's finally starting to make sense...

no way is hertzberg staying with Stu. Let me see, what does stu get you. No money cause he does not work out and get out there and press the flesh with the big machers. No help from berman for whatever fat ass bob wants to get himself involved in to eek out a living as a shitbag lawyer at mayer brown. hertzberg is going to endorse blumenfeld. at least stu has that shmuck katz who could not even win over alarcon.

Stuart got sold out by Shallman.

1. Mayor Sam doesn't need to shill for Waldman. There are other worthy candidates in this race. Even if Berman is strong-arming everybody, Bob's not a bad guy. Not qualified, but not a bad guy.
2. Stuart wasn't paying admission to events like at least two of the other candidates. He was there "representing" Lloyd on OUR DIME. Maybe some people don't think that's a big deal. Some of us do.
3. Your dad didn't originate "remain silent and thought a fool" quote. That was Abraham Lincoln
Anonymous said:
Does (2.) mean that Levine's office paid admission for an event and Stuart showed up and campaigned?
Or that Levine was an invited guest, Stuart went in his place and ended up campaigning?
Anonymous said:
At the end of it all, Stuart did raise his profile on a statewide basis, but it was all negative.
Why he pushed the self-destruct button is anybody's guess.
Lloyd never should have taken the Stuart bait, but he did -- another negative. Now he has to rely on the rumor mill to discredit Stuart bit by bit.
Sadly, neither one of these guys is going to make it to the finish line in their respective races.
It's like a wrestling match in hell. After three rounds, you might finally pin your opponent, but hey, you're still in hell!

Lloyd f---ed up Big. He just lost his only base of friends DPSFV but now thats all gone since, we at DPSFV dont like crap like what Lloyed did. We also dont like Berman, he almost lost our endorsement. Lloyed can forget our support since he has joined with Berman.

Wrong, 9:04. If it was a Sumo wrestling match in hell, Stuart would win easily. Plus he seems pretty comfortable in a diaper.

What did you say? As a DPSFV executive board member, you must have missed a few meetings. You say "you DPSFV" don't like Berman? Then are you all just pussies or what? Michael Jay asked the room to NOT endorse Berman because of his pro-war stance (you can call it what you want, but I'll call it like it is) and only five or six people in that whole room of Berman "haters" stood up to back Michael. Now you are going to pretend that you hate Berman? Are you one of the five or six people who voted to not endorse then because I don't remember who they were. Or are you one of the pussies who was thinking in his head that you shouldn't vote for Berman because he's pro war but you were too afraid to vote not to endorse because you didn't want people mad at you?
